After Jerry's rant how can you do anything but root against this team

In Jerry's rant, his answer to his criticism about his offseason moves (and lack thereof)?

"Dak's the highest paid and CeeDee's deal got done..." - yes, in the last hour at the most expensive price. It was the cavalier answer from a billionaire who has zero accountability.

Very easy to hope we lose. It's the only forcing function that causes fans to react.

We all know Jerry is a narcissist. He is also a dispicable human based off the lawsuits he’s involved with regarding his affairs. And he’s the man who signed Greg Hardy.

Now he wants to bully radio hosts who question the moves he DOESNT make (because he’s not the day to day GM anymore which is never brought up).

the only way out of this hole is for the organization to bottom out ala 2000-02 and force them to make real changes in order to be relevant again.
Nothing happened in or after 2000-2002, the Cowboys became irrelevant the minute Jimmy walked.

I'm in the process of looking to other teams for entertainment, aside from doing it with the Cowboys. It's finally reached a point whereby the pleasure of following them is gradually becoming more of a burden than a pleasure. This is far from anything new for me, since this team has actually become something more of a mediocre joke than a winner. That's no easy transition for one who has been a fan for over 60 years. It's a sad time for me.

I won't root against the Cowboys but I no longer buy gear, won't go to a game, and I'm OK not watching a game if I have something else to do.

The more JJ flaps his gums the more I think he needs to sell the Cowboys! 82 yrs old and he’s lost it!!!!

Exactly.. I mean are you sitting there on Sunday hoping for YOUR team to play like crap? I can't imagine any such thing.. I was mad at Jerry when he fired Landry the way he did and I basically boycotted the '89 season because of it. But at no time did I wish for them to lose. I just punted on that season. But then they drafted Emmitt, one of my all time favorite college players who also happened to be from my home state and whom I had been following since he was in junior high I was back on board.
I myself was also mad at that firing. more the way that it was done than the actual firing. I tried to boycott without much success. The 1-15 season made it somewhat easier to keep busy doing other things but i always had an eye on it. I got silver and blue in my veins.

When Dak was re-signed, this team was doomed not only for this season, but for years to come. It's getting really hard to root for the Cowboys.
Y'all are very short sighted. Dak isn't the problem. He's the same as Romo. A QB who can't win but commands a lot of money. Dak is a product of the problem, the Jones front office. Even if Dak wasn't signed, what was their plan? This era is exactly the same as the Romo/Witten/Dez era. Nothing different about it at all. People romanticize that era for some reason but we missed the playoffs 4 of 5 years during Romo's prime. We stuck with that QB who couldn't win. Same as now.

If you can't root for them anymore.... No one is holding you hostage......don't like it, don't talk the talk, walk the walk. Simple as that.

There is definite WRONG. Clueless fans that sit there cheerleading no matter what thus enabling the ownership (Jerry) to do what they want, how they want, put out a poo poo product with no repercussions whenever they want and basically laugh their way to the bank is not GOOD fandom. It's a waste of time and frankly the hard working "folks" money. You are basically championing ownership stealing from the folks who genuinely support the team if you think that's "fine" and OK. It's really not.
They literally just put together 3 12 win campaigns in a row. Now it doesn't look that encouraging this year but something has to have been going right for that to happen. If the super bowl is your level of expectation then yes hes failed.so has many others 1 team wins every year. I literally don't buy gear and haven't been to a game in quite some time. Not because I dont want to but because its irritating to me to deal with parking and the overpriced vending stuff when i can watch on my 75 inch in the comfort of my own home. Jerry isnt going to lose money and i cant stand him as a GM or as the person he represents. hes made poor decision after poor decision but his brand and the cowboy brand is still on top.

you fan how you want to but it changes nothing. Take your ball and go home. Im gonna keep cheering till they are mathematically eliminated. Its entertainment if it impacts you that much your taking it too serious.I got 0 sweat equity in them or any other sports franchise

It's real hard to root against the team. But root against the idiot running it is flawless. Sorta in a catch 20. I love the team but want so bad to see Jerry get crushed. Not only as a bad GM but as a bad person. So? Yea. I'd hate to see them lose the rest of the way. But I want be crying no tears seeing an empty AT&T stadium...

Only shortsighted clowns and blind homers who would gladly suck on Jerry’s toes if he asked them to still root for the Cowboys, they’re enabling him. They’re a central part of the problem and the biggest reason why things will probably never change.

I compartmentalize.

Jerry and the team are not one in the same for me.

I root for the team, if we lose I'm glad Jerry failed. Hypocritical? Of course, but it is what it is.

You do you and I'll do me. Watching sports is by definition a "waste of time." Even if our favorite team wins it all every year it isn't making any material impact on any of our lives. It's entertainment. If you're not entertained then don't watch. It's not all that complicated. I could run you off a list of TV shows a mile long that I used to enjoy but eventually stopped watching because the stories no longer entertained me. If the Cowboys no longer entertain you then I would advise to turn the channel. Jerry Jones isn't holding anybody up for their money or their support. When I am not satisfied with the product I vote with my wallet. I stop going to games, stop buying merch etc.. I may even stop watching or at least not watch as intently. But rooting against my team is simply a bridge too far.

Jerry... He insults Jimmy Johnson and Bill Parcells, spars with other NFL owners, and is generally incompetent as GM.
But now, he's really gone and done it. The last straw.
Jerry called out and disrespected Rowdy before a national TV audience on Fox Pre Game Sunday-- We watched as Rowdy delivered a birthday cake to his boss.
Then, Jerry had the temerity to tell the Fox crew that he had to find Rowdy in a Dallas bar Saturday night, where he shouldn't have been. Poor Rowdy.

Well I was also living in Cali during that 1-15 season so I would have had to jump through hoops (go to bars, or to a friend's house who had early satellite) to watch most of the games anyway so it was pretty easy not to jump through said hoops. There was only like two or three nationally televised games that season and I managed to miss them all for one reason or another.

Been rooting against them for the last few weeks, the games aren't even fun to watch as they used to be
Why root for them to lose?

Cant draft a new franchise qb

Cant change the GM.

Won't hire a young innovative or tough minded Head Coach

Won't bring in blue chip Free Agents that are in their prime.

O-17 or 9-8......no meaninful changes coming
