Hated when we had to face him as QB of the Packers. Respect his knowledge of the game.
LOL.... If he said Dak was a tier 4 QB you would be dog cussing his sorry butt.

Anyway, Aaron is clearly impressed with Dak's ability to beat up crappy teams. Good for him...

When it comes to MVP ask yourself honestly how much difference does Prescott make to the Cowboys' team?

Based on the previous two seasons where Cooper Rush has a 5-1 record as the starting Cowboys QB, there's an argument the Cowboys would have won all the games with him as QB this season (dominant defense resulting in pick 6s and offensive drive after offensive drive) except the Chargers game where Prescott was excellent and he played key part in the win by making some good plays when needed. On the same token the Cowboys may have beaten Arizona with Rush as a more regulation and competent type performance at QB may have got it done. The Eagles beat the Cowboys regardless so on balance Prescott has been worth one win over Rush in my view.

When I look at the Eagles' results then there's an argument Hurts was central to up to 8 of the team wins! Granted, he was a key culprit for the loss against a strong Jets D at home (Mahomes and Allen both struggled against the Jets D on the road as well). The four games the Eagles' opposition scored 28 points or more, Hurts and the Eagles offense scored more points and won all of those games with clutch plays when required. Conversely, the Cowboys' opposition scored 28 points or more in three games and sadly Prescott and the Cowboys' offense were unable to suppass that and lost both games.

Hurts made key contributions when the Eagles beat several very good teams in the Chiefs, Cowboys, Dolphins and Bills. He will have more chances to showcase his importance over the next two weeks when the Eagles play the 49ers and Cowboys.

It depends how people judge the league MVP but if the metric is the Most Valuable Player to a team, then if people are being objective, it's a no contest between Hurts and Prescott.
One of the most ignorant posts of the year. He actually thinks Cooper Rush is as good as Dak Prescott.

He didn’t say anything about the competition but that Dak is playing the position like it should be played. He was impressed. Your blinded by your hate is all. It’s really sad. Currently a top 2 QB of your favorite team and you continue to crap on him.

You're just jealous Aaron Rodgers never said the same thing about Romo.

Does he have great stats in many losses? And one of the things I have criticized him on are final drive failures. He doesn't need the playoffs to do that. But again, when did Dallas lose a playoff game we were expected to win with Dak at QB? I guess you could say in 2016 when he was a rookie. But I didn't think he choked that game away. It's not easy winning a road playoff game for any team when you're underdog.
I see, so since you expect him to perform so poorly and so much worse than he does the rest of the year it isn't "choking". My definition doesn't have such a high bar... Or low bar, as it were. What I saw in those games was the pressure get to him and the decision making tank.

I’m constantly shocked at how so many fans don’t understand that there are around 45 players that play snaps during a game and not just 1. It’s like they’re in the Twilight Zone somewhere.
...okay?

I remember in 2014 when Romo said that the game started to slow down for him.

He was starting to see more of the field before the snap and having an easier time reading the defenses. He'd seen enough things that tendencies and patterns emerged.

No coincidence that Romo's numbers were AMAZING, BUT the Cowboys went 12-3 in the 15 games he started.(Ironically, lost to GB & Rodgers in the DIV round)

But I think that's where Dak is this season... the game has started to slow town for him.

Dak is seeing more of the field and having an easier time reading defenses.

The fact that this happened on top of Dak playing at mvp level, 2nd qbr etc is hilarious given the 95% of posts from like 5% of the posters clogging the board.

Fret not, next bad pick or game that shall rise again…

I'm guessing we have a great front office of we had a loaded super bowl roster. Whats these loaded positions we had?
The front office has done a great job particularly in assembling loaded rosters in 2021, 2022 and 2023.

Loaded positions?
Offensive Line: On the whole very good despite all the criticism from some Cowboy fans who clearly don't watch other quarterbacks play behind wallpaper. Specifics would be Two All-Pro lineman likely heading into the Hall of Fame, Pro Bowl centre and a rising star in Tyler Smith.

WR - All Pro in Lamb in addition to Pro Bowl receivers in the likes of Cooper, Cooks (underused) and Gallup (pre injury).

RB - Pro Bowlers in Pollard and Zeke.

Corners - All Pro in Diggs and Gilmour. Bland will be All Pro this season.

Safety - Very good players that don't get the credit they deserve but especially over the past two seasons this has been a strong group.

LVE - some people criticise but he was very good last season.

Lawrence has been consistently solid despite the criticism.

Arnstrong and Fowler chip in with solid sacks whilst we have a top 3 defender in the entire NFL over the past three seasons in Parsons.

Most teams will have a few warts in this salary cap era and sure we would like more at DT right now but make no mistake this Cowboys roster has been of a Superbowl caliber in 2021, 2022 and this season 2023.

Missing out on home field in the play offs will be massive but the roster is good enough to overcome it if the QB doesn't shoot his bolt like the previous two seasons.

The fact this team went 5-1 over the past two years with a practice squad QB starting speaks volumes.

Correction: Romo's number were NOT amazing.

Romo: 69.9%comp, 246yd/g avg, 8.5/pass, 34TDs 9INTs
Dak (so far): 70%comp, 266yd/g avg, 7.9/pass, 23TDs 6INTs

Romo also had a strong run game (Murray) to lean on, Dak's sort of having to carry the offense

But the numbers are close enough to say that I think Dak has unlocked a new level in himself as a QB.

I wish DAL could get that run game figured out

Orlovsky is suddenly in a torture chamber.
Good.

Orlovsky is a smart guy, but no one will ever remember any of his NFL accomplishments.

The football-clueless Stephen A. Smith stole his entire schtick from the late Sherman Hemsley's "George Jefferson" character. Why would anyone pay this comic figure any mind?

Not a fan of Aaron Rodgers, but I give his experienced opinion on the matter - which strikes me as totally sincere - more credence than that of the aforementioned hacks.

I hope so..it looked like that in the first 5 games last year then it stopped.
When Dak gets rid of it quickly, he's very good.

He has to do it against better secondaries, get rid of the ball under 3 secs (WR or out of bounds), or step up and run.

Finally got a chance to watch the interview.

Pretty cool of AR to go out of his way to prop up Dak like that. Wasn’t even the question that was posed to him. If I’m Dak, I feel 110% about myself right now getting those type kudos from a HOF peer.

AR must be going stir crazy like Trevon. Sounds like he’s watching every game every week. LOL

I’m worried about all the comments I keep hearing from Brady, Rodgers, Aikman, et al regarding a diminished product in the field. I’ve felt the same way. League getting to a point where it’s not parity, it’s just bad football.

Maybe Mike actually knows what he’s doing? He’s coached a lot of great QB’s. Makes me sick we waited 3 years to allow him to be the play caller……..

Here you go again.... bringing Romo into a thread that has nothing to do with him. He's been retired almost 7 years, why is he still in your head so much that you have to constantly bring him up in your never ending defense of Dak?

Did he steal your wife or your dog for you to hate him so much?

Yeah. This isn't uncommon. I saw Tom Brady throw a game ending pick in 2006 to end the game in the final minutes. It happens. It happens to all QBs.
