thanks for your enthusiasm....
Some people have the god given ability to cheer for the team, and still speak realistically about their chances. Some do not.
thanks for your enthusiasm....
How are they going to prove it until the play 16 games?
Because at the end of 16 games, and they fall on their faces, you will adios this site for a month and start this same chant again next season. Like so many others who lay claim to good times are just around the corner, and then when they aren't, disappear like the lady in tights who helps the magician.
Latin, you are not alone here. The Hope and Fun Bunch all do this to one degree or another. I have yet to see those predicting 10 wins each season over the last three EVER come back and say, "You know, I was just wrong."
Much less the ones predicting 11, 12, 13, and for gosh sakes 16 wins and the SB.
I think what annoys is the Hope crew every year telling me, "It's easy to predict doom and gloom." Then when my doom and gloom comes to pass, which is not what it is at all, but may be in your Latin mind, not once do you acknowledge I had a better handle on the team. You ignore what you said last year and rinse and repeat the same Hope you brandish all off season, finally culminating into a crescendo in training camp.
You are waiting until the season when they break out, and I guarantee, you and every other Hopeful fan will be bragging like you invented sex.
We All Suffer After Losses.
Or are you and the other hostile but hopeful fans not getting that?
Seattle? They are much better than the Saints.
I meant to focus on this week only and not look ahead but yes, Seattle is going to be a tough game.
I dont leave the site because Cowboys lose at the end of the season. IM here yr round. If that was directed at me. 1. Im just as critical of this team as i am on board with what they are doing. 2. I dont know if you have read many of my posts. But Ive been on both sides of pros and cons since i been posting here. 3. I just dont go to the degree of the psychopaths that declare WW3 on Jerry Jones. If thats what youre looking for in my posts then i just suggest you ignore me and dont read what i have to say. 4. I would rather you do that then come into a thread and tell me im going to disappear if this team loses at the end of the yr.
So saying all that what was the reason for all that? 5. I dont suffer because the Cowboys lose. When the games over i get my girl and go out, or have sex. Something that i just do in everyday life. Come back and post opinions. Love the Cowboys but they dont consume my life. 6. We are all here to post opinions on the team we cheer for. Well some of us cheer for. I post and people respond. If you dont like it, dont read it. 7. I know people are posting because they read one part of the post and took it and ran. I dont care. 8. But if you want to get into a debate read the whole thread and get a bette ridea of where i stand on the team. Instead of trying to tell what im going to be doing at the end of the yr. Because my posts and thread are year round.
1.That is your opinion of what you are as a fan.
2. Because you are prolific as a poster, I read quite a lot of what you say.
3. This has been your caricature of fans who hold Jerry accountable. Like the initial post in this thread, you label others in an offensive way, with the implication those fans are irrational and cannot control their emotions, while you write what amounts to emotional commentary about the team without a great deal of substance at times. Your assessments of what transpires doesn't speak X's and O's as much as how you feel about the results. Just an observation from reading your words for going on two seasons now.
4. Then don't disappear. As I stated, I read your posts, and your hiatus after the season are much like others who lecture those on their fandom and then take a powder when the results are in.
5. Didn't say that at all. But your comments indicate you think those who call out what they see as weaknesses don't. It was clear in your OP in this thread and the usual temperament of your posts and comments in chat on game day. You called us out. I am just responding that I can make a critique of this team which explains what I think will happen and still be saddened if and when it does. The real fan banter employed by some seem to think guys like me who hold the franchise accountable for their mistakes relishes the results. Just clearing that air.
6. And this underscores my point. You decide you know what people think, then post it as if you have dominion over what is appropriate for a fan of this team. You decided if someone were to have the temerity to suggest the defense isn't good, that he is not a fan or cheers for the team. You said as much in chat during the 9ers game, because I was there and responded to you. But you ignored my comments. No problem, chat moves quickly and we can't see everything. But you surely were "getting on people" for their angst.
7. Again you assume what people are doing. I seldom post much when I agree. There are a great number of people who will jump in and add their two cents when things are obvious. So if I single out a portion of your post, I read it all, and agree with some of it. My basic gripe is your continued calling out fans and labeling them as trolls or whatever the soup du jour is today for your anger.
8. Did read it, saw you trying to walk back your comments a bit. I disagree with your assessment of the team and especially the defense since you were one of the more vocal posters about the top ten rating last week, and seem to have ignored the fact they fell to 21 this week against what amounts to a rookie quarterback. Stated that in my initial post to you. I see your comments about a team filled with guys trying as emotional with little substance.
But here's a fact. You post it here, you probably will have to defend it to someone. Telling me not to read it is cherry picking your audience. I see little from the hopeful crowd in ignoring posts where people discuss the downside of things like Romo, Garrett, or Jones. They read it then begin their ridicule and troll calling. So if your idea of your post is they are sacrosanct to response, then this is a wake-up call.

