I agree ..... which is why I only use it against the T.O. Trolls.

I am disappointed in Roys play as well ..... hopefully he picks it up.

I just cannot stand the T.O. huggers who are hoping certain players on this team fail to support their pro Owens agenda.

I hear ya.

Like you, I want the Roy Williams Trade to work out.

Roy Williams is a hometown guy and he wanted to be in Dallas.

The main question I have is does Roy Williams have the ability to dominate, like we have seen Miles Austin do and can he do it on a consistent basis.

I just don't know the answer to that question.

Well, we're 4-2 and beat a very good Falcons team. Stealing a line from Bill Parcells, "put away the anointing oil." Just as I don't want to get too low on losses, I don't want to get too high on wins. Not even one that fits the bill of a dominating win over a good team. There are 10 games left and a lot of work to be done.

.

I SO wish that attitude was more common around here.

Also, I actually like Wade's comment aftere the game.."nice effort by all three units...but plenty of work and improve on".

I would like to here for that crew that was so convinced that Atlanta was FAR better than Dallas....good grief. The season is 16 games, so let enjoy it and see how this thing plays out.

Yeah, you're "over the TO stuff." I could have made book on you jumping back into it because of him. You're over him like a floor is over a ceiling.

As I said, TO was not a whipping boy, he was a circus. A whipping boy is someone who isn't performing up to some pre-conceived standard, usually an unreasonable one, but not always.

Romo, Carpenter, Stanback, Roy the Safety, Roy the WR, Spears. Have all been whipping boys.

TO does not fit that category. There have never been weekly threads about how he isn't any good, is made of glass, is not living up to his contract, etc. Wears his hat backwards, is a Christian, has a mustache, plays golf, or sleeps with women. That is a whipping boy. When everything the guy does is under a microscope that points directly back at performance. To my knowledge the fans were never on TO about production in the same way as the players above. They just wanted him to shut the hell up. He couldn't.

There is a difference.

a whipping boy is just someone you choose to toss vitriol at

His blocking plays a role in their overall success but I hope you're not trying to make the point that downfield blocking is more important than putting up points. As a scoring threat, you cause defenses to take notice and account for where you are on the field. That dynamic in and of itself helps the running game immensely. A great percentage of WRs at the NFL level can block. A much smaller percentage of WRs at the NFL level change games by lighting up the scoreboard. For the amount that we gave up for the garbage man, I would expect him to be doing much more than just blocking. As stated, thank goodness for Miles or else we wouldn't have much to augment our running game and keep defenses honest. You keep recording every downfield block RW11 makes though. Just don't expect me to buy that bootleg game film.

In this case I have to. RW11 has been a terrible investment thus far, but I do believe he will get his act together when he realizes that his contribution has to be greater than it is currently.

I think he has only to look across the field and see the success Miles is having and understand that only full command of the playbook and location expectations on each play in sync with the QB will do.

He's the one that needs to change, despite his inflated opinion of himself. The ability is there, Roy needs to DECIDE to be a factor and insist on his own accountability before he can be taken seriously in the offensive pecking order. He must push his ego aside- period.

In contrast to what his jettisoned buddy in Buffalo thinks, Tony Romo is THE STAR of this team and that will not change in the forseeable future. Romo is proving in front of our eyes that if met halfway- meaning the commitment and desire to be a great player are there- he can assist in that transition from unknown commodity to elite.

Roy's an elite athlete and draft choice but he is not ENTITLED to jack squat, despite the contract. Neither is Bennett, Crayton, Barber, Choice or whoever else hung in the diva's "Buffalo Stance", and I'm not talking about Neneh Cherry either.

That is correct, they were very productive, if not likable Cowboys, Roy has been a total bust as a receiver, and a very costly one at that. His lack of production combined with the lost draft picks and his high salary make him a justifiable target for scorn, even if he is a likable character and an above average blocker.

Grand slam and I dont mean Dennys.

Whoever said he would light it up in buffalo was all about wishful thinking. Now did we wish he would, yeah, but I for one was not expecting it.

Belicheat was kind enough to point out two years ago that he could no longer beat the jam and was handily contained in a cover two.

the coordinator still sucks...that was referring to Red Head Genius. Miles for two weeks and tony and miles together are making him look good.

they have no coordinator...bills fired the OC right before the season, and Juaron sucks at calling plays.

