You know Stephen would give a 3rd or 4th rounder for AP. You know he would....

I would love to be a fly on the wall.....

TB says I will give a 2.
Minny says we will take a 2 and sends the offer to dogra,
Dogra goes back to Dallas and says Minny doesnt want your 4th they want TBs 2nd....
Dallas says, the hell with that. If AP wants to be here, you better make sure he gets cut first!!!

Who knows? Its making the draft more interseting this year though.

However it gets done. AP in Dallas , with our offense, would be something to watch.....

I have worked my way up from a 3rd to a First to get him......I would get my "crazy Jerry secret sauce juice" and make that deal. Thats it though. No extra player or anything. Just a one, or 2 and 5th. And I would pay AP top 3 RB money....

But I really believe in AP. More so then the others I think. But its not just AP. Its the entire situation....

Yeah, Steve would give em a three.

What's it going to be then, eh?

In Tampa? I wouldn't bet on it.

At this stage, Peterson is about "respect" and indirectly that means money.

He is not going to sit out another year because he does not like the franchise or whatever.

So if your idea is true, and he just refuses to report, then what?

Wait, is this where the Vikings just get frustrated and release him so all the dreams can come true?

So after sorting through this thread, it looks like it would be in the best interest of the Cowboys to go get Peterson with a 3rd round pick and about 8 million dollars a year for two years is that correct ?

It was all explained on page 47......sheeesh

I just think he has a couple of teams in mind (Dallas and Arizona) and any deal short of that put's AP in "nope" mode. I DO think this thing gets super ugly if AP doesn't get traded to where he wants or isn't outright released. Minny doesn't want the PR headache of a non reporting throughout TC or the beginning of the season nor do they WANT to pay a player 13 million that has no desire to be there. One way or the other AP is going to find his way out of Minnesota and he's not ending up in Tampa under any scenario, IMHO.

I dont believe for a second he ends up in TB...

I can see him taking an offer from the Cardinals.....But I haven't heard much from them,
I can see him taking an offer from Dallas....but it looks like Dallas wants him to be cut first. I think Dallas will pay him, they just aren't going to trade draft picks for him.......Thats my gut feeling. If they end up doing that, Stephen is going to have to say, "Well, I changed my mind in the last few days, and now are model is to give draft picks up for veterans. ooops. Didn't you dumpsters know I was negotiating.....come on! "

The rational thing for Minny to do, if no one ponies up draft picks and AP shoots down every offer is to simply let him go.......that would be the rational thing to do.

But I am tellin you right now, if I am minny. I dont let him play. If he turns down a decent offer that allows me to get some draft picks and for him to get his hall pass.....I don't do the rational thing.

But maybe the cards are playing the same game as the Cowboys. Just waiting it all out......then no one has to give any draft picks. and Minny will be stuck with a malcontent? What are they going to do? The rational thing for them to do is cut him.......that would be the rational thing for them to do.....

If I am Minny, AP doesn't play next year.

Why not the Cowboys' 1st rounder for AD + Minnesota's 2nd rounder? Pretty smart for both teams really.

Intially, I was thinking the Cowboys were going to ante up "something" to minny. Maybe meet them in the middle somewhere and give AP a respectable contract.

Maybe not the best deal Minny couldve got,
Maybe not the most Money AP could get,
But close enough, that everybody gets what they want/need.....

But with all the announcements these last few days. None of them are even close or even being realistic...and draft day is approaching.

Lots of pressure on AP and Minny. Dallas not so much. But they dont even wanna play...which seems odd to me.

I just watched Talking Cowboys on podcast and Broaddus said he would give up the #27 pick for Peterson. Mickey looked at him like, "you are out of your dam mind"

I have to agree with Mickey, I don't see Dallas giving up that much, especially after Stephen basically said we are not trading picks for veterans.

Not only that. But Broaddus di'dn't want to pay Murray. But he is willing to give up a 1st, and yet pay Peterson that same salary or maybe more for a 30 year old running back. No thanxs.

Yea, I feel you bro.

I have been one of the biggest cheerleaders to bring AP to Dallas, but that was when we were speculating like a 2nd this year and maybe a conditional pick next year. But if we are talking a first round pick, I tell Minny to keep him. I am not giving up a first round pick for a 30+ yr old running back, my limit was our second rounder.

If Minny wants a first, Im out.
