I heard rumors that both the Giants and Panthers were interested but now they both have filled their HCing positions what is left for Garrett? The Browns? They had interest back in the day when Garrett was still our OC. I don't think he will land another HCing job this year but he will land a coaching job somewhere. Any guess on where?

I'm no fan of Garrett but I do think he can be a successful college coach. He should try to find a long term situation there.

The people who do the hiring won’t consider Garrett’s results mediocre because they’ll look at them in a rational context. He will have to overcome the bad PR associated with his name right now. But his reputation in league circles will mean that’s not a huge issue. He’ll get interviews on reputation, and he’ll interview well. Worst case, he sits a year and then takes a coordinator gig through one of his contacts and weathers the bad PR.

That bad PR is a direct result of his coaching failures over a 10 year period. Time may heal all wounds but it won't make Jason Garrett a better coach.

He'll never leave to take a coaching job where accountability matters because he's never played by those rules thanks to nepotism. He's lived in Daddy's and Jerry's proverbial basement all these years. He's not going to test the waters now unless one of his kids need a swimming coach.

Idjit, here's an article on HC taking coordinator positions. Actually has a quote from Wade Phillips about "bills to pay" and "its in your blood" after losing a HC position. The only thing lacking is the definition of "good."

I would say the same thing to you. If you interpretation is that his performance was stellar, then I would just tell you that you don't value coaching or you have woefully low standards. He did get booted after all. It wasn't because of the incredible job he did.

3 playoffs in 10 years. One playoff win. No championship games, no SB's. He had some horrible 1-8 or 2-8 record in win or go home games. How many times did Garretts teams have to win the last game of the season or close to it and lost?

With all of his connections he will likely be highly sought after in the booth.

I'll give you and other Garrett supporters credit. You guys always think outside the box when it comes to defending Garrett and it's been that way from day one. Garrett must be the only coach that is not responsible for his record of failure.
