Ken Stabler was Elite. Could you imagine him playing today? lol..wow. He could have 4 rings if he played for BB in NE. He was deadly accurate.

That’s an excuse. Romo had Hall of Fame TO and Witten. He had Marion Barber and Murray. He had Terry Glenn and a Hall of Fame coach with another future Hall of Fame coach as an OC. Our defenses then were very comparable to what we have now. Dak hasn’t inherited a better team or coaching. Stop it. Romo was no better than Dak. Just more exciting to watch. With the same results.
That’s not how I see it.

We didn’t have a top 10defense with Romo. Offensively yea. Similar talent.

Herbert and Hurts will be there if MM is feeling really RANDY at 17 lol...but I would be very shocked.

They can if MM can hit on enough draft picks. Our past few drafts have been dirt. Even LVE isn't looking so good right now. He was horrific before the neck injury.
I am in complete agreement with this and use FA to our benefit. I think the Quinn aqusition was a a good one but they crapped the bed on draft day

they can’t do that again and LVE is a concern at LB and scheme change is a must

Would you really consider Garoppolo as being a better QB than Dak?

I'm not sure I'd go that far. I would say that they're pretty even.

The one thing Garoppolo has that Dak didn't this year was an elite defense and a team committed to running it down their opponents throats.

But in terms of overall QB play I see him having slightly better pocket awareness than Dak has, also seems to rely on his legs a bit more than Dak has recently, and that's about it.

This is in no way a knock on Garoppolo because I think he's a very good QB but I wouldn't exactly say that he's better.

In fact, among a lot of 9ers fans locally that I speak with you'll hear many of the same criticisms of him as you would Dak but at the end of the day the common theme is that he just finds a way to win.

I think Dak is a good qb.

I think Jimmy G is a hair better.

The biggest difference is the rest of the team (especially TE, DL and LB). Throw in a very good coach versus our finally exiled albatross?

You get 13-3 vs 8-8.

The worst possible scenario is having an avg QB paid as an elite QB.

Dak is better than average, maybe not elite, but he is above average. (Not sure if you were referencing him)

The worst possible scenario is letting go of a good quarterback and ending up with Quincy Carter/Hutchinson/Henson/old Testaverde.

Any fan should be ok with upgrading any position, but there is zero reason to risk down grading at QB. The smart move is tag him and let MM go to work, reevaluate next season.

Jim Plunkett was a winner..and I don't care what Moniker someone wants to give him. Elite..maybe not..but like brady, they just win. IF THATS ELITE, I WILL TAKE IT. So with that said, looking at Daks winning percentage since 2016, he IS elite.

He also has the best rb,wr, OL combination in the league........and still didn't manage a come from behind win all year. Just saying...........

Eli was elite when he won those super bowls. He's a HOF Qb.....maybe not first ballot but he'll get in eventually. Flacco and Foles played out their minds at the perfect time......elite performances. I'm assuming your talking about Payton in Denver in his last year which is one of the few times a super bowl winning QB didn't have a big hand in the teams success that year. If you want to talk great teams that didn't require great QB performances, there are a few like Tampa, Balitmore, the 85 Bears. But the overwhelming majority feature HOF Qbs.

You just can’t start a post w/ “Eli was elite” and expect me to focus on the rest. I’ve already tuned out lol.
But no, solid post

Well, he's not my favorite QB either. But, he did have a period in his career when he was pretty dam good. I know he torched us on more than one occasion.

And a growing trend of unable to come from behind 7 points or more after halftime.

At some point QB’s are expected occasionally to lead their team from behind.

Then we’ll tag him twice but your argument that we can’t pay Dak and fix the other issues is horseshat cause they can.
At least in one of my conversations with you, you’ve at least admitted you can’t stand him stick to it .

I honestly don’t care but Daks going to be here whether you like him or not

Tag is still pricey as well. And you think Dak is going to wait until he is nearly 28 years old to get his second contract extension?

And what conversation was that? You want to quote? It think he and Zeke are knuckleheads. We are discussing the player, there are plenty of players I don't "like" in this league due to their attitude, but wouldn't mind them being here as players. I don't like Dak because he is mediocre looking for a big contract.

Yep

He performed at a high level in those SB runs much like Flacco and Foles did as well.

Maybe Dak will be able to play at a MVP type level one of these playoffs making a run? IDK

Maybe so, I’ve heard could drop further with injury.

He's a generational talent at Qb. Doctors say he will recover 100%. He is likely going to take a red shirt year as a rookie. BUT, so did Mahomes. Miami is the perfect landing spot b/c they have Fitz to get them through 2020. Sure they could take Herbert but that guy is not on the same level as a healthy Tua.

Talk about nonsense and a credibility problem. Dude, you said Rogers is not a better QB than Dak ? Out loud. In public...lol. Dak is as accurate as Rogers ? Have you ever seen Rogers, consistently, throw darts and hit receivers in stride on long balls ? And drop balls into minute windows, while he’s falling, for touchdowns. While Dak is throwing balls behind and too high and in the dirt. Man, how people don’t believe their eyes anymore... I bet in your universe Jerry is as good a coach as Jimmy.

LOL there’s no universe in which 2019 Rodgers and Garoppolo were better QBs than Dak.

You lose all credibility with nonsense like that.

Give Dak an elite defense and give Rodgers/Garoppolo the mediocre, allergic-to-takeaways Cowboys defense and it’s a different story.

Eli is a joke and Peyton was trash the year he won with Denver, I hope you’re smart enough to know that.
