Either Big Mc lied or someone made a 'we' decision for him......

Mike McCarthy relinquished play-calling duties to start last season. After a rocky stretch for the offense, which lacked continuity, the Green Bay Packers head coach took back the job. While he doesn't regret the decision, he won't be surrendering those duties in the future.

"I'll never do that again," McCarthy told Tom Pelissero of USA Today.
Neither. MM has had a chance to talk in depth with Moore and he has won him over. But I get it, haters gonna hate.

me too. In fact his top play he told King was Moore’s play. Hard to come in and take over a #1 offense. I think it will be a combo of both, a refinement. He will clean it up.
It's potentially a mutually beneficial partnership. Very smart move that shows how much he thinks of Moore.

This makes a lot of sense.

Why did they fire Colombo then?!?!?
Why did they fire Colombo? Did our O-line look good at any point this season? Fred Beard needs to pick up his play this coming season or we need to prepare to move on.

Kellen Moore, just like Stephen Jones, is far more intelligent than many here think. One need only consider the source of the criticism.

It's true. Look at his college career and coaching career. He led an incredibly productive offense in his first year as OC, and threw for nearly 15k yards and 150 tds in college despite having like zero athletic skills. He obviously knows football

I feel sorry for people like you. How it is you can feel like a decent person and yet call people you don't even know "haters?" Beyond me.

Perhaps you have some latent hate you must push off on others who don't agree with you?
Perhaps you're a psycho preying on the innocent, pulling wings on butterflies with a racous, "mwahahahaha!"

Please do not let me interrupt your immaturity. In real life people can have opposing views and hot hate each other.

Carry on until puberty.

I assume that we'll be changing up the blocking scheme some, including using some of the techniques they taught in Green Bay. He wanted his guy for that.

Sorry to hear you have anger issues. Perhaps you should check yourself into the nearest psycho facility? I'm sure your poor neighbors will be happy to call the cops and have you committed if you ask nicely.

Einstein was told he didn't have what it took to be any good at physics. Again, consider the source. Kellen's like coach Klein. Just needs the waterboy to step it up.

I am willing to give Kellen a second chance.

He called plays for the #1 offense in the league during his 1st year as OC and only his second year as coach. Yes, our offense sucked during certain critical games (second eagles games and saints), but I don't see why Kellen can't improve. At least now he works for a coach that knows what he is doing.

If Kellen sucks this year, Mike can always take away play calling duties from him. I don't see this as an issue.

Keep in mind that he said he plans to keep the same "terminology" It doesn't mean we'll be using the same offensive philosophies across the board. The same play can be called 20 different ways depending on the coach.

I have no doubt that he and Kellen Moore will be in a bunker coming up with several offensive disciplines that morph WCO philosophies with tons of other route/running combinations. He's just making it easier for the entire team to transition. Just like Saban said on the special with him and Belicheck on HBO. There's only one guy in the room that doesn't know the terminology and it's you. We aren't making 100 guys learn your language. You'll learn ours.

This feels like the exact opposite of what Mike McCarthy talked about in his Peter King interview.

In that interview, he talked about himself being the play-caller and that the play-caller needs to be the person who installs the offense each week.

Not a fan of this at all.

Either Jerry pushed this, or they really wanted Moore to stay and that was part of their agreement to keep him.
Stop it. You're ruining the mirage.

It's disconcerting given how Moore struggled against teams that were actually good. The only reason not to panic is at least the playbook is changing. No more Garrett garbage.

We'll see how it goes. It really seems like things are morphing into a not much has changed other than the playbook situation. More of Jerry's smoke and mirrors shenanigans.