Or you may start your own board and close it to anyone but those who agree. I seem to recall a pretty popular guy around here that took his ball and went home because he couldn't control the dialog.
Let me know how that works out.

If you have been there since the very first Cowboys game you are a true blue Cowboys fan.
That is a ton of games. And so much of all the other stuff.
I'm impressed!
The Salesmanship Club in Dallas hosted the annual dinner to kick off the season. Usually one of the preseason games was the Salesmanship game. May have been the last preseason game, I can't remember.
My father was a member and he went with some of his associates. I threw a fit because I wanted to go. So he bought tickets and took me. We had gone to ma Dallas Texans game before. They played Buffalo I think. So this was a treat to do see the Cowboys.
Like most boys I was never much of a reader at the time. But I would read the sports page about the Cowboys. I missed a couple of seasons when I was in the military.
I love this team, as so many here do. My time in grade means nothing actually. Other than attention span maybe. But I sure do like me some Cowboys.
Thanks for your kind words.
Alot of cowboy fans bash this team more then fans of opposing teams or more then media. But whats clear to me is this organization has turned the corner into a new era. They've gone young, and have gotten rid of most of its big overpaid contracts.
They've gone out and brought in and drafted players who arent affraid to put in work and who have an attitude about them. Arent affraid to fight back. In past yrs and even last yr they wouldve folded in that Rams game. No doubt in my mind. And being in the zones chatroom, i saw that same loser mentality in some posters in there. This team isnt the problem, its the fan base IMO. Yes there have been loses for the better portion of 2 decades but im not one to focus on the past but whats right in front of me. And this group has grown on me quick. If this team is going to lose i can handle the losses with a team thats scratching and fighting. Not what we have had to watch in recent yrs with players playing for numbers. Ware's empty garbage time sacks, Romo's empty no huddle yards and Tds in loses.
But something just seems different in 2014. Noway does the team demote Claiborne when he's healthy, noway do we hear Jerry criticize Romo. Noway do the Cowboys stick to the run even with the success its having.
Regaurdless if you want to believe it or not, They have the right set of coordinators surrounding Garrett. And believe it or not this team is better then what they are getting credit for. People talk about the defense is going to implode at some point. Unless they have 7 starters out like they did last yr i dont see that happening. Dallas is getting healthier. This week both Ro McClain should be back, Scandrick should be on the field, T McClain should be ready to get more action, Spencer should be a go. I dont think we will see 2012 Spencer, but i think playing him on 3rd downs with Wilber would be great in creating more pressure then we have seen. Melton is just starting to come into his own. Hes creating alot of havoc inside. But that lack of an outside rush is keeping them guards in Meltons grill with that center help. I think claiborne will be playing in the nickle and will be on the outside on them downs with Scandrick moving inside.
I dont think this team is going far this yr, but i do think they make the playoffs. Its not being a homer either, its just seeing that this team has no quit. And theyre going to win enough games to get in.
Niners L 0-1
Titans W 1-1
Rams W 2-1
Saints W 3-1 Saints D is bad, and their offense struggling because their OL is bad too, Ingram out they dont have a replacement for him at RB
Texans W 4-1 No QB defense getting banged up. Watt nicked up and Clowney out.
Seahawks L 4-2 Loss
Giants W 5-2 Cowboys are going to run all over them. Very short game
Commanders L 5-3 Tough game as always close score
Cardinals L 5-4 Think they have the defense to stop Murray and Romo is exposed
Jaguars W 6-4 Dallas runs over them
Giants W 7-4 Still cant stop the run
Eagles W 8-4 Eagles cant stop the run and Foles is taking a beating so far. By this time in the yr them hits are taking its toll
Bears L 8-5 Murray runs wild but with the cold weather and Romo's back think its a bad game for him with the cold.
Eagles W 9-5 Dallas just has phillys number. Think Kiffins knowledge of what Eagles coach does plays into this from their college days.
Colts W 10-5 Dallas runs over their defense. And Colts have no rungame. Luck cant do it all
Commanders L 10-6 Another tough game.
Or, they think that if the fan base would like, work out and stuff, get in shape, that would translate to super bowls. Many are delusional and think they're complaining will spark some sort of change.
You cant, and i dont because there are plenty of of things this team does that drives me crazy. But when you spend all your time harping about past problems and not acknowledging any of the good this team is doing now. Whats the use? Thats not a team problem, thats a you problem. Because its not bad in Dallas right now. They have some hiccups, but what team doesnt?
It's.... CURRENT problems which are symptomatic of the one, BIG problem. But when you spend all your time harping about past problems

It's the fans keeping the Boys down!
We who don't view this team with rose colored glasses and who don't see everything as all sunshine and rainbows should just keep our traps shut I guess.
