Well, England looks EXACTLY like the Cowboys so far. Playing down to the competition, overly conservative early on (especially on primetime Television), and letting the opposition stick around rather than playing aggressively. I think we can officially diagnose England with Cowboysitis.

Very poor, but not surprised. Have to give Scotland credit for their game plan and effort.

Very Cowboys like.

Thought we were outstanding tonight. May well be a bit of bias but thought we just about edged it. Just frustrating we didn't play like that against the Czechs on Monday.
Going to be a long 4 days till the Croatia game. Should be some game, whoever wins probably through and both out if it's a draw

Yup, I don't know what to call it. Do the Cowboys have Englanditis? Or does England have Cowboysitis? Cuz England looked like the Cowboys in the first game too. Perhaps the Cowboys should play at Wembley this season. There wouldn't be much difference in the quality haha.

Scotland looked like the Giants. Solid defence, decent offense that couldn't finish the deal. England looked like the Cowboys in how conservative England played. Mexico (for international comparisons) look like the Eagles in how bad their fans seem to be on game day. Very Eaglelike. The US looks like the Bills. Young team, and looking decent. The Czech Republic looks like Washington with their defence, but, again, not much offense. Haven't really figured out Croatia haha.

In a tournament you very rarely see a team dominate from group stage to the final. England can pick it up an go again. But what is their best team and formation? that is the problem. Like the NFL it's not necessarily about getting the best players on the field, it's about finding a pattern of play that works to your strengths and going from there. You need the quality, but you need a system.

Oh I agree. And it's not uncommon for a team to look quiet like Germany did in 2014 and then go on to win the tourny. I'm a bit nervous though about the lack of aggression. Maybe England's holding it back till later, but idk.

LOL Hungary takes a 1-0 lead into the 2nd half. This despite France dominating possession. All it takes is one quick counter.

That it does. France drawing with Hungary makes me feel a bit better about drawing with Scotland yesterday. Quite the upset for Hungary though. Well done to them!

So with that, France advances to the knockout stage with that point. Portugal is in second, but is playing Germany. Hungary is in third and could advance to the knockout phase, and Germany is in last place pending this game.

Oh what a spectacular goal by Germany there!!! 2-1 Germany! Two quick goals for Germany! I like Ronaldo, but I had Germany as my darkhorse in this tournament, so go Germany! And the OG, whoopsies!!

HUGE upset to draw with France.

Ugh, Poland just tied my team. That serves me right for laughing at France.

They didn't make it to the finals, but Italy was ridiculous in 1990. They lost to Argentina in the final four. I'm using NCAA basketball terms because I forget what the call it in soccer. Semi's? That was a shame because all Argentina did was play defense and hope for a shootout. They got it too. An Italy, West Germany finals would have been epic.

Italy won in 2006 my friend. World cup 2006 in Germany. Italy won. That 1990 team was stacked. Maradona (RIP) was pretty much kicked out of Italy after that World Cup.

Was that the one against France? Where that dude from France speared an Italian player in the chest and got booted?

I guess they still don't allow fans at South American soccer games. I was just watching Argentina vs Paraguay.
