Buffalo started the game with an almost 7 minute drive for a TD. Then on their first possession in the 2nd half an 8+ minute FG. 2 drives alone killed over 15 minutes.
Even if you have an explosive offense and respond quickly and score. Your defense is going to be exhausted.
Can not give the other team an extra 10 minutes and expect to win the game. We were on Defense for 35+ minutes.
and yet that should have only been 3 pts but we gave them 11 there. While I don't argue that we have to be a good bit better against the run, Quinn has set this defense up to play against 80% of NFL schemes that don't have an effective run game. Even when you do have an effective run game you are very fortunate to score a good amount of points.
We gifted Buffalo 18 points in that game. 4 by the penalty on 3rd near the goal line and then 7 with the roughing the punter. We then gifted them 7 by not challenging the fumble.
Explosive or even good passing game offense covers that. Buffalo scores maybe a few more than 10 had we not gifted them! Would have kept the D off the field probably 8-9 minutes as well
