Nah. Herbert is better than Dak. I'd trade Dak for Herbert right now without even blinking and making sure the league office stamps that trade immediately before the Chargers realized what a bad deal they just made.

Russell Wilson is better too. Watson and Stafford? I guess you could make that a debate but Stafford is a SB winning QB.

I'd throw in a no-1 pick also to get Herbert in Big D!!!

Justin Herbert's First 2 Seasons:
Pass yards: 9,350 (most ever)
Pass TDs: 69 (most ever)
300+ yard games: 17 (most ever)

Again. Are those losses Dak's fault or a team loss?

A statistic like that is mostly a team loss. But at the same time people can say our quarterback isn't good enough to overcome a situation when the team is not doing well on the ground. Forcing them to pass more, and losing as a result. It's not easy for any QB when the run is shut down.

So to be clear, if the Chargers offered up Herbert straight up in a trade for Dak, you'd say no?

Hahaha.

I agree, I think at 24 years old I might do that vs a 28 year old. Question do you pay Herbert 50 mill a year contract?

Poor guy, you must be slow. I didn’t say that.

But it’s crystal clear that you’d have taken Wentz over Dak and Jeff George over Aikman.

There is context to it also, Like shutting the run down WHILE still playing a 5-6 man front, teams where able to go full coverage and shut the run down..thats never a good scenario.

Chargers GM would have to be drunk. At minimum 3 times over the legal limit.

He is talented for sure and there is a good chance the Chargers scenario could be a huge exstension for the QB before he ever makes the playoffs.

All loses and wins are the teams.

But you don't think that's pretty telling? Why do we need 100 yards rushing to win a game?
LOL at your lack of context.

Tell us how Cooper Rush played better against Minnesota than Dak played against Tampa Bay.

Absolutely. That's a worst case scenario. If you can't run the ball at least moderately against a 5 to 6 man box, call it a night.

Watson shouldnt even be included to be honest. Does it not bother anyone else that Zeke got 6 games with one accusation and Watson has gotten nothing and been traded and signed a huge deal?

After the last 2 seasons. I dont even have Wilson or Watson on the list. IMO.
Watson hasn't played in a year and is almost certainly going to get at least a full year.
Putting him here is just odd.

Russ is outstanding or was before the last 2 seasons but he fell off in a bad way.
Not sure Denver is place to bring back the magic but it might be.
I'd probably hold tight on Russ for at least a few games.

Best thing with these lists is ignore Dak and let the goofballs have at it.
The rest of the list will tell you if the list is sane or wonky.

He'll be getting that after the 2022 season. But this is probably the best time to be extending your QB. Remember, Herbert still has a 4th year, and a 5th year option. Any enormous cap hits won't happen until several years from now. The cap will be much higher by then due to the new TV deals. I know some people think an extension and a new contract are the exact same thing. But they are not. And they do not start at the same time.

dude youd do that for Carson Wentz you dont count. Your too bias. that said i would absolutely make that trade head to head but those numbers wouldnt be like that here in dallas. Also the Garrett factor if herbert had to play under that weasil for 3 years he may be damaged goods lol.

ok, lets start another Dak thread, given we haven't had any lately and nothing on first page....

so the points of debate are
  • he is inaccurate
  • he can't read defenses
  • he doesn't beat teams with a winning record
  • he has empty stats
  • he doesn't throw down field
  • he doesn't throw his WRs open
  • He checks down a lot
  • he doesn't run any more
  • he is gimpy
  • he folds in big moments
  • his stats are from being behind so much and its empty 4th quarter stats
  • he is injury prone
  • he is 1-3 in the playoffs
  • we will never win with him
  • his contract is handicapping us from signing anyone
  • he was the reason we traded cooper for peanuts and a bag of chips
  • he is over paid

did I miss anything?

ok, so lets have at it.

Correct, if they are smart (unlike our FO) they will extend. And just like how Daks contract will be alot of fuss over nothing with the redo's and cap raising...at the end of the day the ones who get bent out of shape over "Paying a QB before he has playoff success" is just a market in which 32 teams are fighting over 15 players at the same position.....

I love how Dak has to overcome a 12-31 line from the highest-paid RB in the league (against 6-7 in the box) and FOURTEEN penalties against an elite defense like San Francisco in the playoffs, and when he can’t WIN under those circumstances, it’s proof that he sucks.

But for any other QB in the NFL, the CZ anti-Dak crowd is like, “Who cares that he’s never done squat in the playoffs, CHECK OUT HIS ARM STRENGTH!!!”

@phildadon86

Just for fun...

When Dak is the Cowboys QB how many games do we win with less than 100 rushing yards?

2021 - 0
2020 - 0
2019 - 2
2018 - 3
2017 - 1
2016 - 0

That is 6 games ladies and gents. 3 of those years with 0 wins if we have under 100 rushing yards.

Shut down the run, beat the Dallas Cowboys if Dak Prescott is the QB. It's really that simple and his career up this this point proves that.
