...nearly 3 years ago. That's like 10 years in RB years. Can we stop focusing on one year? He's not getting 2,000 yards again.

He's like no one else. And he won't get 2,000 here because it'll be unnecessary. He might average 7 yards a carry though. Lol

How can anyone say that someone who has had 21 carries in the last 18 months is the best RB in the league? There is a lot more data to suggest that he isn't going to be that effective as an older RB than that he is going to be the best back in the league next year.

So you can speculate he'll be worse but we can't speculate he'll be as good as he's proven to be?

Just so I know the rules here.

Prediction: Peterson will be here....and so will Manziel after Cleveland releases him.

We'll have a woman beater, a child abuser, a drunk-driving killer, and Johnny Rehab.

Grab your butt cheeks, folks. It's going to be a media field day.

lmao....dude!

MINN will have to decide soon. If he gets hurt during any OTAs they are on the hook for the full 13m. Locking him out would be a very hard line to take. I doubt they get offered a 2015 pick, maybe a 2016 pick.

The Vikings have a fiduciary responsibility to get the absolute most they can for AP if they are forced to do so. I doubt the newly thrifty Cowboys will be the counterpart to offer the Vikings that deal. Other teams like Oakland have too many dollars available for the Cowboys to compete in a bidding war for Peterson's services. Peterson gets no vote on where he goes, so it does not matter that he wants to be a Dallas Cowboys.

Kinda like Jay Ratliff had no say in where he was going to play...

I don't think that the Cowboys ever won a game when Moss played with the vikes?

http://dfw.cbslocal.com/2010/10/06/randy-moss-cowboy-killer/

He averged 54 yard per catch on that turkey day. lol. 54 yards per catch!

With Minnesota
1998: 3 catches, 163 yards, 3 touchdowns (Vikings 46, Cowboys 36)
1999: 6 catches, 91 yards, 2 touchdowns (Vikings 27, Cowboys 17)
1999 playoff game: 5 catches, 127 yards, 1 touchdown (Vikings 27, Cowboys 10)
2000: 7 catches, 144 yards, 2 touchdowns (Vikings 27, Cowboys 15)
2004: 4 catches, 27 yards, 2 touchdowns (Vikings 35, Cowboys 17)

He is a Cowboys killer. The Patriots get a third rounder for him. He has never lost as a Viking against the Cowboys.

The big problem with this post are the words "take a look at our current RB core." You do realize (yes I understand that you really do know) that the season opener is almost 5 months away. We have plenty of time to address that position if we don't get AP.

With who bro?

Other than the draft or AP, that its..............they don't have running backs at the local 7-11 so it doesn't matter if its 5 months or 8 months till the opener, nobody else is coming once we are past the draft. There are no street free agent running backs left that are worth a dam, so the number of months is a moot point.

If not AP, then its almost a given that we are drafting a RB fairly high. The fact that virtually every top RB prospect in the country came in for a visit tells me they don't think much of the current core either.

How long can AP hold out without losing anything?

For all the folks saying to forget Peterson and "please don't do it"..................take a look at our current RB core and tell me this group is going to put up almost 2000

McFadden........Raider castoff, over the last 3 seasons has the second lowest yards per carry in the NFL, just slightly better than Trent Richardson.
Randle..............Underwear thief and saw very limited action last season. Broaddus on Talkin Cowboys said yesterday the coaches simply don't trust him.
Dunbar.............Used as a change up scat back but with very limited use, maybe only 1 or 2 touches per game.
Williams............Practice squad guy that never cracked the 52 man roster, rumors he turned down other teams but never verified, weakness is pass protection.

That's all we got folks, that's it...........with Gurley and Gordon both most likely gone by 27, we are looking at a day 2 or day 3 RB being added to this core. The idea that this core with a day 2 or day 3 rookie running back is going to "go committee" for almost 2000 yards is almost laughable. And posters cant understand why so many want Peterson after looking at what we currently have in the cupboard.

The idea is to pair an elite offensive line with an elite RB, not build an elite offensive line and let a bunch of jags run behind it.......................that's my .02

Amen brother. Preach on. No way they just let Murray walk for some rookie either.

Jeremiah Ratliff was released... cut lose to do what he wants. Not the same situation as AP. Know what you are talking about before you come at me.
