What is your take on all these trades? I personally love them. Can't wait until we shed more salary and start rebuilding the right way. We are on the right track.
Good trade for the Yankees.
Much to Redvolution's chagrin this wasn't a good Yankees team and it wasn't going to make the playoffs.f
Time to rebuild.
Suddenly the farm system has gone from poor to ho-hum to decent.
And by the end of tomorrow could get that much better.
Clear more salary and reload in the offseason.

I'd love to see them outright release Arod.

You just described the Mets, heh
As for Alex Rodriguez, he isn't exactly in the best position to succeed. He's not used to playing off the bench with limited at bats, and he isn't hitting enough in those opportunities to earn more plate appearances. His inability to play a position also kills him. With McCann likely to be the DH when Gary Sanchez gets called up tomorrow, I don't see where he's going to play. Cutting him though isn't great either when they owe him $28 million.
Been a Yankee fan since Reggie and this was a great week......instead of treading water for a few more years they made some moves that might ignite the next dynasty
We have never been great with promoting prospects but we will get a good look at Gary Sanchez-C,
Aaron Judge-OF, Tyler Austin-1B, Luis Severino- SP, Ben Gamel- OF and that is before the real blue chippers we just got hit in a couple years...add that to our prodigious war chest and subtract ARod, Tex, CC and their salaries and I am ecstatic....could we even dream of Bryce Harper, Manny Machado, Mike Trout or Jake Arrieta and Jose Fernandez in the future
Agreed.
Watching this team over the last 4 years has been wretched.
It's been like watching a corpse rot.
Let'em have a 70 win season, get a plum draft position and move on to next year with more "kids" in the lineup.
There's no sense hanging on to him either. He's useless as a player. And he's taking up a valuable roster spot.
Release him, let him collect his money and finish his career 4 homers short of 700.

Yeah. 4 short right up the buttocks!
You know... Years ago when they gave him new deal... The talk was... They did it for the home run record,,, to bring it back to the Yankees. Since then he has been disgraced.
Never?
That mid 90s run that netted 5 WS in 13 years and playoffs just about every year was farm-core.
and it took Stein being suspended to give them a chance....Stick Michael did it while George was gone.....the Bosses never think that we can or should rebuild....even now Cashman had to beg Hal and Hank....they only think in terms or ratings and attendence
That doesn't change my point. ;-)
Yep, they want it both ways.
But even then Jeter, Mo, Pettitte, Posada and Bernie all spent several years in the minors......none of them were fast-tracked....they have always been reluctant to hand things over.....that is what makes this sell-off so amazing....it really is a dramatic reversal
One rating service has the Yankees as the #2 farm system in baseball.
