I think there are very good reasons they shouldnt; And lots of reasons they should.

If it were me, I wouldn't want him on the team. Not after all thats been said and done. And I would part ways and start building the APless Vikings.... Thats an aweful lot of money to save face....And if the Vikes were playoff and Super Bowl contenders(like dallas), I could see them doing that, but they arent....they arent Super Bowl contenders....not in any realistic way;

I dont know. I hope the cut him/release him/whatever.....Because we sure do need a RB.

Things will work out, some people think because AP is not here as soon as the draft was over that he isn't coming. I think their is a long window still open to get him.

Peterson was never going to be traded. No one was taking on that contract and giving up a top pick.

AD wasn't going to negotiate against himself to go to a team he didn't choose. He either gets 13m or gets released.

If MINN really wanted him they would guarantee him a lot of money. It is that simple. Words don't matter.

All the teams that needed a RB drafted one except Dallas. When he is released we will swoop in and get him for a bargain.

Yes. The time is now. In my opinion. Romos window, are dominating running game, the NFCE seems to be manageable,,,....the time is NOW!

I am not sure why anybody would think otherwise?

Well said, and why would they, well they do dispute anything else we post. But if they come out and say they don't want the Cowboys to win the Super Bowl this year they will have a lot more than you and I to deal with.

I am convinced. Barring a "make you expensive point" by ziggy and zimm.... He will be let go.

Problem is.... Jerry will pay big money for him.

Jerry knows it.
AD knows it.
We know it.

The plan is to go with what we have. Sorry you don't like the plan but not liking is not going to change anything. Notice that there are few of you left touting AP coming here? Most everyone else has realized that it is not going to happen. Before the draft there were a ton of people posting about how they thought a deal would be done during the draft. Those guys are all gone. They realize that it just is not going to happen. Time for you to do the same.

Actually my original post almost a year ago implied my belief was he will eventually be released. As for the draft that was another avenue of somehting happening. It didn't...so back to the original plan. I have no clue what is going to happen but you have to admit it sure was a head scratcher no RB was drafted. Heck I would have been hapy with your boy Ajayi in the 4th even with his knee and fumbling problem. Nothing natta zilch. The dream remains alive; slightly. Maybe something else is in the works like I posted in the non AD thread. Time will tell.

I think you are tight. He will be released. I think Jerry worked the back channels and has secured AD already.

You don't exit the the draft without picking a RB.

That may be true...this year. But does he out produce enough to justify trading a pick and paying north of 10 million a year for 3 years? That's seems unlikely to me.

Who's 'paying north of $10 million'?

You keep perpetuating this myth as if it's ever been mentioned. No team outside of Minnesota is paying that. The Vikings are the only team that must pay $12.75 for Adrian Peterson. Every other team in the league would get him at a much cheaper rate.

I would like AP, but.....I think D Mac is going to have a DMurray type year. Why I say that, you ask....well, he is an above average back coming out of college. Look what team he went to....the Raiders. No offensive line whatsoever. The guy runs hard. He kind of reminds me of Murray with more speed. Before this season, no one thought Murray would hold up a whole season with his injury history....including myself. Call me crazy....but I think he rushes for 1200 yards easily.

OK, you're crazy.

He's been in the league for 7 years now and had exactly one season in all of that time where he went over 1,000 yards (a very low based based on 16 games) exactly once!

He's also managed to play in 16 games exactly once!

And the guy has averaged 3.4 yards or less per carry for the past 3 years. The verdict is in, and it's not good. And anybody expecting him to suddenly be the guy he was in college, after 7 years of evidence to the contrary, is kidding themselves. Or an Arkansas fan kidding themselves.

I just hope Jerry and the Cowboys aren't.

Jerry probably loads up signing bonus to get AD in right mindset.

Jerry.... Ok Adrian... Here $10-15 signing bonus and 8-10 per year. 3 year deal.

Adrian.... You had me at hello!

More precisely... $12 mil signing bonus and $8 mill x 3 years

You are looking at AD for 3 years = $36mil +/-
