This is a frustrating game. Our offense has failed to capitalize two times on Jared Weaver. This should be at least a 1run game by this point (top of 6).

Hopefully they will come through and take at least two from this series.

Yeah, really disappointing that Josh couldn't do anything with bases loaded in the 3rd. I mean, I understand going through a slump...but 6 weeks man? C'mon man...

So I'll be in Dallas 24-26 August to see the Boys take on the Rams on Saturday, but the Rangers are also in town. What better way to make an awesome sports weekend than to see baseball and football?

So, my question is: where are the best seats in the house? I like to sit around the infield. Does Rangers Ballpark have anything like Nationals Park here in DC where the 2nd tier of seats around the infield are covered/have indoor concessions? Price isn't an object.

Not really, pretty much all in that great Texas heat. They have a club type thing in center field and of course suites in between the decks. But they have all you can eat seats in the upper homerun porch in right field and the free (with price of ticket) food is all served inside with available seating in the concession area, but it's pretty far from the action. As long as it is a night game though the heat isn't bad at all. Personally I always like homerun porch in lower right field just because I enjoy heckling the other teams' right fielder :)

Hope this helps.

Sounds like great weekend!
The Rangers do have a second tier covered area behind the 3rd base side. I've sat there before and liked it. August is so hot you want to be in the shade even in the 7pm games.
Then in the outfield they have areas that allow you to go into air conditioned burger joints from your seats to watch the game and take break from the heat.

To drop the finally with Harrison pitching is a big disappointment. Glad I missed it.

Harrison pitched ok. He didn't get shelled - there's just a lot of guys on the Angels who can hit and hit with power. Ogando has not pitched that great since coming back from the DL... at least not at the level we expect him. I'm not that concerned about our pitching, overall, though. It's the offense that needs a little spark.

Colby Lewis done for the year, having surgery on his arm.

Perez is starting tomorrow, any guesses on a long term replacement?

Terrible. A trade is definitely going to come. Cliff Lee?

I have no idea, since teams know we have a need the price will go up. Just have to have faith that Daniels wont panic and over pay.

Wonder which ones of our prospects goes on the block?

I'd say that the highest we'd give up in Olt. I'd imagine if it's anybody like Lee or Hamels they are going to demand Profar, which wont happen. Realistically it will probably not be an ace level player.

I don't want to give up Olt. What if we lose Nap and Ham to FA? We might need Olt's power at 1B with Young over the hill and Nap no longer around and maybe Moreland gets shifted to LF.

Look out for Josh Johnson from the Marlins. Rangers had a scout in attendance to watch his start today (6 IP, 1H, 9K).

Marlins made a trade yesterday that makes it look like they are giving up on the season. JJ has one more year on his contract so we'll be able to keep him next year. He's a righty that we mix in with the lefty combo of holland/harrison.

Hamels I think will re-up with the phillies in the next few days. Garza, Greinke, and TB pitchers do nothing for me.

Jon Daniels better pounce if we can get JJ without giving up Olt.

I think Olt will be good, but I'm not sold. I don't know why. I wish we had a catcher then I really wouldn't mind losing Napoli. Doubt Moreland gets shifted anywhere. If anything Gentry will be a full time starter with Martin rotating around. We could possibly move Kinsler to the outfield and call up Profar. Have Olt play 1st or Moreland.

I don't think the Rangers will go for Greinke, but may go for Hamels or Johnson. Just hope they don't give too much for a pitcher. Hopefully Perez will have a strong outing like Feldman had last night.
