According to the other thread, he was on the field over 98% of the time. Finding a few plays he did well shouldn't be that hard. It's the vast majority of the other plays when he doesn't that are troublesome.

Really, the only thing he could do is rush the QB from the LB position on 3rd down. He can't change direction and can't run laterally. He's not Lawrence Taylor but, maybe he could play him on TV.

Strum also in the athletic( can't be posted here) also had about 3 to 4 coaches (Who were smarter than him,His words) break down some film on Jaylon, in which some of the coaches talked about him being put in bad situations by his teammates on some of the plays. So as pointed out, he can make plays, we need to see more of them on a consistent bases, but its not like the guy can't play.

I have a subscription and read the article (I posted about it yesterday but the thread was taken down). The takeaway from the four coaches could summarized as such:

  1. The scheme was inherently bad, or at least the implementation of it. and other players on the defense suck too (we already knew this); and
  2. Jaylon is technique poor, has questionable football intelligence, and some of the coaches were left flabbergasted as to explain what Jaylon was reading and/or how he chose to play it.
I’ve maintained that two things can be equally true; the reality of one doesn’t negate the other.

.....but he's already been awarded the Fall Guy Award on the defensive side.

He's a Jerry starter...not a real NFL starter. Sorry, but the guy can't play, is a liability to the defense, and won't get any better.

I don't think he will either. I'm just saying, it might take a while to replace him because, believe it or not, we actually have even bigger problems than Jaylon.

Well you have that almost right Cern,, but our complete LB starting ranks are highly injury prone that has been invested in at this point somewhat.

What i find most disturbing is that all 3 were drafted with a prior history of injuries. Only jaylon has recovered. Lee is thru. Lve needs to be released for the sake of his future health.

You're the only one talking about Garrett, I guess he must've rejected you in some fashion, since you got such a crush on him. As far as Zeke, he's still the starting RB of the Dallas Cowboys , you hate to see it.

Garrett and Zeke have made complete fools of you. Like you do to yourself daily with these laughable posts. The great Zeke couldnt even get to 1000 yards this year. What a chump.

You dont know football. Stop trying to sound smart about it. Its hopeless for you.

Consistency is the key.

Sometimes Jaylon makes a play and gets your hopes up, then he gets thrown back 6 feet by the right arm of a tight end. He looks like a FS playing LB to me TBH. I would love to see him play LB like a beast but he can't stack and shed, he plays straight up and backpedals, and he reads the play WAYYY too late then gets lost in the fray and makes a tackle 8 yards downfield.

The problem is that his bad is mental errors, and there's way too many of them.

He has terrible eyes. It doesn't matter if he's blocked or not.
We're still not gonna cut, may as well coach him up and hope he responds to the new staff.

Any fan with a brain understands that scheme and surrounding talent can have a corresponding impact on your play.

That’s a given.

The problem with the Jaylon stans is that they lazily throw-out “it’s the scheeeeeeeeme!” and act as if that’s a credible alibi for Jaylon. The mind boggling things Jaylon does (and doesn’t do) on the field transcends scheme and can be analyzed and critiqued individually.

Folks that actually have access to the article and read it in its entirety will tell you those coaches did not provide Jaylon a ringing endorsement.

Again, on some of those plays the coaches laid the blame at Jaylon’s feet and could not fathom why he chose to play a particular snap the way he did.

I wouldn't give him that much.

I don't recall a play where he as much as sniffed a QB this season.

Not looking up his QB hits or pressures because I'm lazy but I'd be stunned if there were as many as 3 in 2020.

All true.

As I think on it, Quinn was probably the latest guy to tell Jerry he will get 54 fixed in order to keep earning an NFL paycheck.

What we DO know is that 2018 happened and they CAN potentially play well together (LVE)

I still have no clue what happened to those two nor have I seen a logical explanation as of yet.

Well, like it or not, the guy will likely be in the starting lineup next fall. We simply can't replace everybody, and a starter who doesn't get hurt will probably end up on the field.

Like the rest of you, I don't think he's good. We all know he's not turned out like we wanted. But the amount of hate he gets is definitely overboard. LVE is even more unreliable and doesn't get anywhere near the vitriol.
