Anyone can look at your history and see what you are.

There is nothing substantial to say to you because you ignore it and move on to the next "we still need T.O." thread.

You went on and on earlier this year about how Romo was struggling and he needs Owens to be effective.

Well seems to me he has three 300+ yard games ..... how is Owens doing?

I am sorry that you and your "brother" stilltheguru put all your heart into Terrell ...... he has a habit of disappointing anyone who trust him.

If the idiot could keep his mouth shut ..... he would be here right now.

He could not ...... so there is no reason to keep picking at the sore but.

Let it go.

Yet you have ignored the post of me arguing when people say that romo sucks, and that he should be benched. You ignored me predicting us to be 9-1 at the 10 game mark (with out TO) How I have said he needs not TO in particular but someone like him. I say him because he was on the team, and no one else was here to replace his production when he was cut. Now Austin has popped up, Hopefully Miles continues. What about the thread telling everyone that Romo is unfairly blamed, it wasnt his fault in the Giants playoff loss. Nah dude you automatically grouped me in with those "TO is the end all be all" guys. I have even said that I would not resign him after this year. I have said if the the team ends up better without him then great. My thing was that he was that he was blamed for the season last year when it was actually injuries to Romo and Felix that was the problem. If Romo stays healthy TO has 14 or so TDs and we are in the playoffs easily. I just say what it is...We underachieved and the media and fans wanted blood for not meeting our expectations and he was the easiest target...he was a media scapegoat, but I dont think TO is the end all be all.

Now hear is what im talking about you letting the over the top TO lovers make you make blind statements. TO would not be this bad if he was playing with Romo, and I think we win one of those two games (if not both) if TO was here (hence my post "the divorce was bad for both sides". Not that Romo missed TO, but TO is missing ROMO as well. Im not one sided on this thing at all. Think about all the QBS TO had success with Steve young, Garcia, McNabb, Romo. You see a trend, they are all MOBILE. Well Romo is Mobile, he gives TO time to do what he does. TO He sucked with Bledsoe, TO sucks with Trent Edwards. TO hasnt lost as much of a step as yall think, Romo was just hurt, and the line sucked last year combined with Romo deciding he wants to be a pocket qb like brady, and now he is playing with Im super quick to check down Trent Edwards, Thereford he is Sucking again, but him and the romo we saw sunday, along with felix and miles could have been something serious. Hopefully we are still something serious without him. My whole TO argument is not about TO...(screw TO he has millions and is set) but I thought the TEAM...THE TEAM, THE TEAM THE TEAM would be better with him. If I end up being wrong, I am glad I am.

I actually have no problem with T.O.

I wish he could have kept his mouth shut and retired a Cowboy.

If you are pro Cowboys first, thats great.

If you notice .... you approached me in this thread .... not visa versa

I was not grouping you in with stilltheguru until you jumped to his defense in this thread.

Yeah, I figured that there somehow one of the tags were getting deleting.

Dbair does that alot as well, so maybe your explanation explains why it happens.

man i have to go back and look, I dont even remember jumping to anyones defense....Okay I see what you are talking
about. I wasnt trying to jump to anyones defenses. I stated both sides then. TO isnt what he used to be, but hes better than Roy,
with less around him. The haters underrate and blame him unduly just to work the nerves of the TO backers/lovers and vice versa, and facts are
ignored and therefore conversations like this one still arise. For Instance you automatically thought my Roy Williams uncapped year question had something to do with TO, and the thread was called dumb. My thing was just "IF" his play continues as is why pay that money so if we have to pay Miles, (if he keeps it up) and we have to go get another receiver we wont have extreme amounts of money spent on receivers.

It doesnt explain that much, because you cant tell the difference between someone like him (and I dont know much about him, so its not a shot a still the guru) and like me. You, DallasEast, Hostile, Theeebs, all put on blinders for the sake of being sarcastic.

