Colorado and Penn State will not get in over Michigan, they all lost big. Wisconsin lost by a score to Michigan, so if they blow out Penn State, maybe they get in over Michigan. That's assuming either Clemson or Washington loses.

Alabama vs Florida looked good for about a minute

I think Alabama could win by only playing defense the entire game

Couple of thoughts

-Alabama going to win another Natoinal Championship, probably
-Weird that Penn State and Wisconsin are about to face for the Big Ten title yet both are considered to not be in the playoff regardless of what happens while Ohio State who's not playing in this game is in the playoff. I'd put the winner of this game and Ohio State, but of course then you leave out a team like Washington.

How do you go for it on your side of the field on 4th down in the first half? Penn State about to get whooped.

It was 16 - 9 end of 1. However, Alabama was looking like they were about to go off, and Flo looked like they were hanging on for dear life.

So Alabama, Clemson, and Washington won their conference titles and were already top 4. you have to assume they stay in.
Is Ohio State the other, or did Penn State's extra top 10 win, conference title, and earlier win over the Buckeyes leapfrog them?

Im assuming OSU stays, but there is an argument tnere.

I think OSU stays as well. PSU doesn't have a single road win vs a team currently with a winning record. OSU beat OU and WIS on the road at night. PSU also has 2 losses compared to 1 for OSU. I see H2H and conference championship as tie breakers, but there is no tie based on resumé, imo.

1. Alabama
2. Clemson
3. Ohio St
4. Washington

Ohio St might stay at 2. Playoffs should be expanded to 8 teams but no more.

OSU will still be in over PSU based on schedule and record. Yes, PSU beat OSU in H2H but it was off a blocked FG for a TD. PSU was embarrassed by UM and also lost to Pitt. If PSU makes it in, it will be to displace either Clemson (who got closed to being beaten by VT) or Washington who has such a weak schedule. Realistically, I think only OSU has a chance at beating Alabama since they did it 2 years ago. Urban Meyer seems to game plan well against Saban. Washington and Clemson (like last year) has no chance but they might knock out OSU during the semi-finals.

"Clemson (like last year) has no chance"?
45-40 final score with Alabama scoring 24 points in the 4th qtr to win it.

But yes, Clemson is not as good as they were last year and Alabama may be improved.
So it would be tough,I agree.
But they certainlycould have beaten Bama last year.

I think 4 teams are perfect. Expanding to 8 teams will mean the conference championships would be even more useless than they are now. If 8 teams were part of the playoffs then the winner of OSU/MI would pretty much mean nothing as they both would probably be in it unless one of the teams got blown out. As it was that game had huge implications.

That all makes sense and I agree with that.

On the other hand there could be 7 teams that deserve to be in and someone sneaks in who shouldn't be or there could be 5 or 6 teams deserving teams with one or two who don't get in.

As a football fan I just want to see more games. Expanding to 8 games this year with this group sounds like fun.

2 years ago Ohio State gets in because of winning a conference championship game when the Big 12 didn't have one, this year they get in without even having to play in one. Seems Ohio State is going to be the golden child of this committee.

You could be right. It helps them that the Big XII didn't deserve to have a team in the playoffs 2 years ago and certainly doesn't have a worthy team this year as well. As a fan of Big XII football it has been difficult to watch them get worse and worse as a conference each season. This trend started several years ago and this season was the worst.

Happy for the 10-2 season by WVU especially as the "experts" said we would finish 7th in the Big 12. We finished third and frankly should have finished second as we completely beat ourselves vs the sooners and that is not taking anything away from the sooners but we gave that game away with mistakes and turnovers of our own.

So we are in the Russell athletic bowl vs Miami.

No problem playing against an old Rival in Miami...was just hoping for a bigger bowl.

The committee must have told these schools their non-conference schedule is more important.
