How is Crawford still on the roster?

He’s taking an out right pay cut

or will be cut whenever the dead money is at its minimum effect possible

Crawford will either be released or his salary significantly reduced. Im hoping for the latter. He is better then Covington, Hyder and Armstrong combined when healthy. Yes he hasn't contributed lately and yes hes overpaid in the "what have you done for me lately" category. But at a reduced price I would bring him back as a rotational piece at both DT and DE. Versatility is key with this guy if healthy.

Other than last year, Crawford started all but two of the games he played, whether it was at right end, left end or defensive tackle. Like it or not, some coaches see value in that.

More of this "participation trophy" stuff, just great.

He has had at least four sacks in four consecutive seasons prior to his injury. He gets pressures and he plays whatever role is asked of him.

"Pressures", now the limbo bar for expectations is dropped to pressures. $10 million for a guy who gets pressures now. He's an outright liability at RDE, so save me and anyone else the position flex argument.

I know you are blinded by how you feel about the player, but you need to ask yourself why the coaches/staff who work with him don't seem to feel the same way.

I am. All the time. And guess who's proven right again and again and again regarding this player?

(Hint: Not the team!)

I saw a report awhile back where Crawford said he knows that he needs to renegotiate his contract to stay with the Cowboys. There is no rush they aren't hurting for cap space. He actually fits the new defense where they want guys who can play multiple positions because they want the flexibility lining up in different fronts.

Was wondering the same but Broaddus seems to think the lack of production from D-Law last year was because Crawford wasn't next to him. Thinks he is criminally underrated by this fanbase.

Free agency started today. It doesn't start 'whenever the Cowboys get around to it.' That's why other teams are or more likely already have cut their dead weight while the Cowboys sit on their hands. You do things according to the league calendar.

Really? Where?

Maybe that's why Broaddus was fired?

Amid all of this team's moves, how is it that this guy is still sitting here counting $9.1 million against the cap?

Word is they reworked Zeke and Collins' contracts to free up money. Why has nothing been done on this obvious mistake?

I know it's me, and I know it's beating a dead horse for me, but it's also a valid question!

For all of the good moves they have made, why is nothing being done here?

Why has this team not make the painfully obvious move of doing something about this contract? Other teams have made measures to cut costs and dead weight, and out worst contract sits on the books? Why?

3 years ago I asked the same question. Never could figure out the love affair with the guy. A try hard guy that can't stay healthy paid like a quality DL player. Does not compute..

Unless we plan on using his cap space after he's cut it's better to just keep him on for now.

He is way overpaid but isn't stopping us from signing anyone currently.

The following tweet is from December 2019.

I've seen multiple stories since the end of last season that the Dallas Cowboys will want Tyrone Crawford to take a pay cut and him being open to doing so. Crawford can be a solid role player in Big D provided he does agree to making less money.

None of which answers my questions. Try again. Do better. Have better excuses ready.

Answer my question:

Who is signing today that needs more than that? Any 30 Million dollar a year CBs out there that I missed?

That is painfully obvious to everyone on Earth, with the exception of the OP.

Or what? You will wet your pants over Amari Cooper leaving several more times?

Ooh! Nice diversion attempt when you have no valid answers. Make up more lies.

Another failure.

LOL. I have never been a fan. Especially Crawford at DE. He is at best a backup , straight line 3T. Nothing more. You can't pay him $9MM. Since they are so thin at DT I would considering going to him with a 3/4 million take it or leave it contract. If he does not agree, cut him.
