Rush plays a trimmed down offense. They control the scenarios he will get into to prevent mistakes. This isn't as much what the opponent is doing as what the game plan for the offense is doing.

Rush has a weaker arm. And the Rams game offered evidence he cannot carry a team. Which is what most of you Dak Detractors scream about Dak. He is a bus driver at best.

I'm a huge fan of Aikman, and while he is a great commentator and was an outstanding quarterback, his experience has limited his ability to be objective in this matter.
Dak's future as a Cowboys quarterback is already over. He is not a NFL caliber quarterback because he doesn't understand the position or how to lead.
Cooper Rush may not be the future of the Cowboys but he has shown how bad Prescott has been, and that he is far better than Prescott.
If Rush fails, returning to Prescott isn’t an option.

A voice of reason. I don't understand why most fans DON'T agree with this. Even IF you somehow think Dak is better than Rush, which is insane just based on the fact that Rush can actually read a defense, then you are still saying that we are better with a guy who can't get you beyond one-and-done, and even then, only if the division is complete trash, which it no longer is. And I'm not saying Rush is a world-beater. But I'm sick of people saying that Dak is so clearly the better QB. I know we all want to believe our 40 mil QB is better without question, but you've seen Dak peak, and you know it.

Bear in mind How many throws ( pass plays) and count some drops & duck throws. Weigh in overall.

again , there was no need for him to be hero in that game. If he needs to play hero and does it or doesnt do it , is more valuable.

I know your exaggerating, even Mahomes isnt dropping 450 on the Eagles, but I get what Aikman is saying, it reflects the narrative of this forum the past 5 weeks.
It's not about the better stat line all the time, sometimes it's about the winning equation, and why it's tricky when you want to change it.

Man people act like Rush can't play because he only had a 100 yds against the Rams. He did what he was asked to do. We have been watching Dak look terrible and lose to teams outside the division for 7 years. He isn't a sudden cure for this team to make a playoff run.

Yes when you tell someone to pipe down? Yeah any time Dallas has won it is well they did not play anyone. You got a fairly long history of down playing anything Dak does.

Winning or not, the way rush is playing is not sustainable. Eventually this defense is gonna start getting gassed and the injuries will pile up because they are having to play so much during games. Right now we are not maintaining long drives and we are putting our defense right back on the field. This will start to have an effect as the year goes on, and we will be a walking MASH unit going into the postseason. For the sake of the defense that is carrying us we need to be able to help them stay fresh by putting long drives together.

I'm a Cowboys fan, I expect Rush to go out and do the job and same for Dak. When he has played poorly I have said so, I never once blamed any injury as an excuse, if he was well enough to play then he needs to go out and perform. As for Rush he is the QB until further notice and offense needs to step up and improve including Rush. At the end of the day you bet I want a W but after the game, you look at the good and bad things this team needs to improve on things they have done very well and that includes Rush. Right now offense in not Coverting on 3rd down we are not winning TOP meaning they are not controlling the balls. Rush and the rest of the offense must improve in these areas, right now defense is saving this team but if they are looking to improve there is ample areas where they must improve
