Admit It...

I was wrong about A. Henry being signed as a FA. I think his time here was good even though he was injuried alot, but I wanted Dallas to sign Fred Smoot from the skins, I was mad we had signed a guy I had not been familar with...I'm so glad I was wrong:)

Remember Antonio Anderson? I remember thinking he was the next Leon Lett.

My biggest miss ever would be David Carr though...I really thought he was going to be a good pro.

I'm right there with you on David Carr. Actually, he may have been good if he had been allowed to sit and learn awhile and if he hadn't been beaten to death every game due to lack of protection.

I remember the hype in 1995 training camp that anointed Eric Bjornson the heir apparent at tight end and claimed he was better than Novacek, I wanted to believe that, a season later we really missed Novacek.

When I was 10 I thought Alvin Harper was better than Michael Irvin,I thought he was gonna turn Tampa bay into dynamite.

I thought JJ Stokes was going to be an awesome pro, mainly because the press was a Niner mouth piece at the time and wouldn't stop singing his praises and how shrewd San Fran was to acquire him on draft day.
HA!

Great call, Chief... So did I. Loved both those guys.

Also...

I thought 500 head coaches could win with the 90s team.

I thought I'd never see the head coach of the Cowboys in a wet suit.

I thought I was kidding when I said that Parcells would draft an Italian Jersey tight end from Notre Dame in the second round.

But worst of all...

I thought Bobby Carpenter could play.:abuseme:

Jerry, it's ok to own up to a mistake or two. :)

My mistake Drew Henson. :eek::

1) I thought Quincy was on the verge of really becoming a force in this league. And I still think he was underrated as a QB in his stint here, off the field problems not withstanding. He had a better pro career than several #1 picks I can think of. Who cares now, but still...

2) I thought Ebenezer Ekuban was a good pick. Ha!

3) I think Jerry Jones is FAR from being a bad General Manager. He's not perfect, but he's definitely come a long way.

I thought Marquis Walker would be a stud receiver.

I originally thought Carter would be very good, and kept turning to the "he had a better rookie season than McNabb" line in debates.

I told many people Pacman & TO were humbled, would realize this is likely their either best or last chance, and neither would generate the negative headlines that had plagued them.

I thought Marcus Spears would be a beast. Richard Seymour style.

I placed a large wager that we would be in the Super Bowl this past season.

I thought we solidified our linebacking corps with those two LB's we signed from the Titans in the early 2000's.

I laughed at the notion that Romo would replace Bledsoe during the 2006 season, as Mortenson kept saying.

I thought Kevin Hardy and Bryant Westbrook would be leaders on our defense.

I couldn't believe Marcus Steele failed. I also was a fan of Jon Nix. And Pat Dennis.

I thought Ken Yon Rambo was a sleeper.

Oh man I had forgotten

When TO did the whole "that's my quarterback" melt down, I said he had won me over and would be a cowboy for life.

That he finally had a home, I guess I should consider myself sucked on that one.

I thought Julius Jones was the next LT after his rookie year.

I was also a QC fam but by no means thought he was bound for greatness. I just thought he was better than Hutch.

I was also wrong about.... Romo..... I thought if he came in for Bledsoe are season was over but I didn't realise our season had just begun once he stepped in.

I thought Chad Hutchinson, Troy Hambrick, and Antonio Bryant were our new triplets after the 2002 season (Campo's last year.)

I thought Hensen was going to be the next Aikman. I can remember clearly complaining that the coaching staff just wasn't giving Hensen the chance to prove himself. I also remember being hopping mad when some scrub named Romo was moved to #2 on the depth chart instead of Hensen.

As a Yankee fan, I got the opportunity to let him dash my hopes twice.

Put me on the Carpenter "D'oh!" bandwagon as well.

Pat Watkins. I actually thought he was going to be legit when he came out of Florida St.

i can concur on that esp after his int filled training camp where he was dubbed Spiderman/spiderpat

Carpenter.

Looks like a viking warrior but plays like a San Francisco hairdresser.

I used to post on a very old school board, and I spent countless hours hyping up these three. Bryant had very visible talent, but we must've been high to think that Hutch and Hambrick would be superstars in this league. When I look back at those games we were just hopelessly hopeful.

Bryant is enjoying a slight comeback, Hambrick was the Cowboy Timmy Smith and Hutch, well we were just desperate to like a quarterback.