One was a cowboy reference the other was a bills reference.

never that. I pull for the cowboys. I dont want the boys to fail because of him being gone. I was a cowboys fan before TO, and before Jerry Jones was the owner.

This board just tends to think everyone should hate TO, and if you dont you are accused of loving him more than the team. I know there are a number of receivers that I would take above TO, but none were on this team at the beginning of the year.

I actually don't hate TO. Just like I didn't hate Q. Their zealous fans on the other hand, are annoying, narrow minded individuals who do tend to take more joy in the Cowboys failing than seems wise to me. I won't pretend to understand a "Cowboys fan" saying "I can't wait until TO blows up so I can rub it in around here." Yeah, the rest of us are supposed to be all giddy about that kind of commentary and give TO a break.

Well, not me. I said last year that I thought he was closing in on washed up and only had one good game for us in 2008. I have never maintained that Roy is a better overall WR, but I do want him to blow TO out of the water this year. he isn't.

I really don't care, because the guy who got TO's job, Miles Austin, is blowing him out of the water. I couldn't be more thrilled about it. Earlier this year I credited our Scouting staff for the WR Corps. 3 UDFAs, a 7th round pick and a 1st round pick. I understand why Jerry felt he had to go get Roy. The rest of those guys are the direct result of our Scouting department.

It's time to give credit where it is due. This organization is not the inept bunch of bumbling fools some around here portray them to be. Not even Wade, and I am no fan of his.

S.Star.....Rossum being cut....he sure froze on the single runback he had...he showed either no instinct for evasive action, or just doesnt have anything left.....He froze on the play--stood straight up and created a "jacked up" lowlight....

maybe he shows better in practice to earn another week....but all of a sudden we have "white shoes" Crayton back there so.......

Rossum strained his hamsting on that play.

Nice write up, but Miles Austin = Rocket Ismail? I can see the breakaway speed, but Austin's play is much more based on physicality (size & demeanor). If anything, Austin could be a bigger stronger Terry Glenn.

Both have great seperation and YAC ability. But Miles Austin is Irvin-like in his ability to shed tackles. I can see why so many compare him to a young Terrell Owens.

Aikman made a point in the broadcast to say that the Cowboys are only a few plays away from 6-0. That's true.

I think we all know that the Cowboys outplayed the Broncos and should have won that game, if not for shooting themselves in the foot again and again. And we all know that we almost beat the Giants despite a wretched performance from Romo. If we would have pulled that game out with a -4 turnover margin, it would have been incredible.

Still, let's point away the anointing oil, as you said. Before the Falcons game, I said that the Cowboys are clearly a better team, but they've proven that they are their own worst enemy.

Provided this team can avoid stupid mistakes and penalties, they are one of the best teams in the NFL. I really believe that. But given the track record this season, that's hardly a given.

I know people can be ridiculous. Me and my brother had an all out argumentt b/c he is rooting against dallas because TO is gone. Did I think he should be gone, NO. Did I think blame was placed on him by Most, Yes. Do I think Romo should of Stuck up for him like he did Romo when Romo was catching heat, yes, BUT with all that said I am a :starspin:starspin:starspin (three times for emphasis) and TO got an additional 6 million, and might get one more contract.

It doesnt explain that much, because you cant tell the difference between someone like him (and I dont know much about him, so its not a shot a still the guru) and like me. You, DallasEast, Hostile, Theeebs, all put on blinders for the sake of being sarcastic.

Now I know this will probably evoke some kind of sarcastic response from you or others, but If you check my post I have not said anything Stupid like "We should have kept TO over Romo." The main thing I said was that I would not have eaten 9 mil this year without a proven replacement. Now the last two games Miles has stepped up, hopefully that will free Witten back up down the field (which we have been missing).

Anyone can look at your history and see what you are.

There is nothing substantial to say to you because you ignore it and move on to the next "we still need T.O." thread.

You went on and on earlier this year about how Romo was struggling and he needs Owens to be effective.

Well seems to me he has three 300+ yard games ..... how is Owens doing?

I am sorry that you and your "brother" stilltheguru put all your heart into Terrell ...... he has a habit of disappointing anyone who trust him.

If the idiot could keep his mouth shut ..... he would be here right now.

He could not ...... so there is no reason to keep picking at the sore but.

Let it go.
