Just spitballing here, but I would guess that the number of teams with top 3-5 QB's is somewhere between...
wait for it...
3 and 5.
To say that Dak is a top 10-15 QB is statistically demonstrably false, but keep hating and get ready to rant when Jerry gives him a 5-year contract.
I would think that they settle on 4 years unless they blow him out of the water with a long term offer.Dak is the one who wants a short term deal.
If I was Dak, I would evaluate myself as to whether the late season regression was because of injuries or something else. If I truly believed 2020 will be a better and more consistent year than 2019 then I would welcome teh franchise tag, play my butt off in 2019 and then ask for Jerry to open the vault.
But Dak also has to consider the rest of the team. With so many free agents what happens if Cooper and Cobb leave. Dak has to remember what it was like without Cooper. Is the OL breaking down? Is Jarwin up to a #1 TE role? Is Zeke going to take a step back in 2020? Dak needs to make sure his team is not going to let him down. If they do, he loses his bet when he takes the franchise tag.
If I were Dak I would hire a QB coach to teach throwing fundamentals and a former great QB to help me read film
Nothing is permanent in the NFL.
If I were Dak, i'd hit the free market and sign the biggest deal possible

He didn't.If I were Dak I wouldn't have quit on the team with 5 games left to play.
If I were Dak I would realize that Jerry DID see how badly the quarterback play was this year, last year, and the year before.
If I were Dak I would realize that there is a reason the Cowboys cooled in contract negotiations, and that was because of his poor play.
If I were Dak I would get my head out of the clouds and get to work on improving my game- specifically trying to prepare so that in pressure situations I wouldn't choke and throw interceptions, terrible passes, or throw the ball into the ground on 4th down with the game hanging in the balance.
If I were Dak, I'd be happy with $15 million per year for a couple of years after the way he chokes.
He didn't.
Hard to say.
Possibly.
I think he's presently doing that. You don't know that he's not.
No, you would not.
If you or I were Dak:
I’d consider taking a team friendly deal say three years at $25-Mill per fully guaranteed with stipulations that I had input on new coaches, scheme, and maybe adding a few quality free agents..
Or I’d test the market, refuse the tag, and demand Top Market Rate Dollars...
Truth is playing QB for Dallas is a dream job and I’d take even less than that.. I just thought maybe we can all give our own hypothetical scenarios if we were Dak. New fresh thread idea...
Lol that might be exactly what Garrett is saying about Dak.If i was Dak I wouldn’t sign crap until they figure out what they wanna do with Garrett
He can only test the free market if dallas let him walk. If they franchise him, his only option is to not sign it and try to force the team to give him a long term deal. Something that is not very appealing for a qb. Signing the franchise deal worked out well for cousins. He made a ton of money. If you or I were Dak:

What would you ask for or do?
Why don't you hire a QB coach to teach you throwing fundamentals and then you can try out for the Cowboys next year.If I were Dak I would hire a QB coach to teach throwing fundamentals and a former great QB to help me read film
