If we are being honest. Without the meltdown of the Nationals last year... The mets don't go as far as they did.

That will show this year.
Dusty ain't no joke. Collins is.

Yankees are what they are.
If Severino and Iovaldi could get it togetherness then they could contend.

The gauntlet has been thrown down by the Red Sox when it comes to starting pitching...

Their BEST pitching prospect for a guy who's never thrown more than the 102 innings he has this year.

Very, very costly.

Yankees or Mets:

Which teams finishes with better record?

Better placement in division?

Makes at least wild card?

Which coach is on the hot seat?

If they stay where they are......it will get warm :)

Gerardi is not the problem. Shedding dumb "Steinbenner deals" are the issues at hand.

The Steinbrenners know that. They have said this is not on Girardi. I agree and believe them.

Gerardi may retire a Yankee manager.

The Nationals are/will bury(ing) the Mets.

Then why ask the question in the first place if you know the answer?

Us Yankee haters are gonna pounce!

I don't "know" the answer. It's my answer of the two options.:)

I ask, can a Mets fan really pounce? When in last two World Series = 2 wins... Now if you would have said "you get pounced" ,.... Then.... Lol

And just like that 52 games to 51. :)

Having said that, Boston looks like a force right now. The O's are going to fall off, their pitching staff cant keep this up. I love the competition though, makes for an exciting August.

Good luck to the Yanks and may the best team prevail

We are clearly playing for wild card.... But anything else is possible.
The three headed monster is hoping the Yankees don't hit their stride. If our pitching does what we project it to do. All three teams are in trouble vs us in a short playoff series.

The back to back Gaston Jay's World Series teams were nice. I won money both times.

Call me crazy but we are making the Wild Card. I don't know why I am suddenly optimistic. Missed Yankees' glory days. :(

Dude.... I have consistently said that Girardi is in my opinion manager of the year three years running.

While everyone is asking about the sell off, which is necessary in some ways,... He said he is not done with the season. Never was.

Wanna talk about glory days... In m case glory decade...

Opposing teams fans used to cross the street to avoid me in the 90s. I was intolerable.
Championship years: 92, 93, 95, 96, 98, 99 and 2000. (Three outta four and four outta five)
"Cause 7 outta 9 ain't bad"

(Plus the Bulls 2 threepeats)

After trading Chapman to Cubs, we traded Andrew Miller to Indians for Indians 2 of the Top 3 prospects. I think this has something to do with the fact that we might go after Chapman once his contract expires end of this year.

Good trade for the Yankees.

Much to Redvolution's chagrin this wasn't a good Yankees team and it wasn't going to make the playoffs.

Time to rebuild.

Suddenly the farm system has gone from poor to ho-hum to decent.

And by the end of tomorrow could get that much better.

Clear more salary and reload in the offseason.

The Yankees continue to mover out both "dead-wood" (Nova) and guys that have a wee-bit of skin left (Beltran).

Received some nice prospects in return.

The rebuild continues.
