A Touch of Hostility... Week 7

I am going to go STRICTLY with the positive here. Because its all about the team and the win for me.

Roy made a nice run and catch with that slant. Sure he missed a few but I think that is a sign of things to come.

While I dont know if he will have a MAJOR "flashy #1" role, he will for sure be a chain mover. A good 3rd down WR. THAT is Major "progress/keep drives alive" IMO.

Imagine that...someone that doesn't have a personal agenda despite a victory! I like you.

That catch and run on the slant was very good. Roy Williams is a very good receiver and will be fine.

Oh, So Roy's impeccable down field blocking doesn't matter to you now? So hypocritical... As much as you crowed about him in the RW Trade thread, had he enjoyed a big day yesterday you would have crowed about him in your weekly diatribe too. He sucked and thus you omitted him for person rump savings. Whatever works. :laugh2: Have a great day.
I doubt that very much. Where did I do anything but eat crow about Miles Austin? I admitted I wanted the 2nd round Draft pick from the Jets. In fact, 9 times out of 10 because of threads like the one you can't let go I don't go pounding my chest when I am right. Later on, you bet I will. TO got released, I hardly posted that next couple of days. We made the Roy trade, others posted stuff wanting me to crow. I wouldn't. Go look it up. It isn't my MO. I say stuff long after the fact, but even then it is rare that I feel the need to pound my chest because I was right about a player.

You tend to defend those players? Really? lol... I suppose TO is the lone exception. ;)

BS sir. TO was hit harder than anyone has hit the venerable RW11....
Yeah, you're "over the TO stuff." I could have made book on you jumping back into it because of him. You're over him like a floor is over a ceiling.

As I said, TO was not a whipping boy, he was a circus. A whipping boy is someone who isn't performing up to some pre-conceived standard, usually an unreasonable one, but not always.

Romo, Carpenter, Stanback, Roy the Safety, Roy the WR, Spears. Have all been whipping boys.

TO does not fit that category. There have never been weekly threads about how he isn't any good, is made of glass, is not living up to his contract, etc. Wears his hat backwards, is a Christian, has a mustache, plays golf, or sleeps with women. That is a whipping boy. When everything the guy does is under a microscope that points directly back at performance. To my knowledge the fans were never on TO about production in the same way as the players above. They just wanted him to shut the hell up. He couldn't.

There is a difference.

You seem shocked buddy.

Roy Williams has 12 catches, 230 yards, 1 TD in 5 games

Terrell Owens has 18 catches, 242 yards, 1 TD in 7 games

If Roy sucks what does that make your Hero?

You can post one sided post like this but here are the facts.

TO is not a top 5 what he was a few years ago, but he is still better than RW11. If TO was here he would be killing Roys production. But for you to compare TO with Roy when TO has no qb, no Oline, and no offensive cooridinator, you are just using an argument to fit your agenda.

Thats what he does, but tries knock others post. Then when you shoot him down or ask him something reasonable that he has no answer for, he gets ghost.

I was told that Owens is what made Romo look good.

I was told that our O-coordinator sucks and misused Owens.

I was told that Owens would light it up at his new team and make us Rue the Day.

Those are the facts ..... no matter your agenda ...

:)

Actually or should I say allegedly TO "made" Romo according to the TO fan club. Not sure why Romo is doing just fine without TO, but TO is having a hard time without Romo.

I get it Dallas gave up a lot for RW. RW was a first round pick and given a nice new contract. I think most if being honest expected more.

It has not happened yet and maybe it never will. But I do know if management gave up on players as quick as some fans do our roster would consist of about 12 rookies and the fan base 6 games into the year would be getting ready to pull the plug on them too.

I will hand it to you if this were a book it would not look very promising, but excuse me for waiting a bit longer before I bury the guy in chapter two.

I don't agree. They were disliked, but that is not the same thing as a whipping boy.

That is correct, they were very productive, if not likable Cowboys, Roy has been a total bust as a receiver, and a very costly one at that. His lack of production combined with the lost draft picks and his high salary make him a justifiable target for scorn, even if he is a likable character and an above average blocker.

I felt they would miss/missed each other, and Romo did miss him until Miles showed up (which no one expected).

The cooridinator still sucks

Whoever said he would light it up in buffalo was all about wishful thinking. Now did we wish he would, yeah, but I for one was not expecting it.

Like I said from the beginning, the only reason I was upset about TO being released was because I felt he was unfairly blamed for last year, we were paying him anyway, and I didnt see anyone to replace his production, and witten would not be as effective, but I have also said on many occasions, if the team is better, Im all for it because I pull for the :starspin no matter what.

Im not burying the guy. I said next year, during the uncapped year, if the production does not pick up. Someone even said try to get a third or a second for him, and my response was, if he is playing well enough to get a third or a second for him, then why trade him?

Zrin, I think the stats you and others show comparing Roy Williams and Terrell Owens throughout the season strongly show that Terrell Owens is probably washed up.

However, I believe those stats are more of an indictment on Roy Williams.

Basically, Roy Williams, who should be in his prime and yet he has numbers similar to a washed up 35 year old receiver that is on the downside of his career.

At this point, I would say neither Buffalo or Dallas is actually getting the player they thought they were.

Cool. The whole lets bury the guy stuff just grates after a while.

What really cracks me up is that the first opportunity that someone "proves" (I use the word loosely) that they are not great players Dallas fans are ready to cut or trade the guy.

Then they tend to be the first people to complain about lack of depth. Makes no sense to me.

I agree ..... which is why I only use it against the T.O. Trolls.

I am disappointed in Roys play as well ..... hopefully he picks it up.

I just cannot stand the T.O. huggers who are hoping certain players on this team fail to support their pro Owens agenda.
