i agree with you except I don't thinking making a push for AP was ever in their plans at all. I am pretty sure their plans have been McFadden and a rookie all along.

I disagree. DMC has always been part of the backup plan. Regardless if they had a rookie or AD.

Too much smoke in the interest for AD. They are and have been seriously interested in AD, it's been a matter of what the cost is or what it might be that will have them choose option 2.

The FO has prepared for both options AD or rookie. All this will be answered within the next week.

All of that smoke was created by writers. Everything coming from the Cowboys has shown no interest. Stephen Jones comments about it were straightforward. Now, there is the report earlier today that the Cowboys have not made a single phone call to the Vikings about AP. They have no offered a single thing and have not even talked to them, according to that report.

There are several reports that say otherwise. Like I said all this will sort out within the next week. Option 1 or Option 2.

No. We had no other reasonable option. Trading draft picks and giving a big contract to a 30 year old RB is not a reasonable option.

Reasonable is a relative term. I am basing everything, off a 2 year window.

It is also my belief, that without a legit QB, we wont be making any super bowl run for a very very long time. Unless we build the next Ray Lewis like Defense; good luck with that.

You sound like chicken little. Dude the sky isn't falling. IMO the plan all along if Murray refused their offer has been this:

1) Make a strong push to acquire AD. That hasn't happened yet and I stress YET.

If that fails

2) Draft a rookie RB (Gurley, Gordon, or Coleman as they are the ones they seem the most interested in) and worst case scenario RB by committee until one of them shows they're ready for the bell cow role.

In the words or A A Ron. R E L A X

you may be right KAL. I am very concerned right now. I am puzzled by the backup plan to replace Murray......I have no trust in any rookie drafted. None of them. And I have no trust in any of the backs we have on roster.

Who we giving the rock to , in that game we have to have to win the NFCE and NY/Philly decides to take out the passing game first? Who am I trusting to win that game for me, when this team and franchise will be pushing for a Super Bowl? Who?

Maybe, were just "hoping" for a Super Bowl. Instead of going out and getting one. Within the next 2-3 years.

Because after that. We start the process of replacing our franchise QB. Should we evaluate the history of that process?

Basing everything off of a short window is what got the Cowboys in trouble in the past. You have to build for the long term, not the short.

Here's were we differ: I do trust whats going on here. I trust what Jason is building and the direction he and the front office are taking. Several chicken littles declared doom after we lost Ware and Hatcher last year and look what happen JG and Co. stuck to their plan and the defense got better and the team was very dominant.

Sit back and trust that the new JG era is in effect and this group will make the right decision for both the short term and long term. Relax, trust, and believe and I'm confident you will be one happy fan by the end of next week.

I agree. I do think the FO wants AP, they are just playing ultra hard ball. They aren't bluffing. Take this offer or dont. They arent getting into a bidding war with TB or anybody else. And they aren't budging for Minnys FO. And they arent offering much, if anything, in the form of draft picks....

I was worried about this. I dont want to screw around and lose AP. But if the FO can hold their ground(maybe they know something we dont, im sure they do) and end up with AP after the draft some time, I will be ecstatic!

Whoever says otherwise is 1,000 percent wrong," he said. "The Cowboys have not spoken to the Minnesota Vikings about Adrian Peterson. It has not happened. They haven't offered a draft pick, they have not picked up the telephone to talk to the Minnesota Vikings about Adrian Peterson. It simply has not happened."

Charles Robinson is a bigger boob than Peter King who you slammed yesterday as a "just an opinion".

Dude that's your opinion. You have ZERO proof that there hasn't been some discuss between the 2 teams. No one does. Both the Vikings and the Cowboys are being very tight lipped about this whole situation and bro that's a FACT.

Well, yeah. So tight lipped that Stephen Jones said they weren't giving up draft picks for a veteran RB. But yeah.

Again your one sided interpretation. He didn't say that he said, "I don't see us trading draft picks for a veteran player". Not we aren't trading draft picks....that a big difference.

There is no difference. He said: “I don’t see us using any picks to trade for veteran ballplayers.” AP is a veteran ballplayer, is he not? Or did he suddenly become a rookie? Or a coach or something?

He went on:

“I think draft picks are so important for us. That’s where your value is in this salary cap era. I see us using all of our picks and hopefully do it in a good, wise way. Hopefully when the draft is all said and done, we’ll have really improved our football team."

Who are you replacing Romo with?

Who knows? We aren't there yet. Whoever we replace him with, he will be in a better position because they build long term. He will have the benefit of a great offensive line, Dez at receiver and, hopefully, a solid defense because of solid drafts. He will also have the benefit of a young RB instead of a beat down AP at 33 or 34 years old.
