LOL.........And Garrett would have been a good coach if he knew how to coach. Your example is childish and laughable as was your grossly misplaced support of the over matched Garrett.

Look at his actual performance. It’s not like it’s not available for you to interpret if you ever intend to look at it rationally.

I heard rumors that both the Giants and Panthers were interested but now they both have filled their HCing positions what is left for Garrett? The Browns? They had interest back in the day when Garrett was still our OC. I don't think he will land another HCing job this year but he will land a coaching job somewhere. Any guess on where?

Anywhere is better than here....
Who cares? He is no longer a Cowboy. This belongs in the "NFL Zone" forum.

I'm no fan of Garrett but I do think he can be a successful college coach. He should try to find a long term situation there.

Wherever he lands I hope it's with some team within our division. I would love to play his predictable offense twice a year.

The people who do the hiring won’t consider Garrett’s results mediocre because they’ll look at them in a rational context. He will have to overcome the bad PR associated with his name right now. But his reputation in league circles will mean that’s not a huge issue. He’ll get interviews on reputation, and he’ll interview well. Worst case, he sits a year and then takes a coordinator gig through one of his contacts and weathers the bad PR.

That bad PR is a direct result of his coaching failures over a 10 year period. Time may heal all wounds but it won't make Jason Garrett a better coach.

He'll never leave to take a coaching job where accountability matters because he's never played by those rules thanks to nepotism. He's lived in Daddy's and Jerry's proverbial basement all these years. He's not going to test the waters now unless one of his kids need a swimming coach.

You’re wrong here, again. But it’s not my job to provide examples of good coaches who have been coordinators after becoming head coaches. Neither is it my job to defend Jason Garrett’s next career move the week after he became available again to coach.

Idjit, here's an article on HC taking coordinator positions. Actually has a quote from Wade Phillips about "bills to pay" and "its in your blood" after losing a HC position. The only thing lacking is the definition of "good."

In 2006......

"In addition, the group of former head coaches who accepted assistant coach positions over the last six weeks represents a boon to their new teams. As terrific a job as Nick Saban did in Miami in his first season in 2005, his staff is strengthened remarkably by the additions of Capers (fired by the Texans) to run the defense and Mike Mularkey (resigned as Bills coach) to preside over the offense. Norv Turner, jettisoned by the Oakland Raiders, will attempt to rectify the offensive problems across the bay as the new coordinator for the 49ers. Former Vikings coach Mike Tice, as the new assistant head coach in Jacksonville, will get back to his roots coaching offensive linemen. Is there any doubt onetime Rams coach Mike Martz can help the offensively challenged Detroit Lions?

In all cases, that will mean putting ego aside a bit, but all seem prepared to do so.

Mike Sherman, the former Green Bay sideline boss who earlier this week accepted the position of assistant head coach on Gary Kubiak's initial Houston Texans staff, is the most recent of the ex-head coaches to take a job of lesser title. And he conceded that letting go of the concept of being a head coach was a difficult thing to do."

I would say the same thing to you. If you interpretation is that his performance was stellar, then I would just tell you that you don't value coaching or you have woefully low standards. He did get booted after all. It wasn't because of the incredible job he did.

3 playoffs in 10 years. One playoff win. No championship games, no SB's. He had some horrible 1-8 or 2-8 record in win or go home games. How many times did Garretts teams have to win the last game of the season or close to it and lost?

It’s not, though. It’s a result of the fact that people hate the Cowboys. And the clapping. And the three 8-8 seasons with teams that had below .500 talent, and the fact that guys like Steven A and Shannon Horseface make a living mocking things that annoy Cowboys fans and please Cowboys haters because it sells.

I'd say Garrett will land as a Sunday analyst for Fox, CBS, ESPN, or the NFL Network.
With all of his connections he will likely be highly sought after in the booth.
Probably be like he is in his pressers. Constantly repeating himself and never getting to the point.

You deflect blame onto anyone but your hero Garrett. The Cowboys have been a laughing stock of the NFL because Jerry hires idiots like Garrett and Wade to be the HC's of his team.

I'll give you and other Garrett supporters credit. You guys always think outside the box when it comes to defending Garrett and it's been that way from day one. Garrett must be the only coach that is not responsible for his record of failure.
