Yaaaay! Not that it will stop the talk here or anything.
Really? This wasn't your quote?
Yaaaay! Not that it will stop the talk here or anything.
Some of you guys can't see the forest for the trees
AP is an all time great player and first ballot HOF
He has made more than enough money
He wants and needs to win s championship before he retires and he knows that he had 3-5 years left
There is no way he goes anywhere for the money
His only choices are Dallas or Arizona
He is from Texas and we play in a far easier division with a vastly superior QB and great OL
AP will be in Dallas to start the season.
AP will force Minns hand, we should not give then anything above a 5th if that
This is called 'how to get as many clicks on my story as possible'.
Never said I wanted the subject to go away. I actually have fun reading and debating the topic. If I didn't, I wouldn't be here.
Really? This wasn't your quote?
That MMQB quote is an opinion piece. Hell, everything written so far is an opinion. The only thing we have that is concrete is what Stephen Jones said. That is it. Everything else is conjecture and opinion based on our interpretation of blogs, opinion pieces and actions by Minnesota, AP, AP's agent etc..So by debate you do realize for a debate you examine by Presenting and Considering arguments on Both sides. We already awknowledged what Stephen said as a real possibility. We moved on by Presenting more information on the Pro side. I have provided both Pro and Con throughout this and other threads of this possibility. All your doing is regurgitating the same information over and over and over again. You're not bringing anything to the table but your opinion. That is not a debate. Once you awknowledge something in a debate you move to the next piece of information you are presenting. It's time to move away from what Stephen said we accepted it, owned up to it, and provided feedback that may very well happen. With new ammo (MMQB); other than my own opinion; on the table it's time for you and the circle to provide something new.not an opinion about the source or your opinion on the article....something actual/fact..so we can debate.
There are plenty of rumored suitors, including the Cardinals and Raiders, but the actions of the Cowboys lately seem almost too obvious to connect the dots. The team 1) created $12.8 million of cap room with the latest Tony Romo contract restructure, and Peterson would cost $12.75 million; 2) watched DeMarco Murray sign with their biggest rival while barely lifting a finger; and 3) discussed the potential of Peterson as a Cowboy on their website (there was a competing viewpoint, but approval had to come from above to allow this video). Adding the report of Peterson talking to Jerry Jones on the phone last year about his interest in playing for the team, the link seems apparent.
If the Cowboys do acquire Peterson, they will have two of the three players involved in high profile domestic violence cases in 2014. As I wrote in this space on the acquisition of Greg Hardy, the Cowboys (just like some other teams) will tolerate questionable past behavior if the talent warrants.

Sorry you just lost the debate...yet again..your opinon is useless in a debate. Bring something new. Anything....bring something but a personal opinion about an article. Your wrong we have concrete evidence what AD's agent said. He wants out. He wants a fresh start. I already addressed what Stephen said. You see the pro side moves on...the con side can't...there are more articles that voice the Pro than the Con. Find something besides your opinion. Then we can debate.

But there was the "conversation" with Jerry Jones. Wow, still using that one?
I know AP wants out. Everyone knows AP wants out. That is not up for debate. We are talking about AP in regards to the Cowboys. Every single piece of "evidence" about AP to the Cowboys is opinion and conjecture. We know, for sure, 3 things. We know AP wants out of Minnesota because he has said so. We know, for sure, that he would love to play for the Cowboys because he said so. We know, for sure, that Stephen does not want to give up draft picks for a veteran RB, again because he said so.
Everything else is opinion and conjecture.
Where, exactly, in that quote do I say I want the topic to go away? That quote says "Yay!", as in I am glad that Stephen isn't going to give up draft picks. It then says that the talk here is not going to stop. With a laughing face. Where does that say I wanted the topic to stop? I am glad Stephen doesn't want to give up draft picks and I think its funny that the topic will continue. That's it.
You really need to work on your reading comprehension.
"It then says that the talk here is not going to stop. With a laughing face."
Maybe you need to work on your writing skills?
Yeah, 'the talk here is not going to stop', clearly stated as if you wished it would. What other stance is to be taken?
You and anyone else who doesn't want to talk about the topic or lend any credence to it have a really easy way to distance yourselves, simply don't click on the 'Adrian Peterson' thread.
I don't believe that is anywhere in that post....that is the other thing with you Cons...your so dang defensive..all us pro folks want is our team to get better...you all misquote and bring nothing but your opinions and defensive posturing to the table.
Uhm, that I think its funny that the talk is not going to stop. If I wanted to state that I wished it would, I would have simply said "damn, can we drop this now?"
An excerpt from the above-referenced article:
Peterson’s negativity toward a team that paid him millions last year for not playing—and a team that wants to pay him the $12.75 million he is due this year—is puzzling to many. But his lingering hard feelings built up over the long months that he was away from the team, and they haven’t subsided.
See, it's not 'puzzling' to me, because I don't think the Vikings want to pay him under his current contract.
Before this whole incident happened, there was plenty of speculation that the Vikings would have to revisit the current terms of Peterson's deal anyway, given that the numbers are completely out of whack, especially in light of the current salaries for premier running backs.
As a matter of fact, given the contract's structure and the guaranteed money having already been paid, this was obviously the plan. To bring both sides back to the negotiating table at this point, with the team feeling they had great leverage because of the guaranteed money being paid.
What they didn't count on is the player wanting no part of either renegotiating the deal, or even returning to the team.
And now they're left in a stalemate and essentially scrambling around trying to get something for a player that the situation dictates they would otherwise have to cut, receiving nothing in return.
Or they can change course, and force a disgruntled player to take money that they don't actually want to pay him, simply to retain him for another season rather than getting nothing for him. And then go into 2016 with an even older player due to make even more money.
I just see all of these factors coming to a head, with the end result that Peterson doesn't play for the Vikings again.
So you think it's funny that the talk - including yours - is not going to stop? What exactly is funny about that? Where is the humor?
Why exactly should the talk stop until Peterson's situation is resolved?
Again, anyone tired of it has a whole big wide world of other things to choose from.
If anyone is complaining about it, it's the result of their own ignorance in clicking on a thread clearly titled.
No way I would give up a 1st for ANY running back past 30 years of age. Just cannot happen. Although I think AP would put us in the drivers seat for #6, it would put us behind in terms of building a consistent winner.
I have always said a 4th or maybe a 3rd conditional. Too rich for my blood.
Its funny because the damn topic is so long and, despite Stephen saying it was not going to happen, its going to continue. I have been here for a few years and this is the longest football topic I have seen on the forums and it is only going to get bigger. I find that funny.
