If Brady Quinn would have been throwing those passes they would have gently landed in Roys hands everytime.

And he would have been shirtless.

At least thats how it is in McCordsvilles dream.
His dream is everyone else's nightmare.

"He gets the ball thrown correctly his way," Williams said of Austin. "I'm stretching and falling and doing everything. Everybody [else] who's been here's balls are there. Our footballs [from Romo to Williams] are everywhere right now."

Im not sure he is. If you look at the statement in whole it sounds more like he is saying that Romo and the receivers that he has chemistry are in sync and that he and Romo are not.

You would think he would know better then to say something like this, but I dont think he is trying to put the blame on Romo.

That's possible. Listening to it and reading it again it doesn't seem quite as bad as it did the first time I read it but it still sounded like he was trying to put a lot of it on Romo as to why they're not having the success they should.

To me the guy just shouldn't say anything at all about that stuff. You have to be very careful what you say, and how you say it, cause it can turn into these type of things.

Does Mac use a tape recorder? Most beat guys do. If so, he can clear this up rather quickly.

That's what I was wondering.

If he doesn't, he should.

That's a pretty long quote to make up out of thin air, esp if witnesses were around to call you on your bull**** after the fact. I don't see Mac stooping to that level and imperiling his job in a ****ty economy. It just flunks every common sense test known to man.
Mac had two quotes from an exchange that happened on Wednesday and were not on video.

Archer was apparently present for one of those quotes. I guess there was a 3rd exchange on the grassy knoll.

Or you're just being ******** about this.

I make no claim of being modest or immodest. But it's nice to get a chuckle at both your narcissism and hypocrisy all in one post.

Talk about inappropriate.

Anyway, if nobody videotapes something, does that mean it didn't happen?

So if a tree falls in the woods and nobody hears it ... :muttley:

Actually I did say it. I don't believe that quote at all. There is no evidence at all that it was ever said. The video is nearly 8 minutes long and there's no acrimony at all from Roy. I absolutely do not believe it because there is no evidence.

Hate to tell you but DC.com does not put everything up on their site.

I already pointed out a few weeks ago where they edited out a question to Miles Austin and only played his response.

And why did the question have to be asked within that 8 minutes?

The reporters aren't only in the locker room for 8 minutes, lol.

MacMahon didn't make this up.

And anyone who says this is being nothing less silly and acting like their kid can do no wrong.

Yes, the only thing more ******** is rushing to declare a man a "liar" based solely on his employer. Thank God we haven't seen any of that, yet.

And most weekday locker room interview sessions are come and go ... not that formal. The TV guys get their sound bite and go. Print guys linger. Players still talk.

Because this isn't on video doesn't necessarily make it untrue. Like I said earlier, reporters who fabricate quotes get fired. I doubt he would put his career in jeopardy.

I'm saying that's a common theme in this thread. Or maybe you missed all the BSPN jibes. "Innocent until proven guilty?" What quaint nonsense. Off with his head!

True. The city of Philadelphia has a real good chance to ruin my week, so my nerves are understandably frayed.

Personally I have a hard time believing a reporter made up a quote out of thin air.

That said both those guys went out of their way to say this wasn't a TO type rant, and Roy went out of his way to say how happy he was the team was winning.

Roy's been hounded since the day TO was cut, and I think the pressure and frustration is getting to him a little and he's deflecting. I think he said the quote and he meant it, but it probably sounds a little harsher than it is when taken out of context of the rest of the interview.

Still could have been handled better, but I don't think this is TO Round II or anything.

Hate to tell you, but the author was on GAC and virtually shot his own article down by saying Williams was not upset or negative.

So which is it?

Here's the take from a 3rd reporter who claimed to be there.

Williams says he's still No. 1 at WR
November 4, 2009 4:26 PM
Posted by ESPN.com's Matt Mosley

IRVING, Texas -- As I've always said, there's no one in the league who can do more with 19 yards receiving than Roy Williams. The Cowboys' "No. 1" wide receiver is in an awkward spot right now because the Cowboys are winning games while receiving little to no production from him.

Miles Austin has emerged as the Cowboys' most dangerous offensive weapon -- and he's understandably quarterback Tony Romo's favorite target right now. On Wednesday at Valley Ranch, Williams fielded question after question regarding why he and Romo don't appear to be on the same page.
"It's just not even close," Williams said of his on-field rapport with the quarterback. "It's not even funny. Not even close."

When I jokingly suggested a scenario in which his former Lions quarterback Jon Kitna was allowed to take the field on pass plays called for Williams, the wide receiver bit his lip and smiled. But the suggestion that perhaps Austin had become the team's No. 1 wide receiver drew a quick response from Williams.
"I'm the No. 1 receiver," Williams said. "But things are just going No. 2's way."

In 16 games with the Cowboys, Williams has 33 catches for 447 yards and three touchdowns -- or roughly a decent couple of games for Austin. To Williams' credit, he's never run from the questions. He knows better than anyone that last season's trade looks like a bust at this point and I think he'll do everything in his power to change that perception. But right now, he doesn't think he's getting the same types of opportunities as Austin.
"He gets the ball thrown correctly his way," Williams said of Austin. "I'm stretching and falling and doing everything. Everybody [else] who's been here's balls are there. Our footballs [from Romo to Williams] are everywhere right now."

But before we draw comparisons to a former complainer/wide receiver at Valley Ranch, I honestly think Williams is happy to be part of a winning team. He just feels like he could be doing more to help -- and it's easy to see why that's frustrating. Personally, I think that Romo's improvement in protecting the football may actually be hurting Williams' cause. Unlike a smaller, quicker receiver, Williams isn't going to get a lot of separation from cornerbacks. At times, you need to throw it to a spot and let him make a play on the ball.

Romo's not taking as many chances right now. In the big picture, that's helping the Cowboys. But it doesn't appear to be helping Roy Williams at all. If anyone disagrees with this amazing theory, please let me hear from you in the comments section. Your undying support in that section hasn't gone unnoticed.
