I dunno but Dak hadn’t broke the pocket that many times in a game in awhile and he was a different player for our offense because of it.

We need to put those legs to use because the arm is average at best.
Well I remember another qb that threw great on the run.

Who besides Cooper is different? BTW, the O-line was at its worst last week, so maybe they shouldn't get so much blame for the rest of the season.

The best thing I can see that improved was Dak rolling out and throwing on the run more often. Not only does he excel at this, but pass rushers are less likely to commit as strongly to rushing him when he does stay in the pocket.

You say who besides Cooper like it's no big deal...

You add a bonafide #1 wr and it makes a world of difference..which is obvious from his impact on the entire offense since he's arrived..the confidence boost it gave dak alone was significant..he's a young qb..this isn't some 10 year vet we have

Cooper was a great addition. From what I see, his presence has (as you mentioned) given Dak confidence. Dak now throws to other receivers like he does Cooper, anticipating their routes, leading them, etc............So why couldn't he do that with them before? They're the same guys, and I very much doubt that they all suddenly got better too, as if Amari is some type of team Viagra.

Why don't you ever talk about the crap supporting cast that Dak had for much of the season?

OL in shambles
No WR for much of the season
No TE

Of course dak was awful for big portions of the season..but he also didn't have much help...

It's not a coincidence the moment he got a legit wr, his play improved
It is actually the best sign that this kid is the real deal to me. Made due with table scraps for much of the season and now that the weapons are better slotted, has performed with the best in the league.

All of this while the OL has been in shambles and the youngsters had to come along.

Respectfully, it would be better to let Seattle game plan for Coop and Elliott, if we knew we could hit Jarwin, Gallup, and Beasley, don't you think?
Yeah, that certainly crossed my mind. Just speculating as to why they would show new wrinkles heading into the playoffs instead of waiting... that is assuming that really is what happened.

I actually I feel that it’s more likely that there really wasn’t a change other than knowing Elliott and the OL weren’t playing and that they’d have to open up the playbook in order to compete... with maybe a little bit of tinkering because their playoff picture wouldn’t change even with a loss.

Yeah..

Fortunately we got an entire season to look back on and while his 4 TD game was impressive he only threw 22 TDs all year and those 4 TD were almost 1/4 of all his TD passes on the season.

Dak was a playmaker on Sunday and if he were making plays like that instead of sitting in the pocket and doing nothing for most of the season then all the criticism would vanish.

Even a realistic response is not good enough for those guys. You have to be all in.

Where was Ken after Indy and Tampa - I did not see much of him!

Hope someone listened to more of it but yesterday at noon the GBag show said there’s whispers that Linehan didn’t put the whole game plan together last week like he had been

This morning Skin said there may have been a scheme change.

Found this interesting. Is Garrett doing more in the game plan side or would this be Sanjay?

So what took so long? Is Garrett shielded from Linehan’s incompetence? I wish the DFW media had the balls to put the issue in the table and call Linehan out.

Hey let me chime in here and ask a question, for a friend....lol

In your opinion is there any game this year that Dak has lost for us? One that we can solely put the loss in him.

Very seldom is it one call, one play or one player that loses a game. However, with better play from the QB position, we would have won both the Carolina game and the 1st Washington game without a doubt. WR and TE open all day against Carolina and Dak just didn't throw the ball or throw it well. Washington, taking a sack and fumbling in the endzone with a WR streaking open down the sideline that he was looking at but didn't throw the ball was a huge hurt in that game.

Garrett has always been a reactionary coach and doesn’t get out in front of things. He stays stubborn as long as possible instead of indentifying problems and fixing them before failure.

The offense has stunk all season but the defense has carried them so why change anything?

It’s been clear for months that we need Dak to use his legs more and sure enough the 1 game he does it our reDzone and big play problems were cured.

Defense and Zeke.

The QB was along for the ride and played to the level that most average nfl starters could do if they were in our system.

If Dak wants to be a special player he needs to use his mobility. His arm talent won’t do much for him. Extending plays with his legs and either running or throwing will bring some much needed big plays to this offense.
See I disagree. As the Cam Cameron video that is posted somewhere on this site talks about...he is growing as a qb before our eyes. The anticipation throws that we see more and more from him are starting to come. His footwork is getting better.

All of these things are normal things qbs progress at but the interesting thing I got from the Cam video was that he was never taught the importance of footwork and how it relates to anticipation throw opportunities. If the footwork isn't right, the windows aren't as obvious and it throws the whole thing off. How we got to this point in his 3rd year and this wasn't addressed earlier, i have no idea. You can see that his confidence in throwing the ball is soaring. This only bodes well for us going forward.

So while i agree...his legs take him to another level, I think he still has a lot of growth from the pocket that still is yet to come.

Just wondering but why didn't we wait to unleash this against Seattle who will more likely not have prepared for it?

Linehan is smarter than all of us and the Seahawks. You see, he put this film out from week 17 to distract the Seahawks from preparing for the same bland playcalls we used the entire season up until week 17. We will unleash our same old offense this weekend.

Bottom line is this offense looks a lot different when Elliot has the day off. It has to, since we only have one back that can run it consistently. Hopefully, whatever we learned from Sunday against the Giants will allow us to mix it up a bit against Seattle.

IMO, it’s because defenses are now playing Beasley, Jarwin and Gallup differently than they did without Cooper on the field. Make no mistake, Cooper’s presence was a big part of why the other guys went off this past week.

I think that after the second Philly game when Cooper exploded, the colts started playing Amari differently than teams had done before. I think it caught Dallas off guard a bit and then Tampa did the same. I think the Cowboys adjusted against the Bucs but it still took some time to get used to the new way defenses were trying to handle both Elliott and Cooper. In the Giants game, they had finally figured out who they wanted to be when Amari is taken away.

Ezekiel will only help things once he’s on the field.

I don’t think that Dallas will be as explosive as they were against the Giants in every game… But I think over the course of the last three games they adjusted to how the defenses would be playing them going forward.

Troy Aikman never had more than 23 TD’s and we aren’t trying to run a pass happy offense like some teams around the league (KC, Rams, Saints).

Since the first few weeks of the season I have been clamoring for seam routes up the middle of the field. I made the comparison to SEA and how we see Baldwin and their TEs getting vertical in the middle of the field. Which makes the Ss have to respect the deep middle and not always creep up against the run and the flat passes. Week 17 was the first time I can remember, even when Witten was here in the last few years, that we saw a TE streaking up the seam. And look what happened. Hopefully a staple of the offense going forward.

Only an idiot would show their hand against a meaningless game.
