I still dont know what they are thinking. ??

Okay, I get it, draft picks, money, 30 year old RB. I at least understand that argument, although I wouldve made a real effort to get AP.

But to not even address it in the draft? No gurley, gordon or duke, yeldon, etc etc to look forward too?

We are really going with Randle, Williams and DMC?

Why?

McKinnon was injured late. Not the back they need. he did have some very nice runs.

The longest running thread and the longest running RB- AD. I like that, a winning combination.

Emmitt Smith ring a bell with you? Don't think AP has a chance of hitting that mark as longest running RB.

1 to 3 seasons I would guess before he is done. That's long enough for 1 or 2 rings.

I also don't get why people think we are a RB away from a Super Bowl. We had the best back in the league last year by 500 yards. AP only ran for yards during his 2000 yard campaign and we didn't even get to the championship game.

I think people are thinking that, with the upgrades to the defense, we are closer than last year sans RB.

Because we didn't have a defense last year, specifically a pass rush, and that's why we lost (and a bad call).

Well we fixed that.

Now we need what got us so far in the first place- a dominant run game.

At this point, what other explanation makes sense? To not even draft , not one single RB?

And, it doesn't have to even be AP. Maybe someone else is on the trade block? I would love to see AP, and think we powerhouse are way into the Super Bowl with him on the team.

But at this point,,,, I am desperate for anybody....

It just doesn't add up. Why? Why would you go into a season with basically, DMC and randle on the roster? Why would you do that?

Hasn't Stephen Jones answered this question? Because he doesn't believe in devoting big money to the RB position, especially RB's at 30 who start the decline rapidly, and because he believes it is the improvement to the OL that made the running game work rather than Murray. Hard to argue with the numbers on any of these points.

So you sign Williams from the practice squad who has good potential - he is now our fresh blood - sign McFadden to a reasonable contract that we can walk away from whenever we need to, and have Randle and Dunbar.

When Murray gets 1000 yards before contact last year, it's also hard to argue that any of these guys shouldn't be able to break the 1000 mark behind this line. Instead of drafting a RB we made sure we drafted OL that could keep things going if someone is injured.

The plan makes a lot of sense and certainly more sense then trading away picks and paying big money to a 30 year RB on the belief that he will somehow run for 2200 yards, because it would take that to be a significant improvement from last year.

I think that with AP, our running game would be on par with last season. Couple that with making just a couple more plays and we are SB bound. Seattle will be better next season. So do we and we are on defensive but I don't think the players we have on roster can come close enough to Murrays output so it's a net loss of a good deal imo.

But we fixed that by signing Hardy and spending draft picks on DL...the same money and picks that people have been saying we should use to get Peterson.

That is what is important now. I don't see why some of the people on this board don't want eh Cowboys to get a dominant RB ? Don't they want to win the Super Bowl This Year ? I know I want them to, who's on board for the Cowboys to get a Dominant RB and win the Super Bowl ? Come on sound off !!!!!!!

Right but has it dawned on anyone that we were able to make these improvements by not spending that money on Murray or trading picks and spending money on AP.
