There is a huge difference between intentional murder and reckless manslaughter. If Brent had been charged with murder he would be gone. Dragging the FO into this when it is a vastly different scenario is crazy

"Cuffed and stuffed" as the cops call it. I like that way of putting it. Also, nice that Hernandez had his barber make a house call either yesterday or the day before. So, he should look very pretty for his mug shot:)

The cops had to put a t-shirt on him. I guess he wanted the world to see all his ink.

I wonder if his fiance and the sister of the fiance are involved at all. According to one rumor, the sister was supposedly beaten by the guy who got killed. Perhaps the fiance or sister told Hernandez something like 'take care of him' or 'teach him a lesson.'

I'm very curious to see if someone actually picks him up through waivers. Lions? Commanders?

Knew the day would come and that he would be arrested. Next up "Murder was the case that they gave me." NE Police will not let this turn into a side show like O.J. did in California.

Texas has the death penalty.

I would imagine that either Hernandez or his lawyer were really pain in the butts during questioning or something for them to go this route instead of instructing his Lawyer to have him come to the station. That or they thought he was a serious flight risk...but I imagine it is more of him or his lawyer being pain in the butts.
I'd saying complete smashing your cell phone and home surveillance system goes above and beyond being a pain in the butt. So that may have had something to do with it.

It is interesting about team philosophies. Some GM's see a distraction and immediately crush it before it becomes a team concern and others leave it there hoping it will go away, while one other as clueless as it is actually invites it in. TO, Pacman, Brent...etc..

The Patriots invited in Randy Moss, Donte Stallworth, Albert Haynesworth and Chad Johnson. They even invited Aaron Hernandez in the first place.

You're correct, and they're able to do this because they have a HC that doesn't put up with player's nonsense and he's also very respected among players. Just like you said, Randy Moss - traded, Albert Hanyesworth - cut, Donte Stallworth - cut, Chad Johnson - cut, Aaron Hernandez - cut, I'm sure you see the same trend that's repeated with these big personality guys correct? Once they start becoming an issue (headache > production), the patriots are not afraid to cut ties with them and the players know this. Heck, they even got rid of Randy Moss (easily HoF) without hesitating when he became a distraction.

Early rumors are...he is going to be charged with murder. The Pats wasted no time in cutting him.

It's a shame that a guy with a really bright future is involved in crap like this.

He has tons of money & is in a high profile job.

Can't fix stupid I guess.

Say what you want about the Pats. They don't mess around. Jerry would never do this

Why do you say that? I think they gained a lot of respect from people for cutting him loose immediately after he was arrested.

Really? It was the right decision, and they were right to wait for the arrest, but I don't see how they actually gain any respect. It's a dirty organization that's smart enough to do the right things publicly. At best I'd say this is a personal issue with one player on the roster that should not reflect on the team one way or another.

The first part is true. The Cowboys are a classier organization than the Partriots by a fair degree. I'm fairly certain we'd cooperate with the authorities to the fullest extent and drop a player immediately upon his arraignment for murder.

This isn't a couple of kids drunk driving without their seatbelts on.
