They are not in the same spot as Dallas. They are in more of a rebuild stage. Let me ask you a question if we could get AP for a reasonable price and a 3rd round pick next year would you want him?

They WANT to get to the playoffs. Ya, they can afford to release or trade Peterson. Only DALLAS wants to make the playoffs, not Vikings. Doesn't matter what I think about Peterson. Vikings aren't trading/releasing him. Deal with it.

Maybe some of these AP haters will be happy when he does this for Dallas, or not they are haters.

I don't think anyone here is an AD hater. It is a fact that he is better than any RB we have on the roster. Unfortunately, it's also a fact that he is under contract for the Vikings, which means we will likely have to compensate them since they have no desire to part with him. His salary isn't that big of a concern for me. Cutting Carr would make room for him, but I would still want to add a CB, since I really want Jones at safety, but the draft pick(s) needed is what make me feel uneasy.

If AD could be had for a 3rd, it would have happened. It will likely take multiple picks, with one being a first or at least a condition that allows it to be a first.

Well what's the plan ?

esloans plan failed too. First the plan was to draft a rookie, because that was a cheaper option, and then this years RB draft class was sooooooo deep. That was the plan all along...Wasnt that the plan?

So, as of today, the plan is

Let DM walk in Free Agency;
Dont go after AP.
Dont draft a cheap stud rookie with fresh legs and loads of potential......

Sign Mcfadden, and whoever else gets cut from another team.....
That is the plan? In a year we should be pushing for a SB

Well said and Esloan and his plan have failed. So we will keep the faith that Jerry will do something to improve the RB spot before the regular season.

The plan is to go with what we have. Sorry you don't like the plan but not liking is not going to change anything. Notice that there are few of you left touting AP coming here? Most everyone else has realized that it is not going to happen. Before the draft there were a ton of people posting about how they thought a deal would be done during the draft. Those guys are all gone. They realize that it just is not going to happen. Time for you to do the same.

I'm just fine, and I can deal with you not addressing the question asked, it was yes or no, but as you put it "Doesn't matter what I think about Peterson", so why are you even talking about if it doesn't matter ? Oh forget don't answer that either.

Then Minny is going to pay him, 14 million a year?

Is there a compelling reason they shouldn't? Does he not make them a better team? Will he not make things easier for Teddy Bridgewater? And then there is the aspect of saving face to consider as well. They can not release him or trade him for very little only to watch him go play for Arizona or Dallas and rush for 1500+ yards and potentially win a super bowl.

I am leaning towards him not being here, but I don't know that, and neither does anybody else.

Obviously, there is a lot of chatter. And not from just this board. From the entire league, retired and still playing. AP wants out. etc etc.....

Dallas needs a RB. Its painfully obvious to the majority;

it comes down to how much AP wants out, and how much is Minny willing to pay? My WAG is, they meet somewhere.....? But if they dont and they release him, I think the Cowboys will pay him 8,9 mill for a few to three years.....

I'm dealing with something that's NEVER gonna happen. I'm just fine. That is my answer, didn't know only you can pick and choose my words. I'm talking about what Vikings GM said on a recent podcast. But you want to ignore all things from Minnesota's side of things.

It does not matter whether there is a lot of chatter. It certainly does not matter what some retired NFL RB or WR says about the situation. You know what matters? What the Vikings and the Cowboys say and do and they have both been pretty clear, both by words and actions that AP is not coming here.

JoeBoBBy we want the same thing for the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl this year. Now who on this board doesn't want that ?

I think there are very good reasons they shouldnt; And lots of reasons they should.

If it were me, I wouldn't want him on the team. Not after all thats been said and done. And I would part ways and start building the APless Vikings.... Thats an aweful lot of money to save face....And if the Vikes were playoff and Super Bowl contenders(like dallas), I could see them doing that, but they arent....they arent Super Bowl contenders....not in any realistic way;

I dont know. I hope they cut him/release him/whatever.....Because we sure do need a RB.
