Jails are funny that way they seem to incarcerate all the innocent people. :laugh2:

You can think thats all funny and what not but there are more than likely thousands of people especially in the south that are in jail for rapes and murders they did not convict. Mostly due to 'good ole boys.' Read about Marcus Dixon's story and get back to me.

Thats what really gets me. The 'cops' in question here are more or less Parks and Wildlife. You know the guys that jack with you if you dont have a fishing license or the types that jack with you if youre driving on the beach. They arent ecologist or environmentalists the are the equivalen of thugs with a badge and if not for some arbitrary law would be considered extortionists in every shape of the word.

The fact they asked for a safety inspection first should send up red flags. That measn they didnt have probable cause to pull him over based on teh way he was driving. This is the 'you had a busted taillight crap that cops use all the time. The if he asked him to do a field sobriety test on the boat why ask him to do another one?

The whole thing stinks. It sounds to me more like a cop thats looking for an excuse to arrest someone rather than having a real reason. Its typical but at the same time despicable.

Once again they are innocent of everything they are guilty of.

A few innocent yes. Thousands? highly unlikely.

Just shoot them? You have issues my friend. You do not allow a suspect to go out to their vehicle until your sure it is safe. And from what he was saying his wife was pretty mouthy and I am sure that threw up some red flags in the officers minds. Your probably one of those people who think the cops should just shoot the gun out of the guys hand instead of shoot him. LOL

I agree. I think people see things only from their perspective. Cops are trained to be aware of these so called red flags and those who fail to do so have been killed. Police like anyone else wants to finish their shift and go home to their family. No doubt there are cops who have no business enforcing the law but many are trying to do a difficult job and most do a good job.

You have issues thinking that cops should have free reign to do whatever they want.

She was mouthy? Let me pat down your wife and see how she likes it.

At the end of the day shooting them is an escalation of that. Thomas Jefferson talked of life liberty and the pursuit of happiness. What they did got 2 of thee so why not go for the trifecta.

As for the last thats just stupid. They were unarmed and the cops knew that. If someone was wielding a weapon at me you can bet your bottom dollar that Im not aiming for their hand if i choose to use my weapon.

But that wasnt the case. They took two unarmed people, one of which was saying she was a teacher and could easily get ID but they chose to point their guns at them even after they were restrained.

Give me a break. Why not just shoot them?

Quite frankly removing my liberty for no reason especially when I am unarmed is not looking out for my safety. Thats just cops being gung ho.

When the person in question says they have identification in the car and not allowing them to go get it thats just them being pricks. I don't care what went down elsewhere, there is no excuse for that.

Similar justification is used to beat restrained people. They continued to point their guns at them. To what end. Shoot them if they try to get away?

When the cuffs went on, the guns got put away. I didn't have a problem with it. My wife didn't either, she just wasn't used to be frisked. I was annoyed however, that we had to sit there in handcuffs until the principal got there rather than allowing her to get her badge, but that's probably protocol. Who's to say there weren't more people in the car and even if she was allowed to get her badge, with the alarm going off how are the police supposed to know that we even belonged there.

Protocol my backside. They could have taken the keys and gotten it themselves especially considering there were several of them.

Who said cops should be allowed to have free reign? They should be allowed to do their job according to their training.

If YOU tried to pat down my wife we would have an issue. If I cop needed to pat her down I would not have a problem with it. See what I am saying.

You say they took two unarmed people. Well how did they know they were unarmed until they patted them down?

You are assuming alot for not being there and never having to go into a dark building to investigate an alarm.

And you can think the Jail is full of the innocent all you want but they are not. Has innocent people gone to jail yes they have but you are kidding yourself to think that the jail is full of innocent people. As for Benson I don't know what happened and neither do you hopefully the truth will come out. I don't want to see any innocent person go to jail but I also expect the police to enforce the law.

Full is a relative term.

The laws here are a joke. 1% of the total population is incarcerated.

As for Benson reasonable doubt now exists and thats all I need to know.

They're very resistable to me. I go to the local no-name donut shop down the street. Yum.

That is what I was kind of thinking, too. Although providing an ID showing she was a teacher at that school is not enough. It doesn't absolve anything. In some cases the ID could be fake. In other cases the ID could be real, but that does not mean the teacher wasn't still trying to rob the place. It could have been an inside job. The best thing probably was to just wait for the principal to arrive.

Police do not write the law they enforce them. Talk to your congressman or senator if you don't like the laws. As for Benson he is innocent in the court of law until proven guilty other than that you nor I know what took place. Could the cop be in the wrong? Sure he could and could what the officer said be the truth? Yes it could. Hopefully the court will be able to determine that. I have nothing against Benson but if he broke the law then he should go down like anyone else.

Thor and Vera never brought my boat back and I had to walk for many miles to get back to my truck. I later got word that Thor had contracted Gonorrhea and in turn struck Vera down with a bolt of lightening. I suppose, looking back, that it wasn't such a good day after all.

Ouch...DD?...I'll give you the munchkins but much prefer the crack like quality of KK...Although, I concede that some Mom & Pop places can probably make some better than them both (I can think of one in Brooklyn that is pretty good).

If you hate this country so much why don't you try another one. See how much freedom you might have there.
