One thing about Barkley, and I hate to admit this, is that he’s similar to Emmitt in that he never takes a hit. Very valuable trait as he has a chance to have a long career. Good thing he plays for the dysfunctional Giants.

You won't see me dogging Barkley. I know the weapon he presents.
Maybe the Giants should get rid of him now because Toruk thinks RB's are a dime a dozen.
    Maybe a 4th rounder?

And I think, using a team that just participated in a Super Bowl was probably not the best team to make your point with ...

I'm open minded but will choose believe the two Barry Sanders negative yardage records linked in this thread over your opinion for the time being. Feel free to disprove them, though. I'll be anxiously awaiting your findings.

Or I could read the post you made to start this thread, where that was your entire point. We are 13 pages into your butthurt over being wrong on the Zeke pick (I was too, but I can admit it) so its really not about my reading comprehension.

The funny thing is that the last time a cheap plug-and-play RB did work for this team it was Darren McFadden in his first year - and 90% of this board roasted Jerry for the move.

Its not the 90's, its much easier to spend money on a RB now. The Salary Cap is five times as much as it was when it took effect with Emmitt Smith's extension, but the highest paid RB in the league only makes twice as much.

well, they did play behind awesome OLs

BTW, Tony never had anywhere near the load of Emmitt (but there was a guy named Preston Pearson who spotted him from time to time :)

the best backfield I've ever seen included Duane Thomas, Calvin Hill, and Walt Garrison ... all 3 were critical pieces and cost a pretty penny. Garrison was a PB when the Boys spent a top pick on Hill, a year later another top pick on Thomas. They stomped Miami that year for their first SB win ... arguably the best team in NFL history.

The Dolphin learned their lesson, added Mercury Morris to a tandem of Kick and Csonka ... the only undefeated team every.

I thought Zeke was not worth a the #4 pick. I'd have traded down for more picks and drafted Henry in R2.

That said, investing in a RB is not dumb, but overworking them is real dumb.

Well, we like to think of ourselves as adorable. See Telephone here. She's usually cute.

What exactly was I wrong about on Zeke. I said great player. Terrible resource allocation.

Where are the holes in this argument?
