So the joke image of Hernandez calling Ray Ray turns out to be a little more than humor if he is indeed only charged with Obstruction.

if you can plead the 5th, you should be able to smash up videos and cut up pictures that you own. Seems like an extension of the same to me.

Source: Aaron Hernandez barred by Patriots

Patriots tight end Aaron Hernandez, whose sprawling North Attleboro home is part of a homicide probe, was booted from Gillette Stadium yesterday when he showed up for a workout as cops continued to hunt for clues in the death of a Dorchester man, according to a source close to the team.

Hernandez, 23, was allowed in the building, but staff was waiting for him and instructed him to leave, the source told the Herald.

In Dorchester yesterday, Lloyd’s family languished in grief and frustration, mourning their loss and saying cops have kept them in the dark about the case. His sister pleaded for witnesses to cooperate.

“I need whoever it is who knows what happened to say something,” Olivia Thibou said. “Because he knows who it is. He knows who he was with and that person needs to speak up.”

Family members declined again to comment on how Lloyd and Hernandez knew each
other.

“We can’t wish him back,” Thibou said. “And as much as we want to, we can’t. We’d rather
just have justice. I’d rather whoever did it goes down.”

The family also bristled at media reports speculating drugs were somehow part of the case.

Pete Prisco ‏@PriscoCBS 36m My advice to Aaron Hernandez: Chirp like a bird. Save your

Have heard from two Patriots teammates who said, in their opinion, Hernandez got more brazen after contract extension.

Was tough to corral most of rookie season, showed signs of maturity and then regressed after getting the extension

Any scenario whereby image-conscious NFL/Kraft family allow Hernandez to come to training camp?

Within days of draft, Hernandez threatened Welker
Posted by Darin Gantt on June 21, 2013, 10:07 AM EDT

And according to the Boston Globe, he flashed a temper and made threats to one of the Patriots’ respected veterans within days of arriving for work.

In an anecdote near the bottom of a longer report, it was mentioned that Hernandez was at the team facility trying to watch film, when he grew frustrated at not being able to operate the equipment. Wide receiver Wes Welker walked by, Hernandez asked for help, and Welker replied: “Rookie, you figure it out.”

According to the report, Hernandez “responded with expletives.”

According to Shalise Manza Young, Hernandez’s reply was “f— you Wes, I’ll f— you up!“
While rookies getting their backs up with veterans is not an uncommon act, the threat within a few days of being drafted was unusual, and as was noted, it was not said in a joking manner.

Obstruction of Justice beats the hell out of a Murder charge I guess. Does anyone know a possible sentence if he is found guilty?

Just cause they haven't charged him with murder now doesn't mean it isn't coming later

It's not. The government can compel you to provide DNA, handwriting samples and all sorts of things. The 5th only applies to testimony.

Ha, I love when people try to play lawyer on the Internet. The 5th amendment allies only to testimony and is severely limited in scope. Hell, the Supreme Court just ruled that silence prior to a Miranda reading can be used against a defendant.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 30s Spoke to the clerk at Attleboro District Court. She told me no arrest warrant was filed for Aaron Hernandez. One may come. But it hasn't yet
A report said an arrest warrant was filed for Hernandez. As of now there is none. Clerk said it would only be thru Attleboro District Court

good explanation.

still seems like a weak charge to arrest someone for destroying their own property.

I hate it when lawyers pretend to me human beings with hearts and stuff, so your post is more appreciated then you knew. ;)

You're not serious.

Right?

The property was destroyed around the same time someone he was previously seen with turned up dead.

I get what you're getting at.

It's just that you're way off base in this instance.

Ian Rapoport ‏@RapSheet 14m Aaron Hernandez was asked to leave Gillette yesterday because, among other reasons, team officials were wary of the media circus arriving

There were events at Gillette -- including 1 involving Gov. Patrick -- and they felt Hernandez shouldn't be present (as @RonBorges reported)

Hernandez did not work out. He was inside for 35 minutes. Don't expect him back until at least July 25 when players return for training camp

In situations such as Hernandez's yesterday, owner Robert Kraft would be consulted. I believe that happened when Hernandez was at Gillette

No idea. We know nothing. Ray Lewis was SB MVP post-obstruction charge RT @FrankTomaino: @RapSheet u believe he'll be able to attend camp?

Belichick is out of the country, from what I understand RT @mleagle88: @RapSheet Think BB was there too?

so you let one incident affect you for life? I have had run ins with Cops- on a couple occasions not good ones; but the vast majority are decent people doing a very hard job. You need to think on this
I've had a couple run ins myself and let me tell you that I probably got away with some stuff I shouldn't have because I was 100% polite, cooperative and respectful. So all these "never talk to cops" people are out in left field.

When that "property" could potentially provide key evidence n a murder investigation, and it was smashed deliberately, then yeah I have to say I'd call that obstruction of justice.

Is it too late to have Kraft send Hernandez to get his ring back from Putin? :laugh2:

I have done the same and gotten away with things as well. At the same time I have been with others who have done as I did and dig a deeper hole.

I will just say that appearances matter.
