I didn't say "every other RB in the league", I said every other great RBs. This isn't the norm for nearly ALL running backs.

And I've already provided examples. Lesean McCoy who has had the benefit of running behind a great run blocking line the past few years only had 9 20+ yard runs. Want to look this up? Go ahead, look up every good RB who runs behind great offensive lines, 20+ yard runs are rare. 15 20+ yard runs is great production.

Myths and more myths. Nothing like setting unreasonable expectations for RBs because a few RBs in the past had over 20 20+ yard runs.

Go ahead and go through the years and look at the big plays. Count how many RBs had over 20 20+ yard runs. Even LT in his biggest year only had 12.

This isn't Madden.

By using 20 as your starting number you are allowing a lot of shorter runs. Those aren't HR runs and can be attributed to the OL and not the RB.

40+ yard runs are low as well. Again, I posted the link, look through it. I'm not going to post 20 years of stats for you people, you have to do some of the work.

And even what you said makes very little sense. 20+ yard runs are extremely low, which means HR runs are low as well. They go hand in hand.

Guess how many players have had more than 20 20+ runs in a season since 1996? TWO. That's with countless great RBs who ran behind really good to great offensive lines. And because of those two, it's now the expectation?

Looks like the rumor going around is that the Bucs offered their 2nd round pick for Peterson, which is like #35 overall I think. Only way we can top that is by offering our first round pick, #27 overall.

I think that is probably too step for our blood......................I think we go RB fairly high in the draft now, maybe Tavon Coleman in the 2nd round since there are questions about Ajayi's knee. Gurley and Gordon I think will both be gone by pick 27.

Personally, I think that's a stupid idea. They had the league's leading rusher, the league's #2 run game overall, and achieved a 12-4 record, using the bellcow method.

It ain't broke, don't fix it.

I think they thought Murray tired at the end of the year. I think most would agree. I think they will have a feature back but will spell him more often to keep him fresh.

Yep. And this is another reason I said I'm not against drafting two RBs in this draft. If we have a chance for Gordon or Gurley in the first, I have no problem with grabbing another good prospect in the 4th if one slips (Allen or Abadullah). Grab your starter and bring in a young quality backup to take the load off of him. With the emphasis we have on the run game, two RBs will be valuable. Think Charles and Davis/Foster and Tate.

Guys, we gotta save the season..... no bsing around ..

We need Crazy Jerry back. We need Crazy Jerry to step in and step up with brass balls only JJ has.......... We need him!!!

Anybody have influence over local radio? Call and request this song to be played over and over so Jerry hears it a few times in the next 2-3 days, get him couple drinks too....

That I can live with. A primary running back that gets a breather from time to time, and more often than Murray did? No problem with that at all.

But any talk about committee makes me cringe.

so the Bucs are going to pay AD 13 million a year? this i have to see to believe.they might fire Lovie next year after this.

who is the primary again?

I think we are making the mistake of setting our goals too high in terms of carries or yards with our main back. We look at last year and try to set 1800 as the goal. That's the wrong way to go about it.

Just give me one back that can get 18-25 carries and average 4 or 4.5 per carry and a second back that can get 8-12 carries and average the same and that's all we need. We don't need a single back to get 1800 yards. That is unrealistic to expect.

Well, they can always try to trade down a little (maybe to #33 overall) and pick up an extra 2nd round pick. Than use the #33 to get Peterson. ;-)

Which ever back takes the job in the preseason. I think they will give the rookie every opportunity but if someone else beats him, I believe Garrett wouldn't hesitate to hand the job to McFadden or Williams.

I'm excited!
