She literally learned football last year. Got the job with no football knowledge whatsoever
I get that but why is it such a terrible thing if she’s getting information from players? That’s part of her job

As an aside, I really don’t understand how she got the job she has. Maybe being bilingual? Because as you said, she knows next to nothing about football

Yeah Shan tweeted the other day he's heard a lot of issues surrounding Lal all season.

It's sad all of this dysfunction was going on while folks on CZ were twisting themselves in knots to try to convince themselves things could be turned around for a Super Bowl run. We're learning now that this team never had a chance.

Nope. I spoke of locker room cancers since the Jets loss but I was called crazy .

I really had no questions about Cooper’s toughness until the Philly game. He appeared to be a real warrior prior to that game playing with all the lower body injury’s he’s had. However I saw a little to no effort from him during the Philly game. He didn’t look like he wanted to be out there. He appeared to be just going through the motions. His reputation in Oakland was that of a fair weather player. That was on full display against Philly. It caused him to be benched on that big fourth-down play.

We're a much better offense when Amari is on the field. I don't understand why so many of you are pushing for us to cut him. Jerry & Son know what they can afford & have been pretty good at keeping within their budget lately.

There is a disconnect from how hurt the team thinks he is and what amari thinks. We found that out in the Jets game. I think he's hurt, tries to be tough, but isn't tough enough to play well and loses his effectiveness.

You guys like Ambar because she’s got the sensibilities of a fan.

Amari is a really good player. I’d sign him to an appropriate long term deal in a heartbeat.

Yep, you don't lose 8 of 13 with a talented and relatively healthy team without a lot of problems somewhere.

But also, remember all the posts about how great Lal was in teaching route running etc. when that hire was made? Kinda funny now.

as much as people hated TO at times, you never question his toughness, maybe his sanity but not toughness.

Fwiw... Amari has far more toughness than TO has sanity.

My working theory is that Amari felt that the routes he was getting called upon to run were too predictable. He said as much following one game (PHI?) that he believed the defense was not defending the longer passes the entire game and there were some opportunities missed. Of course, when your QB has a bum shoulder, none of that should be surprising on either side of the ball. To his credit, he's always maintained "I just need to play better." And according to the Break crew, he'd told one of them that he was feeling more healthy in the second half than in the first half... so, no, he evidently wasn't pushing too hard on the "I'm hurt" justification lever.

Yeah if all that stuff was going on all season and the beat reporters just ignored it they can piss off. Why do they have to wait until the season is over to report the news?

I appreciate that she's learned the game as well as she has in her admittedly brief time. But for my part, I often skip through her comments when replaying the podcast to get to what Eatman, Eagleton and Helman have to say. To her credit, she doesn't often try to impose herself too much, but every now and then, she does get on a soap box and I have to use the 30-sec skip button.

Yep. While Garrett is a huge problem, I tried to alert everyone that it CANNOT just be Garrett for these losses. I began to notice hindering around the Jets game. Garrett is a bad coach no doubt, but no way he causes that many problems. Many coaches looked like they didn’t care about their jobs. Now we know players clash with coaches and other coaches clashed with coaches. Ben Bloom, Richard vs Marinelli, Players pro Marinelli vs Pro Richard, now Sanjay Lal. Who knows what happened between the players. This team imploded a long time ago and tried to hide it, but the truth cannot be hidden for long.

When Amari first arrived, I recall Lal getting a lot of praise for how quickly and intensively he was working with him.

In fact, Lal was arguably everybody's favorite new assistant coming in the door a couple of years ago.

Wonder what happened.

Implosion happened. When one thing explodes, the thing next to it tends to fall as well...

Garrett’s lame duck lead to Richard Vs Marinelli, to O’Quinn and special teams, which bled into the offense, which then bled onto Gary Brown, Kellen Moore, and unfortunately, Sanjay Lal. Finally, the players towards then latter half of season. Everything was tainted with fallout of the implosion...

Before mentioning toughness, Ambar said Amari became a vegetarian, and questioned whether that plays a part in his healthy issues. I'd also speculate on mental health issues.

After Amari, Nick is speculating about Sanjay being gone as WR and that he thinks Witten wants to be HC.

He's hinted that before about Witten earlier in the season.

I wondered why he seems so sure Sanjay is gone...because a new head coach is coming? Doesnt seem like a critical enough role the HC would automatically throw him out for another and I have only heard good things about him...so why does it seem like a foregone conclusion hes leaving without getting in to that here?

That’s Ambar....she doeesnt think they’re a tough team, mentally or otherwise. I agree with her. We need hard nosed football people in the house.

Ambar thinks what shes told...she adds nothing to these conversations. Someone should stuff her in Garretts pocket when he leaves.

Why? he totally disappeared this year in many games. Your starting to see why Gruden traded him

Denial is the 1st stage of grief. Season’s over and we’re learning about the faults of our team. He’s grieving. In denial about Amari and other things much like the rest of this forum. Give him time....

Her takes often lack context, aren’t fully fleshed out and occasionally are nonsensical.

So.... accurate.

All players do that. Sometimes guys do a good job in coverage.

There’s no way of looking at his production without realizing he’s an impact player. He’s also got a great attitude, which people are in the process of pretending is a liability when it’s not.
