The fact that any of this crazy and unprofessional process of hiring a head coach is plausible is the most succinct explanation of why this franchise has become a three decade playoff failure. It’s the most embarrassing thing I’ve seen from any of the four pro sports teams in the Dallas area. Just completely embarrassing.

To win a championship in today’s NFL requires seriously qualified and competent professional football executives. We don‘t have those at the top of our organization.

Maybe give Jerry five more seasons to prove he’s a football guy?

History tells us he's probably wrong though. Then when you look at Schottenheimers record it's very difficult to envision this as a great hire. This is likely his only interview for HC period. He's not some young up and coming candidate. His ideas, concepts, schemes etc don't appear to be new or creative or even successful.

So I think its a lot less about speculating and more so a strong hypothesis based on the total picture.

I don't blame anyone for being upset.

I get irritated with people crying all season long when we are in the midst of winning and playing well, but being upset when things are bad is fairly rational imo.

I'll also add, it's a wonder you come on here at this point in time, if you hate negativity. This is all pretty justifiable.

Jerry isn't looking for innovation, thinking out of the box, or a revolutionary new strategies.

No guessing needed, Jerry and his idiot boy are 15 years behind every other team in the NFC, that is a fact.

What else is a fact is that Washington took our DC and 10 of our free agents and went further than this trash team has gone in the last 30 years. Again, no guessing involved, this is a fact.

Fans have the right to be pissed, 99% of the posters here are not Jerry boot lickers that blindly support this blatant incompetence.

But who knows. Maybe when Kellen came in for the interview he was told about Witten and he refused. That could have happened. He's a young coach looking to build a career. He's not looking to be a bridge to some high school coach.

So if this is what happened that means Schottenheimer will be the Head Coach specifically to fit the timeline for Jason Witten.

I'm not suggesting it's true but it is very plausible.

I think Moore interviewed with the Saints as well, and I'm sure they wouldn't be offering an incentive based contract with a base salary half that of other coaches while being told he has to groom a player he coached and played with to be his successor.
