Morning, Pops and pen pals. Congrats on surviving the storm, @Xelda . Hope the dogs are back to normal now and you didn't have too much damage. I've been doing a few odd jobs in the Condo such as installing a new ceiling fan, and adjusting doors so they shut better. The moist salt air makes things deteriorate more quickly. At least the beach is nice, albeit windy. "See" Y'all tomorrow.

Evening Pops and everyone.

Day 11 of my positivity self-challenge. So far so good, but look out. Here comes an emotional challenge I failed. I saw something at church yesterday that was so stinking cute and adorable, and at the same time very painful. A couple I know was sitting holding hands. I was so challenged NOT to just cry... something that simple... but I miss that in my life...that kind, sweet attention. Some of you know how it is when the memories sneak up on you...

Okay, enough of my babbling before I start blubbering.

Hopefully everyone had a great and/or productive Sunday.

On to Monday.

Good evening Pops and friends. Did you know if you try to post a reply without typing anything, an error will pop up? True story.

I'm upset with the Chiefs whooping on Houston. I was sort of hoping for another Titan like game. I also want the 49ers to go home with their tails between their legs so I guess the Chiefs would be the best bet for that. Ok, talked myself down. The AR show is on and I'm actively trying not to lose my religion.

Ah Gramma, sorry to hear about your trigger and not really sure what the right thing to say is. I hope you can find love again.

Fox just showed Jimmy Johnson make it into the NFL Hall of Fame! HAHA! The Cowboys can still show up in the play offs and distract from old AR!!!!! Troy teared up, too. It was beautiful!!!

Good evening Pops and friends. Our oldest daughter and son in law went on a 4 day vacation to Washington state so we’ve had 4 grandkids staying with us ranging from ages 17-7. They’re a good bunch. One of my sis in law has been in the hospital several weeks recovering from a stroke. Last Sunday the kids decided to bring church to their aunt at the hospital. The oldest was the audio tech, the others sang praise music. Afterwards the 11 year old did some preaching.

I felt like a taxi driver most of the last four days. Drop off/pick up at School(s). Soccer practice, soccer game, robotic’s competition, bday parties, etc..
The 11 year old loves being outside throwing the football so my right shoulder and elbow are a little sore.

I’m sleeping in tomorrow. Staying in my pajamas until noon or later if I get the chance. :muttley:

I’ve been watching more football that I thought I would and really enjoyed the first game today. I’m not a KC fan, I just really enjoyed watching the other team get knocked out ;)

Have a great week everyone and most of all be safe.

It's like you read my mind when typing the bolded paragraph. I was thinking the exact same thing as I watched the games.

Morning Pops and Monday Moaners. Crummy football yesterday and exemplary of why I am losing interest in the NFL, the HOU-KC game was embarrassing for the NFL and HOU. O'Brien should be fired today just as Reid was. And speaking of that walrus, he is the luckiest and most overrated HC of all time.

I was watching when they surprised Cowher and Johnson with the HOF and Aikman's response was exceptional. He's been very vocal about Jimmy not being in the ROH and I think that just serves to show what a petty egotist the owner is. If not for Jimmy Johnson building his team, he wouldn't own it today and would have gone the way of Bum Bright.

Tonight is the big game and I hope LSU doesn't stumble against a very good Clemson team. It would be a shame because this team is the most awarded of all time. The QB won everything, they have the Biletnikoff winner and their receiving corps and OL were ranked #1 by every rating service and won awards I did not know existed. And they've got a couple of first rounders on their D. Their HC grew up across the bayou from the stadium and the game is in New Orleans. The stars are aligned for a mild upset, LSU is favored by 5.

Even if you do not follow college ball, this game has historic significance. This will be the gathering of the two most talented teams in history and years from now we'll talk about when these players shared the same field. There have never been two QB's like this face off with an abundance of weapons, I do not think we'll see another like this because we've never seen it before. If all of these kids were draft eligible, half of the first round would be players from just these two teams and the QB's would be 1 and 2. That is the bane of college ball, those that get the 4 and 5 stars rule the land but when you get them facing off? Gangbusters.

The cool thing about this for me is that I've watched these two teams so much, I know the players like I do Cowboys and don't even need to read their names.

So, are you ready for some football? The Real Monday Night Football!

Morning, Pops and all I've been having sporadic issues with my browsers, both Firefox and Chrome, on my laptop automatically scrolling to the bottom of web pages and refusing to be moved up. I guess I need to get it checked out. If anybody wants to venture a guess as to what's wrong, I'll listen. Maybe the browsers are just tired and sink to the bottom of the page to rest. Have a great day, everyone.

p.s. LSU won the national championship returning the title to the Southeastern Conference where it belongs.

Morning Pops and welcome to the morning after my little chickadees. Ole CC has fuzzy head because he celebrated a little too much and stayed up too late and I talk about him in the third person when he behaves this way. I just don't know what to do with him when he starts off with "I'll probably regret this but damn the torpedoes, I've got depth charges".

It wasn't an exciting national championship game like some of the others but when I considered just what the Tigers had done this season, beaten 7 teams ranked in the top 10 and all 4 of the preseason top 4 teams and 3 of them in a row, they were a team of destiny and that's flat out the best offense I've ever seen play college football. The fact that their HC was once made fun of because of his voice and how "real" he is, only served to make it sweeter. I was one of those opposed to him getting the HC gig because I said they could do better. I think those coaches and players and the millions of LA residents would say that I was wrong, as I happily admit. There is everything real about the man and his willingness to give credit to everyone else and take none for himself is refreshing. He gets credit for hiring Joe Brady and re-inventing the offense and all he does is give credit to the coaches and players. Man, if there ever was a guy to play it smug and in your face, he's the guy but none of that. He deflects praise unless it's heaped on his guys.

And hats off to Dabo for being a class act and caring more about his players and their mindsets than the game. You won't see many HC's at any level, certainly not the NFL, that will take time from the game to comfort his QB and his best D player in the game when he was ejected. Easy to see why he resurrected that program into one of the, if not the, best in the country.

So, another season is over and while I am ecstatic that it ended this way, I will miss it. I much prefer the college game to the one played by millionaires for billionaires.