Now I know this will probably evoke some kind of sarcastic response from you or others, but If you check my post I have not said anything Stupid like "We should have kept TO over Romo." The main thing I said was that I would not have eaten 9 mil this year without a proven replacement. Now the last two games Miles has stepped up, hopefully that will free Witten back up down the field (which we have been missing).
I assure you that I do not have blinders on. I will plead guilty to the sarcasm however. One difference is I don't mean any of it personally and many people do take it personally. I have bad days just like anyone else.

This is a really good post.

I know you aren't responding to me, and I apologize for jumping in.

There's nothing wrong with anyone being a TO fan. The son of a gun could really play and his work ethic was awesome. I have never said any different. Not even when he was with the 49ers and celebrated on the star. His last year here did NOT resemble the first 2 years here in any way, shape, or form.

His production was down. His team first attitude was gone. Yes, I give him credit for team first his first 2 years here. I believe it was. We needed him. No doubt about it.

I don't believe we need him now. I really don't. I think 2008 was not an aberration. I think he is past the point of being a #1 guy and without the team being first he is not an asset, he is a liability. I think the same of any player, not just him. Jerry Rice was the greatest WR of all time. He retired because he could not stomach being the #4 guy for the Broncos. As much as I admire him as a truly great player, I have a problem with that. Either you love the game enough to keep playing and contributing to a team effort. Or, you're all about yourself. Jerry Rice, the greatest WR of all time, had himself above the team at that point. I am glad he retired.

I am glad Jerry got rid of TO. Just as you shouldn't have to apologize for being a fan of his, I don't feel I should have to apologize for being glad he is gone. I don't deny he might have better stats than Roy if still here, but I don't think the Offense would be as open and Miles Austin would not be doing what he is. TO is simply too demanding that he be placated. I do not want that on this team. I don't want a repeat of 2007 where we are a fantastic team, he gets injured and the team can't overcome his injury. Oh yeah, I openly acknowledge we lost because he wasn't 100% and we relied on him. I always have.

I prefer what we have going right now, to what we had in 2007 for one reason. The team seems more focused as a team and does not need to rely on one guy who is not the QB. I like that this team relies now on Tony Romo. That is where I have always wanted the focus to be. I feel bad for the guy that he is so maligned for such silly reasons.

Bottom line, TO needed this team, this team did not need TO.

Finally a breakthrough...when I said you (along with others) had on blinders it wasnt that I didnt think you new any better, It was that some #81 fans can be so obnoxious that whenever his name was mentioned it was he sucks this, hes washed up that etc. I personally think TO discusssions would not be so prevalent if both sides were more reasonable.

And you are right TO needed the cowboys more than the cowboys needed TO. Thats why I still predicted 9-1 without the guy. TO cant help a team with check down qb and a terrible offensive line and an even worse coach. Yeah TO is missing some dallas right now, but then again he new that, thats why he was depressed and crying when he was cut. He new he wasnt going to the Pats or the colts (the only two non mobile qbs that he could succeed with) or back to donovan.

The only thing Im not sure about is if Miles could not exist with TO, but thats neither here not there, TO is gone.

I am going to share something that I never thought I would. I cannot give you exact quotes any more. Take this with a grain of salt. I am in no way the ultimate authority, and heaven knows I cannot back this up with concrete evidence from a named source.

Do you remember last year coming out of Training Camp when Romo predicted a breakout year for Miles Austin? The rift between Tony and TO started at that point I have been told. TO took that as an affront to his place on the team. I do not know what was said. I do not know what lies behind it. I do know I was "warned" that the team was in for a bumpy year because TO was going to turn on Tony because of that.

Like I said, take it with a grain of salt. I'll stand on my record here with regards to these bits of news, but please don't anyone take this as the gospel truth.

Very interesting stuff.

Terrell Owens has the type of personality where you never know what will and will not offend him.

Well Hostile I actually agree with everything you've said, first time ever. The Romo thing is interesting since I was the one that bashed him the most in the off season.

