The perfect scenario is that Todd Gurley falls to us. Everybody's talking like he'll be gone before the mid to late twenties, but there's a chance he falls considering he's a running back and he's injured.

Was injured. Just had a positive medical check on knee.

According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the Vikings have said "publicly and privately" that Adrian Peterson "plays for them or no one."

Short of being truly blown away by a trade offer, it appears GM Rick Spielman is all-in on waiting Peterson out, even if he doesn't report to anything Vikings related before the season. RapSheet did leave open the door for the Cardinals to acquire Peterson after the draft, but multiple reports elsewhere have stated the Vikings are unwilling to part with Peterson for future considerations. If Peterson isn't traded by next Saturday night -- and it currently appears he won't be -- he'll either be a 2015 Viking, or sitting at home.

So Minny is going to pay Peterson 13 million dollars this season, even if he doesn't show up until 1 hour before kickoff week 1?

That is just crazy.

I may be one of only a few, but I have OK with going with McFadden, Randle and Dunbar, Williams instead of reaching for a top 5 RB. I would rather take my chances in the draft in Round 3 or later and not be reaching.

I think the team realizes that a RB core of McFadden, Randle, Dunbar, and Williams would be questionable at best.

Otherwise, why did we spend like half our visits bringing in every decent RB prospect in college.

If all else fails, just grab Ajayi in the late 2nd or 3rd rounds.................we only need his knee to hold up for 3 seasons or so because that is Romo's shelf life. Once Romo is gone, it really doesn't matter who the RB is since we will be in full rebuild mode.

No on captain fumbler.

Don't count on it. They are trying to make it seem like that but I bet they trade him. Why in the hell would you pay a RB 13 million dollars when he doesn't want to play for you and you have ZERO chance at a super bowl with him? Minny is stupid if they keep him. My money is on him being traded and if the rumors are true about us not even calling Minny to get details on him.. that would be sad.

Sad? Nah. Smart.

We have 2 years with a good qb left and we were very close to making it to the super bowl last year thanks to our dominant run game. Who is going to run the ball in Dallas this year? DMF and a late 2nd round RB? What is smart about that? What will make our team better than GB, Seattle, and Arizona? When you are this close to making the super bowl... you go out and get that one player that helps put your team over the top. That player is not DMF or a late 2nd round rookie RB. To not even pick up the phone and call Minny just to see what it would take etc.. is dumb.

It's a leverage game. They're claiming that they'll keep him unless they get what they want.

As of now, we're calling their bluff.

They either come down off of the reported demands or there is no conversation.
