A report surfaced Tuesday that if the Minnesota Vikings did not trade running back Adrian Peterson by the conclusion of next week's NFL Draft, they would end up holding on to their star.

A guest of Bickley and Marotta on Arizona Sports 98.7 FM Wednesday, Yahoo! Sports NFL columnist Charles Robinson said he is 100 percent confident that if the Arizona Cardinals called up the Vikings and offered their first-round pick for Peterson, Minnesota would listen.

But are the Cardinals -- or any team, for that matter -- willing to surrender their top draft choice and more for a 30-year-old running back?

That remains to be seen, but one team Robinson said is not in the running for the six-time Pro Bowler's services is the Dallas Cowboys.

"Whoever says otherwise is 1,000 percent wrong," he said. "The Cowboys have not spoken to the Minnesota Vikings about Adrian Peterson. It has not happened. They haven't offered a draft pick, they have not picked up the telephone to talk to the Minnesota Vikings about Adrian Peterson. It simply has not happened."

That. Is. Awesome. Once more the air comes outta the 'AP TO DALLAS' contingent. It isn't happening. It never was.

Would you trade Dez for JJ Watt and Houston's second rounder?

That would be very tempting. It would depend on when the trade was offered. During a season, no. Before the draft, maybe. If I thought I could fill some of the void left by Dez in the draft, yes I probably would.

You said that you were not sure about that in reply to my comment about how trading Dez for AP was insane.

I just reread that . My aplogies. I was speaking about the comment on AP. "People are so cut up with the name Adrian Peterson that it makes all semblance of common sense leave them"

But ignored the first part of the comment about Dez.. My fault,

Fuzzy has me upset, because he called me out as being a Macho Man. But , really, when did macho really go out of style? And when did offering a friendly bet (a donation to the zone) become to agressive?

Imagine entering the playoffs with a pass rush including Greg Hardy, JJ Watt, Demarcus Lawrence, and Tyrone Crawford.

Oh, yeah. It would never happen but that would be sweet. But we would have to find a replacement for Dez in the draft. If it happened now, we could grab Dorial Green-Beckham. That would put us in a nice place. That would be why I would do it this year. That and the fact that the Dez contract situation is worrisome.

Then I dang sure don't want you running my football team. LOL

I do that all day and Sunday.

I don't want you on my football team at all-even making sure the balls have the right pressure. You don't trade your best player, you find another way to get a asset you want.

Yeah, We aren't offering any draft picks....

And I was always of the opinion some team would offer Minny at least a 2. And Minny would take it, and AP would agree, not wanting to risk calling Minnys bluff and his need to play next year.
All of that, is why I was willing to go as high as a first.

But what if, no one offers Minny anything. Not even a 3rd? And, as the off season drags on, Minny decides this toxic environment isn't good for the organization and cuts him? If Minny was unwilling to accept any offer below a 1st or 2nd, then that puts AP in a bad position. They asked too much for AP, and didn't get an offer, and now AP has to sit out the year. Because I really think AP wants out. And besides, do you really want a player on the field, that isn't there 100%?

So, maybe they cut him if they don't get anything in the draft. Or maybe a team offers up some of next years picks or pick or maybe even a player? A spot Minny couldn't address in the draft?

Then Dallas doesn't have to give up any picks. And we sign him to what Staserhoo has been floating out there.... 3 years 25 million?

I could see that happening........and maybe, people know, thats exactly whats going to happen....:)

3 years, 25 million is too much for a 30 year old RB.

Yeah, were all passionate about the Cowboys. And I like the banter back and forth. I actually want to hear from the opposing viewpoint. It either makes me question my own position(a good thing) or makes me more sure/confident in my own outlook on any given subject.

And it always happens. Your BSing about who is prettier Mary Ann or Ginger , or who is the best ball player, or who is going to win Sundays big game, and you argue back and forth, and it always comes down to....I bet you "whatever" that they win or more people choose Mary Ann. We all know its Mary Ann.....

The more I think about it, the less I would give up to get AP. Either draft picks or contracts. We just have too many needs, now and in the future, to give up anything for a 30 year old RB on the downside of his career. And, the more information that comes out, the more I am convinced that the Cowboys never had any interest at bringing in AP at any price. Unless AP just falls into their laps, with no draft pick cost and very little money on a contract, the Cowboys are not interested at all. I become more convinced about that by the day and by the reports coming out, I am am correct.

More speculation the Cowboys are in deed out of the picture. Every time I go in and start reading the Hardy crap it just cements my stance on not wanting him here. Look at the mess one guy has caused. Anyway just got this update...
Yahoo's Charles Robinson says the Cardinals, Bucs and Jaguars are left in the Adrian Peterson race.

Robinson also wouldn't rule out the Falcons. Of course, this all assumes the Vikings are willing to trade Peterson -- so far they've shown no desire to do so whatsoever. It's unlikely they'd get anything near fair value for a 30-year-old running back due $12.75 million. One team notably missing from Robinson's list is the Cowboys, who he says aren't interested at all. "Whoever says otherwise is 1,000 percent wrong."

Not bending at all.

Lynch is 29. He is getting paid. By a team who just went to back to back Super Bowls. And if they would've given him the ball instead of trying to make a legend out of Russel Wilson, they would've won both Super Bowls....

Yep and the Seahawks only gave him a two year extension with a lot of outs after next season. They know that RBs decline quickly at that age.