He has done the things I said he would need to do to become a Super Bowl Quarterback, and that's mainly not turning the ball over. I think almost as big as Romo's game was Garrett's play-calling (another guy I blasted in the offseason).

Garrett it seems has actually done some great scouting against other teams defenses and this past game if you go back and look, the offense is lined up with about 15 seconds on the play clock, giving Romo an opportunity to make fake snap calls, forcing the defense to show it's hand. This gives Romo an opportunity to change protection, change routes, etc.

It was MY DREAM COME TRUE, I hate it when we have like 6 seconds on the clock coming out of the huddle then Romo has no time to change things.

All in all, Austin is an emerging star, now the defense will have things to worry about. Austin, Witten, Bennett, Barber, Felix, I won't crown anyone yet but if they play like they did against Atlanta for the rest of the year, Super Bowl here we come, yeah I said it.

I dont know so I would not argue it. I will even go a step further and say I would not doubt it if he felt slighted by the comments. TO is sensitive and insecure...it stems from his childhood. All the handsome talk, keeping extremely fit, I love me some me, all stems from insecurity, but If he did feel as if Romo was cutting him out after defending Romo twice, I can see a rift starting. I do know this, and this is Fact....He had no problem with Jason Witten at all. He has utmost respect for Witten and his work ethic. He felt good about Romos abilities but he wished Romo had Wittens mindset. He was truly hurt when the city turned on him after the supposed witten thing because there was no witten thing.

I can also say this, his biggest detractor on the team was brad Johnson. I think others not taking sides with him over Brad Johnson when he was clearly so terrible, contributed.

I never bought the rift with Witten thing from the word go. if you go back and read my posts about it, you will see that for yourself. He is not a bad guy, but he is too needy for a team that is trying to groom a lot of young talent. That is why he is gone.

I don't have us in the Super Bowl. It isn't impossible, but I will say it is improbable. However, I did tell someone back when we were 2-2 that I did think we could and would win the NFC East. I still do.

I can't explain this very well, so please bear with me. In 1989 when we were 1-15 I was not panicked. I could clearly see something in Troy that had "difference maker" written in it. I knew we just needed a few breaks (and believe me, football is all about breaks) and we could improve. Jimmy was NFL Coach of the year in 1990 and we were only 7-9. But I could see the momentum.

In 1991 the games we lost, especially to the Lions in the Playoffs, would have discouraged today's fans to the point of frenzy. I felt a sense of calm. I could see momentum. I met Jim Kelly in the Sky Harbor Airport in Phoenix after the 1991 Super Bowl. It was Valentine's Day 1992 and my in-laws were coming home from a year and a half in New Zealand, Fiji, and Australia. He was a jerk to a couple of my nephews and I jumped on his butt. I told him I hoped he made it back to the Super Bowl so my Cowboys could mop the floor with him.

In 1992 momentum arrived and the Cowboys defense mopped the floor with Jim Kelly.

All season long I have remained calm. Unlike last year, I see momentum. Not going to say it means Super Bowl, but I see momentum. I'm encouraged even though I am trying to temper my encouragement even after a huge win over a very good team.

I know you didnt, but alot did, but that being said he is needy. He needs confirmation and reassurance. He proved it on his show when he kept the paper that Jerry wrote on, to prove to the world that Jerry though he had done his job...as if 38 TDS werent enough.

I continue to state, my TO backing had more to do with RW11 had no proven chemistry, and Crayton is a good 3 but not a 1 or a 2, and Miles was fragile. It was all team oriented, not because of a TO fixation. I felt a few more wins and some confindence we were contenders. Sometimes the best change is to hold pat. I wanted Romo back (some wanted him gone) I wanted TO back, Wade back, Felix and Barber healthy, and make one more run at this thing.

It will be out at the end of the season. There will be a little of stuff like this.

FYI, I am doing a fiction book as well, not about the Cowboys. It is my first ever effort at Fiction. Kind of fun.
