I say keys to the organization as in the offensive line and the running back position have become the focal point of this team. They ARE this team at this point. Not saying that no one else matters but it doesn't work without the two. So to get rid of the best back in the game yardage wise right now for a guy who's going to be 31 and out of football a year? Makes no sense. And what makes no sense is giving him a 3 year deal at 31.

There's no logical explanation for why one would get rid of Demarco for Peterson. There's none. Not from a PR standpoint, not from a youth standpoint, not from a on the field standpoint.....there's nothing.

$$$$$$$

There's the 'logical explanation'.

Peterson will likely not play another down in the NFL again.

He is going to be arrested again for "smoking a little weed". Just reported on ESPN radio.

Your saying he got that deal when he was traded over from the bills? ?

"3/4/2012: Signed a four-year, $31 million contract. The deal contains $17 million guaranteed, including a $6 milling signing bonus and all of Lynch's first- and second-year base salaries. Another $1 million is available through incentives in the final two years based on 1,500-yard rushing seasons. 2014: $6 million (+ $500,000 in per-game roster bonuses), 2015: $5 million (+ $2 million in per-game roster bonuses), 2016: Free Agent"

With everything going on around him. He will probably end up facing serious jail time for child abuse. I'm talking more than 5 years or more. Which means his NFL career is essentially over. Even if he comes back after that he'll be in his mid 30s.

the money standpoint!

obviously if he's not willing to take a paycut then your point is valid. i believe wholeheartedly he's coming here to win for the first time in his career and he's willing to make sacrifices. he's not getting another outrageous deal from us or anyone.

i said it in the other thread, you don't call jerry jones in the offseason, beg to play here, then come play hardball at the negotiating table. jerry is going to sit him down and tell him, 'listen son, we've got a good thing going around here right now. you can either join us at a hometown discount and run behind this oline being the missing piece to a super bowl or you can go to oakland, take the extra 5-10 million and continue to do what you've done you're entire career, lose. what do you want?'

trust me AP isn't taking the Oakland deal....AP is going to be a Cowboy next year.

Wow.

I'd bet money that nothing close to that happens.

I don't see how with the character stuff going around that a jury will find him innocent of child abuse. Maybe I'm wrong, but I doubt it.

I gotta disagree. His attorney is one the best. I would a expect a plea deal for probation before he allowed his client to serve any time. We are still talking about a fine line between abuse and discipline. People have strong feelings about being told how to raise their children and it only takes one or two on a jury for an acquittal, if it even gets that far.

His attorney doesn't matter if the case is building against him. He used charity funds to have a sex party involving a minor. And now he's apparently going to be re-arrested for pot use. I bet more comes out between now and his trial with all the people digging through his trash. And if he's found innocent. He's going to be facing a long suspension. Probably at least a full season next year. I see no way he plays next year at this point. And if he is found guilty his career will essentially be over.

As we found out in the Brent case, violating for weed sometimes helps. I don't know all the specifics, but it allows the defendant to enter a pre-trial diversion case for drug abuse as opposed to jail.

He is thirty and will not play for minimum wage.
The drop off between Peterson to Murray is assuaged by youth, and familiarity married with NO BAGGAGE.
The draft a replacement for next to nothing set will rue the day Murray left.
The get Peterson and he will be lights out crew will rue the day the moment he goes down for a significant time of has to do a suspension.
