Well in fairness we were told the superstar was out of shape and couldn’t play defense. That ain’t Giannis who’s also a NbA champion but at the same rime this is the compensation I would’ve loved to have gotten for Luka. Seems like a over trade to me.

They could’ve still traded Luka for adequate compensation, including a young prospect and a boatload of first round draft picks, and they still would’ve been a lottery team.

It’s tough to say though. Mavs were 6-3. There’s an argument to be made if they picked better or worse they don’t get Flagg. Let’s remember the Mavs did a coin toss when the the Bulls. That toss doesn’t happen with a win or loss

In your what if scenario, If the adequate compensation (player/players that matched Luka's salary) immedietly went down with a season ending injury/injuries the mavs still trade away Quentin Grimes shortly after trading Luka and Kyrie still tears his ACL by trying to do everthing, sure, why not.

I would have like something better for Simons, but we can probably get Vuc on fairly cheap deal in the offseason. Queta is locking down the starting C position, and I think Vuc can do alot of damage as a 6th man
