It's funny to me how many people in the fan-base have been clamoring for Sean Payton to be here but scoff at the idea of Mike McCarthy, yet, they've lead very similar careers.

McCarthy

Payton

Wow, pretty eye-opening. I would’ve assumed that Sean Payton had WAY more wins than McCarthy. Still, the thing that worries me is that he’s got Aaron Rogers and only 1 SuperBowl win.

Few things make a woman more attractive to this football fan (ie, knowing football).
(Of course, as I share that my wife isn't a football fan, that should tell you something about how attractive my wife must be, right?)

Super Bowls are hard to win.

Unless you’re the hoodie / Brady, they don’t come often or easily

So.....no announcement on JG's status but they are interviewing potential candidates? What other team operates this way? None!. This is the perfect example of the dysfunction that is the Dallas Cowboys. Anything goes in Jerrah's World. Like BobHaze said before...."We are the Dallas Jerry's".

(hehe... @CB61 I think you may have read that wrong... I'm about as blessed as a guy can be in that way... 55 yr old who would easily pass for 35.)

I think they are just planning to announce the new coach and never actually announce Garrett not returning. I assume in their warped mind that makes him avoid the stigma of being fired. It will be almost like he never existed.

They don't have to fire Garrett. In 10 days his contract is over and his time in Dallas is done. The Jones don't have to lift a finger (except maybe to call his agent to tell him Garrettj's contract is over).

I even read a tweet in another thread where the Joneses may believe they don't even need to discuss Garrett's status anymore since he's out in 10 days anyway.

I don't know why people continue to think Jerry needs to fire him. It's apparent that after Garrett coaching there for 9 1/2 years Jerry's not going to do that to him.

Exactly. Sean Payton has three 7-9 seasons with Drew Brees at the helm. I know McCarthy won "just" one Super Bowl with Aaron Rodgers, but that's still one more Super Bowl than this organization has even sniffed in the past 25 years-plus.

McCarthy is the Coach I prefer, I understand its not a popular opinion.

Marvin Lewis, would be aweful, imo.

I still think we'll probably Hire someone we arent hearing about yet...

The more I think about McCarthy the more I like the idea. I want a coach with NFL experience and I think he would attract some high profile assistants, too.

McCarthy might also convince Randall Cobb to stay here in free agency as well.

Question(s)..
1) Why do you think he got fired?
2) With 10 days remaining on his contract, what business sense would it make to fire him?

I was talking about Mike McCarthy. I posted in the McCarthy thread and it got merged. Definitely wasn’t referring to Dak as a future HOFer.

from what I read both Lewis and Mccarthy already interviewed the last 2 days..

Its odd all the crying here that the DC FO wont tell then whats going on and they are behind by not announcing Garetts demise, were wrong.. they are still moving on with some interviews.

I'm sure more in the next week..

Its a mystery why they having made an announcement but it obviously will simply end on the 14th or he has anew role. not as the HC..

And yet they’re 13-3 because the new coach quickly figured out that Aaron Jones is a stud who needs the ball in his hands as much as possible.

So even with a limited Rodgers, Green Bay is still winning.

McCarthy’s an idiot who held Jones back. That’s why he went 11-20-1 in his final 2 seasons. Awful. Embarrassing.

Every Packers fan I know has been SCREAMING for Jones to get more touches since he entered the league. McCarthy “knew better” though.

Yeah, that's definitely a big red flag right there, I agree.

You seem to really hate this man for no damn reason

Also, you singlehandedly said one of the stupidest things I’ve ever read here

Rodgers isn’t a good human being. In fact if you read about his relationship with his family, you wouldn’t be saying that. Not to mention, leaks have come out saying that Rodgers is not a good leader

Dak May be inaccurate, may have terrible footwork at times but his teammates love him and is perceived to be a great guy

Your hate is almost disgusting
I kinda like his hate.
