Dallas, according to reports, kept offering Dak a 7 year deal...knowing damn well Dak would be an idiot to sign a 7 year contract which would lock him into a 30m/year. Dak, according to reporting, reasonably wanted a deal like Wentz or Goff...A 4 or even 3 year deal so that when the Jareds/Cousins/Mayfields/Jimmy G of the world reup and start making 45m/year...Dak would not be stuck with a crappy 30m/year contract.

As has been explained tirelessly: THE PRICE NEVER GOES DOWN...IT ALWAYS GOES UP.

So when Watson and Mahomes etc. sign their 40m/year deal...Dak and his agent will be WELL within their rights to START at 35 - 39m/year this offseason.

Give Romo Tyron Smith, Fredbeard, L'al Collins and Martin in 2012 (He had Smith but he also had Ryan Cook 13 games and Phil Costa 3 games, Macenzie Bernadeau and Nate Livings 16 games each) along with a full season of Zeke or Murray (who was injured for a good part of that season and only rushed for 660 yards)...lol as i'm writing this it's amazing that we were even playing for a playoff spot in week 16 im just gonna stop now

He's really not a 5k guy. He just put up a lot of yards in trash time and against poor teams. Passing yrds mean nothing when you go 8-8 and miss the playoffs. Romo put up almost 5K in 2012 and went 8-8.

Dak was only allowed to pass 1 more time (a 1 yard sideline dump to Tavon Austin) after 9 minutes left in the 4th quarter. The rest of the offensive plays were strictly running plays. Coincidence? I doubt it. Someone must have known Dak needed 1 more passing yard to tie Romo's 2012 franchise single season passing record, and a mere 2 passing yards shy of Dak breaking it.

It is shameful Dak was only allowed to pass the ball 1 time within the last 9 minutes of the game. He deserved a better opportunity to break the franchise single season passing record. He earned that opportunity this year.

No, he didn't earn it. See his performance last week. See the Cowboys not make the playoffs? He contributed to that. He played his butt off most games, but he had some bad ones this year too and contributed to the losses. So no, he didn't earn the opportunity. It's interesting that you only bring up Romo in any positive way when it makes Dak look good.

Dak improved some this year but regressed a bit in the second half of the season. Hopefully he will improve more and then any records will come as they come. No need to have to provide opportunities.

Oooh, but Romo was outright allowed to go super pass heavy for years without question, even when he had a decent rushing attack to lean on? You know like that single season franchise passing record year of 2012 where the team rushed 355 times for 1,265 yards but passed 658 times for Romo's franchise season passing record of 4,903 yards which resulted in an 8 - 8 year in which Romo got praised?

Yet, this 2019 8 - 8 season, Dak gets blasted for passing 596 times for 4,902 yards while the team ran the ball 449 times for a total of 2,153 yards. A much more balanced attack. It's very obvious today's team was way more balanced than that 2012 team, yet Dak gets blasted for supposedly being a greedy pass heavy QB, while Romo got praised in 2012 for actually passing a lot more than the team rushed the football?

True (even though Aikman said those concussions didn't affect him even though they did), but why was Aikman getting so many concussions towards the end of his career? What caused him to get hit so much and it affect his game (I'm trying to prove a point here)?

Somewhat agree but also disagree. Aikman was physically limited...with his feet. Great arm when he had the best Oline blocking for him with the best receivers & TE catching the ball and the best RB running behind him, but once he lost his Oline, WRs and TE due to the salary cap, Aikman's 2 left feet hindered his ability to avoid constant incoming pressure which greatly affected his game and caused him to suffer several concussions which ultimately contributed to his retirement (even though he says it didn't). In other words, Aikman shouldn't talk because he would likely struggle with today's team which is very inconsistent with its Oline protection/blocking, receiving, rushing and playcalling.
