I really like the pick and really liked him in College and am excited to see what he can do here, but let’s not lose track of the fact that he was picked in the 6th round and not even our first pick of the round. We picked a corner with no shot to play on defense this year ahead of him instead of picking him. My point being let’s tap the brakes. I hope he does here what he did in college, BUT if the team realistically expected him to play a role on offense this year similar to what everyone is saying in this thread he would have been picked much earlier. Reminds me a little of how Tolbert was going to put us over the top last year. I’m not saying he won’t be a factor day 1. Im just saying there is a better chance he won’t.
100% agree with you..

But..

It’s a 6th round pick and what the NFL viewed as a negative which is his size may turn out to be wrong and it was his strength.

It’s going to be interesting watching this guy.

Defenses will have a hard time SEEING Vaughn coming behind those Big Fellas on the OL. Just be sure to keep him outta pass protection. THAT could get ugly.
exacty. Thats how u beat teams like the niners and the Eagles. Make em guess.

Whatever he did at KC State can get thrown out the window. The NFL is not KC State. He will not see those huge holes to run through in the NFL and he is going to get hit by bigger stronger faster guys. If this kid makes the team it will be for gimmick plays only, or he has to add about 10 lbs to his frame without losing his quickness. Turpin was a star in the XFL with a lot of players better than college teams. You see how Turpin did not light the league on fire. Deuce won't either. Nothing against the pick, but it is the 6th round where most picks don't make it.
You can't even get his college right. KC state?? LOL.

Also… lotta mileage at the collegiate level. But he has a small frame - so it might not be the concern it would be for a bigger back. (IE: smaller dogs tend to way outlive large breeds because they tend to maintain structural integrity - while larger breeds develop skeletal andjoint degeneration at a noticeably higher rate. I don’t mean to suggest that the player is comparable to ‘a dog’ - just trying to illustrate a probability.)

This. People are worried about him lasting with his size.

He was a 6th round pick. Even if he is an electric playmaker for only 3-4 seasons. Who cares? A+ pick.
exactly. U get it. In this league thats the real window. 3-4 years. Thats all that matters. I agree. We nailed this pick. Might be the steal of the draft.

He’s listed at 176 pounds and he may not even weigh that much. I don’t jump to conclusions on a player based on their college highlight reel. The NFL is a different animal. I’m not saying he’s not a good player. I’m concerned about his size. Try reading my comments! I don’t see him getting a lot of opportunities carrying the football this upcoming season if he makes the team. The Cowboys may have a different plan for him. We’ll see what they say at the post draft presser.
Sproles was drafted at 5'6" 187 lbs.

Had a similar career at Kstate as Deuce. The 1 inch height difference is probably the 10 lbs difference. They are about as similar as two players can be, imo.

I don’t agree it will be a strength but it definitely is going to be interesting watching this guy. his arms will be shorter for pass catching and pass protection and behind guys who are 6’6” there is little difference between 5’5” and 5’9”. Defenders mostly see you around and between, not over.

It like I said I’m definitely excited to see him. I’m only saying tap the brakes.

Midget man Vaughn, yup he'll be a kick or punt returner and see plenty of time behind Dak.

So funny... I had a friend that messaged me about this kid when he was picked. He is SO versatile. He can return punts, play him in the slot, he can take snaps as a tailback, and use him on draws and screens. He runs 4.3 - 4.4 but man... I think he is faster than that when he breaks. He is rarely caught from behind and when he makes an appearance on the offense. The defense will have to account for him. This kid is a weapon. Not comparing him to TD but this kid can score at any point on the field at any moment. He will be fun to watch.

Majority of scouts would agree with you. That’s why he went where he did.
