What's more alarming to me is the number of dropped interceptions that Dak benefited from. Dak could have just as easily thrown 27 picks last year, also per PFF. 30 TDs against 27 INTs wouldn't have made for nearly as impressive of a stat line.

Jameis Winston is the only QB in the league that had more would be INTs dropped by DBs, which is a scary thought considering how many INTs Winston still managed to throw.

So number 2 and 3 are on our team.. Lol. Winston would have thrown 50 picks. Lol.

i've never, ever seen a fanbase so vehemently opposed to their own objectively very good QB. it's so bizarre.
you would think Dak had NOTHING to do with Gallup having a great season. like, Gallup was a 2nd year guy. not like he's some known elite commodity. Dak is part of the reason he had a great season.

this is on response to "well he had a great supporting cast! anyone would succeed!"
no.
in the Cowboys blowout wins, it was Dak slinging the ball all over the field and Zeke coming in to close out the games. i think there was ONE game where Zeke kind of got the team going from the start. one.
and this amazing supporting cast? sure, Cooper is very good. tho apparently not good enough to do Derek Carr any big favors his last year and a half in Oakland.
but Cooper is a very, very good WR. Gallup is good too. how good? we honestly still don't know. but Gallup didn't have a great season while an average or bad QB was throwing to him. they helped each other succeed, no doubt. same thing with Randall Cobb. people now want to talk like Cobb was an amazing slot WR. the Cowboys picked him up for basically nothing. he had been unproductive for years in Green Bay. he comes to Dallas, has a solid season (with LOTS of drops, by the way) and suddenly he's extremely good and Dak was super lucky to have him? HUH? y'all are weird and terribly inconsistent.
line is very good and obviously so is Zeke. but there's no threat at the TE position. most teams are utilizing a good or great pass-catching TE and they are often safety blankets for the QB(COUGH CARSON WENTZ COUGH COUGH COUGH). Dak didn't really have that, and IMO this offense under-utilized Zeke and especially Pollard in the short pass game.

the stain of Garrett being washed away from this offense will be amazing.
Mahomes is an amazing QB but also has an absolutely incredible amount of talent around him, along with maybe the best QB coach in the game in Andy Reid. we can still acknowledge that Mahomes is VERY good, anyway. having a good supporting cast does not take away from good QB play. oftentimes, it's a necessity for it.

If you can't tell the difference between Dak and Winston, there is not much to help you. I say go watch some film on Winston. YouTube has most game film on him.
have you also seen Dak's meltdowns at the most imporant games ?
I still prefer Dak way over Winston , but not not anywhere near the price dak is asking . He just has proven nothing to deserve that type of a paycheck.

The only stat I care about is wins. Dak needs at least 11 wins in the reg season and at least 2 wins in the playoffs to satisfy me.

So why is Winston so unwanted and Dak is getting offered highest QB money?

Lets see if you can even answer this one correctly? Since you are such a QB guru.

Tick tock, tick tock...………..………………...
Ok Genius. Winston had a lot of yards. Where is that getting him. Dak had a lot of yards and you think its Ok to shove the most Qb money at him because of his yardage! Yards schmards. Show me wins . Thanks for playin Einstein.

I really hope Dak throws for 5000 yds and we win a Super Bowl. But to say he deserves the most money as a Qb just because of the yards is a fools errand. Im fine with a competitve amount but am leary of a huge contract that hasnt yet been earned.

false selective stats. meaningless . otherwise why is winston out of a job . he has 5109 yards
exactly, most stats are meaningless, it is one reason why aikman made his own stat system to take into account some variables
other stats did not.

Stats are what the media uses to "hype" the game and players.

But those same folks brag on Dalton with his 1 TD and 6 INTs in the playoffs and well below 8-8 record for multiple years on top of having 16 TDs and 14 INTs last year.......
Dalton was not motivated to play for cin , and knew his time was going to be up soon, and I think he wanted out.
if he had played great, they would not have let him go now would they?
Sometimes you have to play poorly just to get away from a team.
I think tannehill wanted out of miami, and look at his turnaround when playing for new team.

I would like to see dalton with mostly starters in PS and see how he does.

(1 yard shy of tying Tony Romo's franchise single season passing yards record...and 2 yards shy of breaking it)

That line cracked me up.... I know math is hard lol.

It was like some SEO guys said, listen you need at least 400 words in this article for the search engines lol.

Agreed, except I don't care about those other QBs since their WRs drops were much less than Dak's WRs. The article writer did his work mentioning Dak's lost passing yards (almost 400 yards more) which I felt such a high number was too important not to talk about. This article is for Cowboys fans interested in seeing what more potential was left on the field since so many supposed Cowboys fans like to bash and diminish Dak's potential on this forum daily.
I do agree with that. I didn't mean for my comment to come across as an attack.

I'm just ready for some football.
