Really? Houston below Memphis even tho Houston is still undefeated and Memphis lost? Booooo!!!

Houston is 16th in the AP, 16th in the coaches poll, 16th in ESPN's own "NCAA College Football Power Rankings", and 24th in the playoff rankings (behind three other AAC teams, all of whom UH is ranked ahead of in the other three polls).

Report: Miami officials 'under the impression' Charlie Strong interested

Could Texas' Charlie Strong and Cincinnati coach Tommy Tuberville have interest in Miami's open coaching job?

According to the Miami Herald, school officials are "under the impression" they have interest in the job. Here's what the Herald had to say:

Though public denials would be expected, UM people are under the impression that Texas’Charlie Strong and Cincinnati’s Tommy Tuberville have interest in the UM job.

Strong is considered an appealing candidate if he and Texas part ways, but that likely wouldn’t happen until after the Longhorn’s regular-season finale Dec. 5.

A couple of additional embarrassments like ISU, and he'll be gone. It would not be unwise for him to keep some doors open.

The SEC has been terrible this year.
Tech(2-5 in the Big 12) beat Arkansas on the road by double digits.
So much for the juggernaut SEC West.

Most of the SEC plays a non-conf that would make Baylor proud yet they re somehow immune to that criticism because LSU and Bama will play a single P5 out of conference.

He would do well back in Florida where he has the deep recruiting ties.
All the guys Miami is discussing would work well there based on recruiting ability, which is the most important ability for a coaching staff.

UT is likely hoping Chip Kelly will be the next man in charge. His style and reputation would allow him to recruit easily without much else.
His NFL foray would also place him much like Saban's did with a greater understanding of what it takes to win versus top flight talent every week.

Would be very interesting to see UT and USC in a bidding war for Kelly.

As I told WG, best you guys can hope is that Houston remains under the radar this year so you get at least one more year out of the Coach.
The position has become a stepping stone to bigger pay days and will remain so until they can get in a P5 conference, but you could slide into that old TCU/Boise St role of constantly ranked team from outside the P5 and big Bowl participant.

When the Big 12 expands, I firmly believe it will have to, a consistently ranked Houston could be a draw.

Yeah, the offseason coaching carousel is always interesting, and creates big ripples throughout the sport.

The mindset at UT is one of winning now and always having some of the best talent. Unfortunately for Strong, he's not recruiting too well, given the uncertainty and recent failures. I'd say that Kelly in on their short list.

Wow. Oklahoma State's defense is abysmal. I don't see them losing today's game, but they sure aren't ready for prime time.

The Baylor/TCU showdown will be irrelevant. Replaced by Oklahoma vs. OK State for the Big XII title and probably a playoff spot

what a shame for Baylor ,i thought the Russell injury was a back breaker and i was right. The cowboys Defense is not very good either but they can outscore oklahoma but i would put Notre dame ahead of an undefeated OK st team if they win out.

hard to take the whole conference seriously when you consider the teams ahead of them play actual Defense.i wouldnt be surprised if they miss out again this year.

I'm convinced my Tide defense can carry us to the final 4 teams. ROLL!

Congrats to the U of H Coog fans. Unfortunately their coach will leave probably. I've never seen a team have such a hard time keeping coaches!

the defense certainly offsets the average QB play.
if anything comes back to bite the tide, it will be Coker's play.
