The only plan that's realistic...

Roll with Dak until we find someone better.

In the meantime, see what you have in Lance next summer and consider drafting a QB as well.

What else can you do???

I don't think actively "tanking" and losing on purpose is realistic. It'd be one thing if we had a shot at the #1 pick and Caleb Williams, but we don't.

Not a fan of Williams solely based on that he Looks like Dak . I can't watch that , lmao !

Complaining about Dak is EASY.

A plan for an upgrade is NOT EASY.

This isn't a useful thread. We know Dak's not elite.

Tell us how we land an elite QB. "Try" isn't a plan. We're trying. Trading for Trey Lance is "trying."

Be specific. What's the plan???
We aren't the football minds we don't have to come up with the plan we just know this ain't the plan.

Do you think whining about Dak is original or helpful?

We know he's not elite, and we all wish we had an elite QB.

That's been covered.

So you can either keep whining like a sheep or you can offer solutions.

Many have , bench Dak . It may not be your solution , but It is a Solution . To answer your response , who cares who the QB is . Heck it could be CrapperNick . Point is, Dak is done !

If anything cowboys should develop and extend Lance on the low. SF is able to do what they are doing cuz purdy is playing for peanuts. As soon as they give purdy his big contract it’s a wrap. They lose a ton of their guys. I think key in this league is a low qb contract. You cant extend dak knowing his best years are way behind him and that’s not saying much

49ers lucked into an elite QB.

Honestly, i'd find Scott linehan if hes available. Bring him in as a QB guru. Have him teach Trey the 2016 offense. when he thinks he's ready, cut him loose.
if it looks bad trade Parsons for the #1 pick.
There, problem solved!

If only it were as simple as trading Micah for the #1 pick.

No team that has access to Caleb Williams will even entertain the thought of trading that pick.

Honestly, I'm not sure that we even need the number 1 pick for a QB replacement. I could see QBs like Ewers (https://www.nfldraftbuzz.com/positions/QB/1/2024) from Texas, Pennix from Washington, and Leonard from Duke being available where we probably will be drafting. We will have one more year of Dak under his contract next season. So, basically give them a 1 year Aaron Rodgers treatment. Let them sit for a year or let them on when they are ready. There won't be any rush to get them on the field. Then, when they're ready, let them play.

Jerry doesn’t want to let him go the same reason he held onto Zeke and Jaylon smith too long. He’s scared they will go somewhere else and make him look bad.

When in reality an extension would be the worse thing you can do.

You cannot resign this guy. You wanna give him next year to prove himself fine but anything less than an nfc title game this or next year snd goodbye
IMO, you shouldn't give him next year to prove himself. There is nothing to prove. He isn't going to miraculously become an efficient great QB in 2024. He has reached his ceiling and the Jones knows it. Heck he knows it. This should be the year to "prove" himself. Not 2024. If you bring him back in 2024, you're wasting your time.

They lucked into a serviceable qb playing on a rookie deal. As soon as they pay him that team can’t afford all the guys they have and the team starts hurting.

Letting a 3 legged rabbit throw the football is an upgrade from Dak

If Dak is given an extension you are guaranteeing failure.

I don't care if there is currently no plan in place for life after Dak. I don't care if the Lance trade really was just for a 3rd string QB.

The unknown right now is better than the known that Dak brings you.

You will NEVER find a high level QB if you strap yourself to low level QBs.

We've not ever looked for a legit QB since Romo got the job. That was almost 20 years ago!

The only thing worse than having Dak as the QB is that Jerry doesn't care that Dak is the QB.
We haven't drafted a QB in the 1st round since Aikman in '89 let that sink in.

120+ QB rating and 12-0 (including playoffs) in games he finishes.

My plan would be to shed Dak’s contract asap and start to build the team inside out. Purdy is finding his potential in part because the team was strong and physical and established. I think the Cowboys are rotten at the core and it starts with their approach in the middle of the D line, linebacking, and O line. They aren’t physical, tough, or even a smart team.

The TE pick over the O lineman in the draft is an illustration of their thinking. Many on this forum ate it up as that wasn’t their kind of lineman. Just like the ridiculous Kellen Moore crap from McCarthy.

Philly and SF prove you don’t have to hunt for elite QBs. You just need to be ready for one that has that potential.

Don’t know the plan but to continue to try to plug a round peg into a square peg, you would think after 20 minutes, it’s not going to fit.

Look at the team around him. Let’s circle back when they pay purdy and can’t afford to pay most of their guys.

Put purdy on a not stacked team.
