Exactly. Its offensive, especially when there are quality young coaches out there who deserve a shot, like Saleh or Beneimy
Offensive? Eh. Depends on how sensitive you are.

Lazy? Absolutely. At least last time Jones interviewed Rivera and Singletary to at least get them some exposure.

How is that any different than unqualified guys like Kris Richard getting an interview with the Giants?

Most of these owners are not serious about advancing diversity. It is not really a secret.

It probably isn't. But Richard has been touted for a while as a future head coach. Maybe not so much after this last season....

Rooney rule is so insulting
Its insulting when teams follow the letter not the spirit of the rule. In reality, NFL owners are still hiring from the good ol boys club and only interview people of colour to satisfy the rule. They just cycle between the same three guys.

However, as any professional knows, even just interviewing for a job is good for your career, so even if the HC interviews are token, they still represent some good

I fail to understand how two separate candidates coming in for interviews for head coach would just suddenly decide to join forces for the same team.
Except Andy Reid is excellent with Xs and Os and McCarthy isn’t.

Packers are better off without him and the Cowboys are too.

Not true. According to Farve in an article today he is a good Xs and Os guy.

Another big concern with McCarthy is that Aaron Rodgers was carrying the Packers during his tenure as Packers head coach. For him to win in Dallas he’s going to have to build a complete team around our QB. He can’t try and turn Dak into Aaron Rodgers. In 2011 when the Packers went 15-1 and Aaron Rodgers won the MVP their D ranked 32nd. Statistically that defense ranked as one of the worst in history. The Cowboys biggest issue is their defense.

Marvin Lewis is so obvious, he’s gawd awful. I mean I understand if it was someone more qualified.

So if Garrett is like a 5 as a coach, then what is McCarthy? 6? 6.5?

That's fair. Its also fair to wonder how much of GBs success was due to Arod and not necessarily McCarthy.

They were a talented football team for many years from top to bottom(GB)

KC has a history of being a winning team under Reid w and without Mahomes.

Talent matters. You guys overrate the hell out of QB

if marvin lewis is the coach of this team I am going have to think about changing teams. marvin lewis would be the worst head coach ever. lewis is worst then dave campo and wade phillips put together. might as well keep garrett which is what the jones family wants. I have been a lifelong cowboys fan and this owner is really trying my patience as a fan of this team right now.

This whirlwind of the last two hours with the news about McCarthy breaking followed by the fact that not only is Lewis being considered but already had his interview just reeks of WWE-style entertainment at breakneck speed.
